Jesse Farrer was a senior when I was a freshman. Several of the seniors enjoyed being royal turds to us, but that wasn’t the case with Jesse. He was the protector of all. As a matter of fact, during the late stages of my freshman year I began dating a girl in the junior class. He told me that if I did her wrong that he’d be knocking on my door. I never forgot that. I've never met anyone with as much determi-nation, passion, self-sacrifice, and love (although Coach Steve Simmons is in that conversation). I've never seen anyone draw that much respect from his teammates as a player. I've never witnessed anyone so eat up with Christ that he was so willing to use his deteriorating experience with cancer to draw others closer to God. I'll never meet anyone again like Jesse Farrer. We are rejoicing in his victory but losing someone so important in our lives is difficult. See ya in a little bit, Jesse. Leaving it all on the field

Jesse Farrer lost his battle with cancer early Wednesday morning after making it to his daughter’s “Senior Night” for the Tom Bean Lady Cats Softball. In true Jesse Farrer fashion—he kept going to the bitter end and soaked it all in. Farrer was the associate pastor at Community Bible Fellowship and one of the most revered men in the county. When ladder 21 arrived on scene there was fire showing from the window on the back side. The

Ladder 21 crew made entry through the back door of the home and found the fire in a back bedroom. The fire was contained to the bedroom on the back side and the rest of the home has smoke and water damage.

Feed My Sheep searching for land to build food shelter The Feed My Sheep local food pantry is desperately seeking land to build a new stand-alone facility. In order to receive grants, the organization must have their own property of purchase or lease. Since the beginning of the organization in 2016, the group has used the building behind First United Methodist Church. However, they are unable to qualify for grants in that location. For those who can help, please contact Carolyn Cherry.
