Leon Thornhill added to Howe Hall of Honor, 2020-21 class to be honored in May A correction from last week’s column. We stated that Howe ISD Superintendent Kevin Wilson was sporting a week’s worth of growth of facial hair. It turns out that he’s in his fourth month of such (compliment by us by the way). In our defense, Wilson has been wearing a western bandit bandana look for a mask which hides the silver bristles. Some out there might be thinking about knocking down the bearded look now that the mask mandate is being lifted. If so, we can make one recommendation that will change your life, fellas. Shave in the shower. Get rid of the shaving cream and the burn. A shower mirror might be in store for some of you unless you’re a well season veteran. But try it. You’re welcome. No charge. *** One year ago last week Grayson County had 20,000 total primary votes of 81,560 registered voters.

Thornhill’s voice was recognizable on Friday nights in the fall as he served as “The Voice of Bulldog Stadium” working the public address mic over many years beginning in the early 1980s.

Joining them will be one member this year—Leon Thornhill who spent many years dedicated to the allthings Howe including a 12-year stint on the Howe ISD Board

The chamber will host their annual “Awards Night” that evening and will name the Norma J. Wallace Citizen of the Year for both 2019 and 2020 along with Business

Bulk Trash Pickup 2nd Friday of each month in Howe.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Howe for 60 years and a member of the Howe Masonic Lodge.

kickoff in Howe tonight

The True Texas Project is a growing movement for those who want to learn more about politics and get involved in their civic duties. The non-profit organization is hosting their first Grayson County event this evening at First Baptist Church in Howe at the youth building, 100 E. Davis Street. The free event will feature speakers Matt Rinaldi and Jonathan

Stickland. An optional prayer meeting will begin at 5:30 before a 5:45 pizza dinner for $5 (first come, first served). The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8 pm. All patriots are welcome with no dues and no fees.
