Christmas spirit continues despite rugged 2020
“It is somewhere between sad and amusing that people who have done absolutely no research into systemic corruption and subversion will tell you confidently that you are a "conspiracy theorist" and wrong. They cannot conceive of themselves as being victims of propaganda and programming.” - Martin Geddes. ***** Something tells me we’re in for a week that may change the way we view the world. Please fasten your seatbelts and return your tray table to its full upright and locked position. It's going to be a very bumpy ride to finish this crazy and historic year. ***** We learned last week the local famous wrestler Steve Sasser passed away. We did a story on him back in 2014 not too long after we first purchased the paper. Interviewing him was like trying to drink coffee with a fork. It was no secret that Sasser battled demons from drug and alcohol abuse. But the greatest part of his story was not wrestling. It was his friendship with his neighbor Roger Tidwell that helped lead him to a relationship with Jesus. Lady Bulldogs capture first win of the season, drop first district game The Howe Lady Bulldogs (2-3) nailed down their first win of the season on Tuesday at home against Collinsville. They did so in gargantuan fashion by blowing out the Lady Pirates, 76-39. With only a 3 -game schedule prior to opening district play, the makeover Lady Bulldogs roster dropped a nail-biter at Leonard of Friday, 57-53 where Howe’s fourth quarter comeback came up a bit shy. Howe was led by senior shooting guard Katie Grogan against Collinsville where she knocked down a team-leading 18 points. Right behind her was fellow senior post Sierra Copeland who scored 15 and pulled down an incredible 18 rebounds. Freshman Matalee Stewart

Last day to help with Bulldog Angel Tree On each Howe ISD campus is a "Bulldog Angel Tree" that is decorated with tags for families that need help fulfilling Christmas items for their children. In 2020, the need has grown from previous years and the district is reaching out to the community for help with some of these needs.
