Turf and new track to be installed at Bulldog Stadium
Roger Tidwell and Leon Thornhill agreed to meet me at Bulldog Stadium last year to record them making mock calls for some audio I was working on. Thanks to them doing that, I’ll always be able to hear Leon’s voice over the PA. Leon was the Friday night voice of my childhood. I'll always be able to hear him say, "Brian Ross the ballcarrier. Jay Norman on the tackle." And "Stephen Ogle for the touchdown." Joan joked with me years ago that when Leon died, they were going to put him in a black and white jersey and bury him with a microphone in his hand. Leon to me as an adult was much more than just the voice of Bulldog Stadium. He became a warrior-like mentor for Christ in my life. Tuesday night Men’s Bible Studies with Leon some years ago were some of the most enriching and most important moments of my life. I'll always love him. ***** Thank goodness we live where we do. California officials are urging those who head out of state for Thanksgiving to selfquarantine for 14 days when they return. California has generally banned

Howe Police investigating hit -and-run at Summit Gardens
The oldest active stadium in North Texas will get turf by next season. This image was created by the Enterprise and not the final design.
Back in June, Howe ISD Superintendent Kevin Wilson presented information to the school board with renovations needed to the 6 -lane track at Bulldog Stadium. Lane six along the retaining wall in front of the home bleachers is failing and caving in. Wilson said he would not put a child in lane six in a running event. In the current
state, it’s fine for practice, but an event could not be hosted. The track was originally installed in 1986 and has been resurfaced a number of times, but the 34-yearold track has never been rebuilt. The ISD had three compa(Continued on page 4)

A Howe citizen informed the city on Tuesday morning of damage to Summit Gardens wedding and event venue. A vehicle drove through the shrubs and damaged the historic 1893 former First Christian Church which was recently renovated as an event venue operated by the Howe Development
Foundation. The structure is owned by the City of Howe and was dedicated to the city in 1982. Howe Police Sergeant Keith Milks responded to the scene to gather information on the hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing.
Council approves lot size The election war continues with variance for Hilltop Ranch litigation in six states
(Continued on page 9)
Hilltop Ranch is a development which is scheduled to begin construction soon at Blythe Road between US Highway 75 and Texas Highway 5. Under the Planned Development submitted to the City of Howe, an amendment was requested by Tomlin Investments to the City of Howe Zoning Ordinance within the development which would reduce the 20 foot side yard setback on residential corner lots to 15 foot side yard setbacks for the same property types.

The council approved variances to the Hilltop Ranch Preliminary Plat by allowing the block length of Ripple Way between Bluegrass Road
and Archstone Drive as 1,477 feet, by granting a variance to the 1200’ maximum block length contained in Section 4.03(1) of the subdivision ordinance. Also approved was the cul-de -sac length of Wildflower Drive/Pebble Path Circle as 760 feet, by granting a variance to the 600’ maximum length of a cul-de-sac or dead -end street contained in Section 4.01(13)(a) of the subdivision ordinance.
