Special council meeting called for Tuesday for budget and tax rate

We here at the Howe Enterprise did our part to try and enhance your game experience at Bulldog Stadium. Thanks to Howe ISD, they allowed us to place speakers on the concession stand and behind the home bleachers. Rapid Electric did the installation. The idea is not for the broadcast to disrupt the experience from those sitting in the bleachers, but for those that need to make that quick trip to the restroom or grab some famous Cowboy Nachos at the concession stand. ***** To The Howe Enterprise— Several people from (Bells) were unable to attend the game between Bells and Howe last night due to the limited capacity. Fortunately, we discovered your live broadcast and was able to hear the play by play (and the nacho review!). Whoever your broadcasting crew is; they are a class act team! Unlike other towns that broadcast the games with unkind words, you guys were cordial, calling good plays good regardless of which team did it, gave credit where credit was due and most of all, sounded like you love the game and appreciate the kids trying their best on the field regardless of the jersey color! - Tammy. The Howe City Council will meet Tuesday at the Community Center at 700 W. Haning Street at 6 pm to discuss and act upon a budget and tax rate for the fiscal year of October 2020 -September 2021. Ordinance No. 776 provides for the intra and inter department and fund transfers; and declares the effective date. The budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $34,735, and of that amount, $5,786 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year. There will be a public hearing to receive input on

Other business includes appointing Rod Gross to the Planning & Zoning Commission and reappoint current members for the completion of their terms.
