Green light for black and white Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser instituted a mask mandate on Wednesday which orders three-year -old’s to cover their faces, but exempts lawmakers, judges, and government employees while they are “on duty.” Under the new Mayor’s Order, people must wear a mask when they leave their homes if they are likely to come into contact with another person for more than a “fleeting moment”.

It’s almost as if the novel part of this particular coronavirus is that it can determine who is subject to contracting it. The famed Dr. Anthony Fauci, who once said masks do no good now has flipped his stance. However, while attending the Washington Nationals opener (and wildly flubbing the first pitch by the way), he was caught not properly wearing his mask while seated closely between to individuals. Now, those could very well be family members that he was sitting with which changes the rules on the mask. But does that mean the virus can’t spread between family members? Everything is so confusing, right? High school football players on Friday night can tackle each other, but shaking hands after the game is a no-no.

Howe ISD releases their Safe Return to School Plan for Aug. 19 The Howe ISD Board of Trustees met on Tuesday night and approved a policy for a safe return to school for students during the COVID19 pandemic. “In developing our plan to return to school for the 202021 school year, Howe ISD is committed to ensuring that all students, staff, and community members remain healthy and safe by adhering to best practices in the following areas: • •

Howe ISD will require all employees to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before coming to school each day. They’ll do that by taking their own temperature each morning and self-assess whether they have any symptoms related to the pandemic that is in a way not normal for them.
