The camp that draws athletes from all over the Texoma region has been forced to cancel this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. “My greatest respect and admiration goes out to my good friends in Howe and the surrounding communities, starting with my partner Derek Lands, my old friend Tim Rose, my favorite “floor manager” Chris Arledge, Mr. Wilson and his great staff for allowing us to be a part of the “Howe Bulldog world,” said Jan Jernberg, owner of

The Howe Police Department got to full staff last Monday when David Tollison was hired as the newest officer. Tollison, originally of Sherman, graduation from Sherman High and later attended Si Tanka University in Eagle Butte, South Dakota where he played soccer. He then came back and attended the University of North Texas. Tollison says that a bad experience with law enforcement as a youngster ultimately influenced him to become an officer. “I hated law enforcement growing up just because of something that happened

when I was a kid,” said Tollison. “And as I got older, the only way I could change it was from the inside and I thought this was something I wanted to do. I love helping people” Tollison’s first job in law enforcement was in 2014 at the Grayson County Jail and has been wanting to move toward the street to help build a community. Being an interesting time for law enforcement, he makes no apologies for being the person that instinctively runs towards danger when everyone else runs away. He and his wife Sarah have two young daughters.
