Howe Chamber to host County Commissioner debate

Putting faith in man will always fail us and no one I know fails more than me. As a believer, faith in Him is our only hope. From the beginning, we said this column would not be about our family and I’m holding true to that. Therefore, there’s about a quarter-page space on page nine dedicated to someone’s birthday today. She’s pretty special. Jeremy Moore, pastor at Community Bible Fellowship preached on the discipline of fasting Sunday morning. As a big guy, the obedience-tuning could help in many ways. As the sermon closed, I was glad that he didn’t mention the post-church Taste of China buffet as he has at times. Sermons about fasting need to come with about a two-hour warning so we could at least eat breakfast. The Howe Youth Sports Association still has signups going on. The next date is Jan. 25 from 11 am—2 pm at the Howe Middle School cafeteria. It’s the final date for softball, but baseball will host the last one on Feb. 1. EDITOR’S NOTE—This column is reserved as an opinion column and may not necessarily reflect the policy of this publication.

The Masonic Lodge has had a presence in Grayson County for over 150 years. The Mantua Lodge was chartered in January 1858 in the community of Mantua which was located just south of the present town of Van Alstyne.
