Storms knocked out all electronics at local dentistry
One thing that is a bit tiresome is other local news companies continually sharing stories on social media to only get clicks. Why in the world would a local paper share a Houston story in North Texas other than to clickbait (new verb) their audience. Let's take one that popped up Friday from the Herald Democrat's Facebook site. Headline: "Texas pastor who wanted abortion criminalized charged with child sex abuse." Now, it's obvious from the outset that this guy is a pretty low-life dude. But let's look at the headline to see if it is designed to stir the rubbernecker in all of us. "Texas pastor" - prominent person; "wanted abortion criminalized" - stokes emotion in a lot of people; "charged" - rubberneck!!!!; "with child sex abuse" - ding ding ding! Operation clickbait complete! Now...what in the world does this have to do with anything in Grayson County? Now it would be unfair to only mention the Herald Democrat, er uh Texas Tribune Democrat because the local TV stations may be even worse. KXII has become a sanctuary news home. There's plenty of wild clickbait stories produced by our favorite wheels-off city of Ardmore that KTEN hangs their hat on. What these news companies are looking for is emotions to make you click. This is what they want > ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS
