Lone Stars Hoops returns to Howe for 20th year

that will inform the listing and management decisions in the near future

“We will be using whole-genome data for this study,” he continued “The advantage in this case would be that we can assess if and how genetic diversity in functionally important genes, such as genes related to immunity, are impacted With that data, we can make inferences regarding what the recovery means for survival and long-term viability”

The last time a USFWS review was performed, they did not find sufficient evidence to support delisting, Athrey said Genetic data is a critical component for conservation and management decision-making, and these approaches have become ubiquitous around the world, he said

The last genetic study on goldencheeked warblers, published in 2012, showed there had been a steep decline in genetic diversity of the golden-cheeked warbler due to habitat loss experienced over the last century: https://link springercom

“We’ll be looking at the genetic diversity and structure of the species because Fish and Wildlife wants to determine whether to look at the species as one large contiguous population or independent units, from a management perspective,” Athrey said “Recovery of the species is the goal everyone is working towards Various approaches are used to assess progress on recovery goals, and genetics is one of them

“This study is likely to be crucial in determining how the goldencheeked warbler may be managed in the future and what protections need to be afforded it ”

For the 20th consecutive summer, Lone Stars Hoops Camp is approaching Howe parents with information regarding a traditional basketball event that their kids may have come to love and even count on to help develop what they like to refer to as the player's "5points" of sound fundamental basketball skills - shooting, passing, ball-handling, footwork and defense

Fortunately, current coaches like Derek Lands and former boys coach Tim Rose have felt that a high-intensity, "total-immersion", fast-paced, positively-spirited basketball event may make a difference in the always-important off-season period where great progress can be made

Over this two-decade-long period of time, Lone Star Hoops LLC has helped to offer a great summer event for elementary and middleschool boys and girls where they can polish their skills among some of the top prep instructors in the game

Kids have a great time learning the skills-of-champions while competing in contests, tournaments, circuit "masterteaching" sessions, half-court games, full-court league-play and opportunities to embrace the "PBs" of competition "Personal-Bests"!
