Doty and Shadden win open school board seats
Chamber inducts four into the Howe Hall of Honor
a It was quite a weekend of events. I thought about taking off the remainder of the month. And then I woke up. Founders Day weekend requires a lot of planning and working from chamber board members so a big thank you goes to all that helped. Newest chamber board member Sarah Whitt put in a lot of work in the setup Saturday morning and Susan Garcia also helped out greatly at the Hall of Honor. President Robert Cannaday was huge in both events and special recognition goes to Beth Lawless, a new Howe community member, who helped work the chamber table at Founders Day and then cleaned the streets and FBC Howe church parking lot after the event.

For the first time, vendors not only lined each side of Haning Street, but also in the middle and in the grass areas between Abby's Restaurant and City Hall.
Speaking of FBC Howe, Brother Roger Tidwell is seeking a heart for his transplant. He told us last night that he's seeking an attorney's heart, due to being slightly used. Being able to present the Norman Dickey Award was quite an honor. Yes, it was short and sweet because if it had been much longer there might have been a tear or two pop out - and like Leon Thornhill said last night, "if you don't cry, you ain't a man." Well, I nearly showed my manhood, so to speak.
The Howe Chamber of Commerce for the fifth consecutive year held their awards night where community leaders of the past were inducted into the Howe Hall of Honor. The two inductees in attendance might have been on the opposite ends of the
