Howe's longest-tenured postmaster relocating The internet was still fairly new and the buildings were still standing in Manhattan when LeAndra Beckemeyer became Howe's postmaster. Time has gone by and she's outlasted all Howe postmasters before her to become the longesttenured. She will step down Friday, May 3 and begin her newest career spoiling grandchildren on a steady basis. Sometimes you really don't understand what an impact one person can make in a community until they are no longer there to make the impact. LeAndra Beckemeyer is leaving and Howe will miss her.

Founders Day Festival highlights upcoming weekend full of events
The Founders Day Festival will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, May 4.
Got the word that I get to present the Norman Dickey Award at Sunday night's athletic banquet. What an honor it will be. It will also be the closest I've ever been to that award thanks to the 1992 All-American boy Trey Dedman. No jealousy here. I'm 100 percent over it.... (run track kids).
Lets all hope for good weather for Saturday. There is much planned and greatly anticipated. The rain needs to stay away from Howe on Saturday for sure.
