Howe Theater takes first place, advances to bi-district

Each year the Loy Lake edition always beats us up. Invariably, our ag knowledge has us leaving out someone and it breaks our heart for those kids that don't get the deserved recognition for their efforts. If you want the Howe Enterprise to tell you the dynamics and the art of a great knuckleball - we could write 11 paragraphs easily However, if you want us to explain the difference between the pigs in the categories - well, it would be about the same as a politician explaining ethics class in Washington. The local chamber is off and running with the Founders Day planning and has stated that they are already out of street vendor space on Haning. The good thing about a great economy is that people are signing up quickly to sell their products. The bad thing is that they're purchasing two at a time and only overflow is left. The chamber board is discussing a two-block party if the enthusiasm continues. The big party is May 4 from 2 pm to 8 pm. Speaking of Founders Day, the Summit Gardens committee will hold their third and final BBQ Dinner, silent auction, and live auction and do it on Founders Day. The group is trying to raise $15,000 to retire the debt from construction and start fresh with the wedding venue to bring in money to the Howe Development Foundation.
