Howe became "TOYLAND" for a day

The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce pulled off a successful Christmas parade on Saturday. It wasn't quite as large as it was originally scheduled to be, however. Before the postponement, the chamber had over 30 entrees that were to be in the parade. However, the rain pushed it back a week and the number of entrees dwindled to 18. Perhaps some patrons had also made plans as the crowd was lighter than previous years - at least in the downtown area.

Howe third grade meets local government leaders

The Howe High School Marching Band, aka The Pride of Howe, were loaded on a trailer which prompted one coffee shop patron to wonder if they went union. The Herald Democrat had a good write-up of the parade in Sunday's edition. Check it out. It sounded as if Howe was shaming other nearby towns that canceled their parade and didn't reschedule.
