May we never forget the loss of lives in the tragedy of a planned terrorist attack. May we also remember the unity that our country had the following days, weeks and months following the tragedy. It was the worst day we have ever seen or experienced, but it brought out the best in all of us. America was not built on fear but by courage.

She is survived by her husband Dale Rideout of Howe, TX, son, Kirby Rideout, two daughters, Susie Dickey and husband Gary Don and Jamie English and husband Mark. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and her sister, Carolyn Diane Bullard.

Longtime Howe Enterprise editor Lana Rideout has passed on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne, Texas. Lana was born on May 18, 1944 the daughter of John Leo and Anna Louise Brown Bullard. She was iconic in capturing Howe’s history from the late 1970s through just a few years ago. She was a community leader involved with the Howe Community Library, Howe Chamber of Commerce, and Howe Historical Society just to name a few.
