On Saturday, Howe's 32nd Annual Founders Day Festival will kick off at 2pm and attendance is expected to surpass the 2016 event that was the largest ever Headlining the festival is the band "Texas Flood" thanks to sponsor Tomlin Investments Texas Flood is a tribute band to Stevie Ray Vaughan and the blues in general They will take the stage at 5:30 pm and play until 8 pm Bent Creek will return to Founders Day from a year ago and will open the festival at 2pm and play until 4:30 pm.

The festival has drawn interest from not only Howe and surrounding cities, but the entire North Dallas region. Vendors have filled up all of the street spaces a month ago and now overflow spaces have been issued for spaces near City Hall and the FBC Howe parking lot which will feature a Kid Zone. The Kid Zone will include a bounce house, inflatable obstacle course and the popular Interurban Kid Train

At least four local wineries have committed to be present in the Howe Chamber office starting at 5pm for a wine tasting Tickets are $10 to enter the building which gives patrons six wine tickets and a commemorative Howe Chamber wine glass as well as Palio's Pizza The local wineries are Homestead Winery, Landon Winery, Lenoir Sage, and Cooley Bay

A new event this year will be limbo which will take place in front of the stage at 4:30 pm Another new event is an old-fashioned turtle trot to which will take place at the Keep Howe Beautiful booth near Don's Smokehouse At 5:10 pm a water balloon toss will be held near the stage area

The 4th Annual Lawnmower Race sponsored by Advantage Business Machines will take place at 5:20 pm Several contestants have already registered and some lawnmowers have been upgraded just for the race

As far as food, there’s already yummy restaurants in town such as Abby’s Restaurant and Gabriela’s Mexican Cocina in downtown Howe along with Palio’s Pizza Cafe within walking distance Festival food options will be Pop Pop Popcorn, B-Dawgz Street Doggz, and Sparky’s Bar-b-que Cool refreshment options are Chill Out Shaved Ice, Howe Girl Scout Lemonade, and Mackenzie’s Mississippi Sweet Tea

The chamber will be hosting a "selfie-booth" and will announce a Founders Day Festival King and Queen from those that take photos at the booth with the hashtag #howefoundersday

Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to watch the band as the street will be blocked off and available for chairs
