Bulldogs headed to playoffs with win over Leonard
Peyton Reagan got the call to be the starting pitcher in the Bulldogs' biggest game of the season to date Playing in honor of his great uncle Ronnie Barcheers who recently passed, Reagan pitched a gem allowing only one earned run on six hits in his six-and-two-thirds innings. He struckout 10 and only walked one Tiger hitter
Four Bulldogs had multi-hit games with Mason Riggs and Cirby Coheley each going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI Cade Courtney and Dyson Dillard each went 2-for-4 on the night Spencer Akins drove in two runs and Kyler Anderson scored two runs

Howe took the first lead of the night when they scored in the top of the third inning when an Akins bunt resulted in Riggs and Coheley scoring the games first two runs
In the top of the fourth, Howe again scored on a bunt - this time by Coheley who reached on an error that resulted in Anderson scoring from third and Howe taking a 3-0 lead
The Bulldogs took a commanding lead in the sixth inning when a Coheley double drove in Anderson and a Reagan double drove in Coheley Riggs followed with a single that drove in pinch runner
Chase Barnett Howe took the 6-0 lead to the bottom of the sixth and needed the big inning prior as Leonard tried to steal the game with four runs in the inning
Reagan gave up a leadoff homer to the Tigers to cut the gap to 6-1. Two ensuing errors led to three unearned runs and Riggs came in to finish the game for Reagan and earn the save

The Lady Bulldogs have clinched four straight bi-district titles and have done so thanks in part to the outstanding pitching of four-year starting pitcher Torrey Stubblefield The senior hurler got the nod in the circle for both games of the three-game series which turned out to be only two thanks to the girls from Howe winning the first two games
In Friday's contest, Howe raced out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when senior shortstop Erin Blackburn walked to leadoff, stole second base and then advanced to third on a wild pitch She later scored on a sacrifice fly by senior Peyton Streetman


Stubblefield was effectively wild throughout the evening constantly having to pitch out of jams thanks to putting the leadoff hitter on base frequently via the walk But her hard fastball and changeup kept the S&S hitters off balance as she took a no-hitter intot the sixth inning
Howe's second run of the game didn't take place until the bottom of the fifth when Stubblefield singled home Streetman Howe led 2-0 after five.
The Lady Bulldogs added a third run in the sixth inning as Payton Griffin laced a line drive down the left field line that went passed the left fielder The ball rolled to the wall allowing Griffin to race around the bags for an inside-the-parkhomer
S&S finally punched a run across in the seventh inning to narrow the gap to 3-1, but the game ended on a line drive to Blackburn
Stubblefield ended up walking eight and striking out eight in the 2hit seven inning performance She also had the only multi-hit game for the Lady Bulldogs, going 2-for-3 with an RBI

Howe, missing Blackburn due to her competing at a regional track meet, found themselves down 4-0 in the first inning as the visitors at Sadler Three singles, a double, and a walk led to the 4-run first for the Lady Rams But Stubblefield settled down nicely throughout the remaineder of the contest
Howe finally got on the board against Jaresh in the third inning as Courtney Hopper started a rally with a single up the middle followed by a single by Cassidy Anderson Hopper scored on an error by the Lady Rams left fielder which also allowed Anderson to advance to second base. Moments later, Stubblefield hit a blast over the left field wall for a 2-run homer to bring Howe within a run at 4-3
