The Howe Bulldogs had a rough Tuesday at Whitewright as five errors led to seven unearned runs and a 10-3 loss

The Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead against Howe starter Mason Riggs Riggs got two quick outs in the inning, but allowed back-to-back singles, a walk and a 2-RBI single

Howe turned the game around in the top of the second inning when Cirby Coheley doubled home Parker Blount, followed by a Kyler Anderson 2-RBI double that scored Peyton Reagan and Coheley Howe took a 3-2 lead to the bottom of the third But the error bug began as Whitewright tied the game on an error by the centerfielder

The game remained tied until a 2RBI double by Whitewright in the bottom half of the fourth inning Dyson Dillard was called on to relieve Riggs and plunked the first batter An error at third and a walk led to the two-run inning

The fifth inning was one that the 'Dogs might want to forget as Whitewright opened up the inning with a single, an error, and error, a single, an error - all leading to four unearned runs Two of the errors were on bunts hit back to the pitcher

For good measure, the Tigers added one run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Riggs went two-and-two-thirds innings allowing two earned runs on five hits, striking out one and walking five Dillard pitched the final three-and-one-thirds innings allowing one earned run on four hits, striking out three and walking one

Cade Courtney had a multi-hit game by the 'Dogs as he went 2for-3 at the plate as did Anderson

Friday's contest with Farmersville was postponed to Saturday night due to thunderstorms The 'Dogs had to battle back from the beginning as the Farmers scored four runs in the top of the first inning off starter Reagan

Reagan settled in nicely the rest of the game recording all but the final out of the game as Bryce Krantz came in and allowed a run on two hits but got the final out to save the 9-6 win for Howe page 16

100 meter dash with a healthy time of 12 90 Jamie Taylor finished fourth in the 200 meters at 28 30 Freshman Marissa Agee placed second in the 400 meters at 1:03.49. Kristian Sutherlan placed fourth in the mile run with a time of 6:01 86 Mattie Martin finished fourth in the 100 m hurdles (17 99) and Bethany Masters finished second in the 300 m hurdles with a time of 48 87 Howe's 4x100 relay team consisting of Taylor, Cally Vick, Blackburn and Segleski finished third with a time of 52 37 The Lady Bulldogs also qualified for area in the 4x400 with Taylor, Segleski, Agee, and Masters combining for second with a time of 4:19 13

In the field event, Masters qualified for area by finishing second in the triple jump (34'-1") and Ally Harvey will advance in high jump with her leap of 5'-0"

The Bulldogs area qualifiers are Cade Courtney who ran a 11 67 in the 100 m dash as well as Hunter Cheatham who placed third in the 400 m with a time of 53 59 Chase Clayton qualified in the 110 m hurdles by finishing third (16 29)

In the field events, Ty Harvey qualified for area with his fourth place finish with the leap of 6'-1" Zimry Weatherspoon finished second in the pole vault with a jump of 12'-0"
