Howe Elementary Employee of the Month for November

My name is Donna Weir and I am currently a second grade teacher at Howe Elementary in Howe, Texas This is my 25th year of teaching and I can’t believe it! I have taught in Texas and Florida I love every minute spent with my students and learn so much from them each and every day

I was born in San Antonio, Texas and my husband and I grew up in the Houston-Galveston area My husband is an Aggie and I attended the University of Houston I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a specialization in Reading

I am married to Scott and we have a precious dog named Baron He is a golden retriever rescue and we love him more than words can say We live in Melissa, Texas and we have seven nieces and nephews They range in age from 22 years old down to 11! We adore each one of them! Our oldest nephew Taylor, has recently decided to join the army and we are very proud of him

My hobbies include teaching, shopping, and spending time with family whenever I can! I am so happy to be a part of Howe ISD! Go Bulldogs!

"They have a really good program and just got a new coach," said Griffin

This season, Griffin will have her fourth head coach in the fourth year of her high school career and next year will make it five in five

"It's been kind of hectic, but we've all played ball together since we were little, so it's pretty nice," said Griffin

Since Murray State is a junior college, they offered her the max that they are allowed for the scholarship

The parents were also thrilled and thankful

"She really liked the coach is what it all boiled down to," said her father Andy Griffin "One of the thing that I asked each coach (on recruiting trips) is how long they plan to stay He's a Durant guy and that's where he's going to be "
