Howe's That The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce will be the location of a 'town hall' style meeting in Downtown Howe tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be hosted by the political action committee, Bulldogs 4 Bulldogs. The event will include a presentation from the committee and a question and answer session from Howe ISD Superintendent Kevin Wilson.

Two Howe ladies blessed to 'Pride of Howe' finishes second survive weekend in Vegas in 3A and fifth overall at contest

Refreshments such as coffee, tea, and cookies will be available and it is a free event open to the public. The important bond election is to be held on Nov. 7. The chamber wants to send the reminder that they are a volunteer organization and is looking for some people willing to help with event planning such as Howelloween, mixers, the Christmas parade, Founders Day and such. The Pride of Howe Marching Band competed Saturday, October 7th in the Aubrey Invitational Marching Contest where they placed fifth overall (second in 3A) out of a field of 28 bands. Class 4A schools, Krum, Anna, and Community took first, second & fourth, respectively and Van Alstyne placed third. The competition was stiff with only a small point differential separating the
top five bands. "We weren't that pleased with our prelim performance so we were excited to get another run.," said Band Director Angie Liss. "The weather was much cooler at 8:30 pm than it had been at 2:15 so that was the first bonus. There's also something special about getting that Continued on page 12
Howe spends week praying for Tate

Within weeks of their March purchase of the tickets, the Route 91 Harvest Festival for this past weekend was sold out. Some 22,000 country music enthusiasts would see the likes of Hunt, Eric Church, and Jason Aldean. The two Howe ladies purchased a hotel room on the 22nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel within walking distance of the festival.
