Wood started in prosecution nearly 10 years ago after an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps Originally from Georgia, he worked in Collin County before being hired by the Grayson County District Attorney's office in 2012

"This is were my roots are now," said Wood "You see people coming from down south and all over and it's because you still have that appeal of being able to talk to your next door neighbors and caring about the community"

He was also lured to Sherman by Britton Brooks who, along with Howe, is the municipal judge at

Tom Bean, Pottsboro, Bells, Whitewright, and Oak Ridge

"They say that variety is a spash of life," said Brooks "I find it fascinating to see the law both from a prosecutor's prospective as an assistant district attorney, and then from the bench as the municipal judge

The judgeship is approximately two hours of court time per month with an hour spent with the clerks It works out for an extra 18 hours per month for Brooks in his judgeship roles with all of the various cities.

Brooks says it's a dream come true to work in the district attorney's office and says that it is just as fun ten years later as it was on day one

Brooks' wife Lesley is a local prosecutor and they recently introduced a baby girl, Vivian, who is seven-weeks-old
