Howe's That This year's string of strep has been one of the most ferocious of any we can recall in recent years. The middle school has had more reports of strep than reports of dog-eaten homework. Although, it is true that it takes a dog quite a bit more work to eat an iPad than notebook paper. But back to the strep thing - we know one fifth grader that missed a week of strep and eventually had it turn to pneumonia. The fifth grade seems to be big targets for this super strand as it hit our home last week as well.
Summit Gardens The Howe City Council officially approved the renaming of the former First Christian Church to Summit Gardens. The official title is "Summit Gardens - A Wedding and Event Venue", but I would imagine that most people will refer to it as Summit Gardens. The recently raised $12,500 should be enough to finish the project. The City of Howe has agreed to place sidewalks on the north side of the property which will connect from the back to the front. The name was adopted by the Save the Church committee who sought recommendations from the public and the board.

Tidwell honored by former Coaches hired by Howe ISD; Bulldogs to move from slot-T to high school in Dallas wing-T offense in football
Twenty years ago this week, the City of Howe proclaimed April 27, 1997 as Roger Tidwell Day. The former North Dallas Bulldog was welcomed back to his alma mater last week to be recognized for the help that First Baptist Church of Howe has done in providing for the homeless students. North Dallas High School opened the "Roger Tidwell Clothes Closet" at the high school in his honor for the services he has provided from his leadership at the church. Tidwell was a 1976 graduate of North Dallas High.

The revolving door of coaching happens from time to time, but this year hit the Howe Bulldogs quite hard and unexpectedly. Howe ISD Athletic Director said that he thought that he knew of one coach that would be leaving the staff, but when Football Offensive Coordinator Dale West left for the Athletic Director/Head Football coaching position in Collinsville and Wes Rhoten took the Offensive Coordinator job at Canton, and the resignations of Richard McAdams and Jordan Dusek, Hudson said that it turned into a
