Keep Howe Beautiful to host a Howe Texas Trash-Off

Howe's local beautification program, Keep Howe Beautiful, is holding a "Trash-Off" for locals to help clean up the city

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Howe Development Alliance/Howe Chamber of Commerce office at 101 E Haning St in Downtown Howe KHB is also requesting that volunteers bring gloves

This is the third year that KHB has organized an event in conjunction with the Texas Trash-Off, which is actually a week later on Saturday, April 8

The Don’t mess with Texas TrashOff is the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’s signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, held annually from March 1 through May 31 The Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off is part of TxDOT’s litter prevention program, which includes Don’t mess with Texas, Adopt-aHighway, and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful

One-Act Play Honors

Jackie Dawsey is in her ninth year at Howe Middle School She taught sixth grade for four years before moving to seventh grade Despite teaching for twenty-three years, she still walk into my classroom everyday with enthusiasm

In the past, she taught Special Education as a Resource teacher and as an Inclusion teacher She has also taught second grade and later seventh grade English, all in other districts

She lives in Howe with her family of four - two children, one in college and one in high school

"Howe I S D is a great school district where students won't get lost in the crowd There is a wonderful sense of family that can easily be seen by the way everyone steps up to support the students.

I look forward to spending a year teaching your child the joys of reading and writing Go Bulldogs!"
