Pack 45 Pinewood Derby results

An old tradition took place on Sunday afternoon at FUMC Howe as the Pack 45 Annual Pinewood Derby event featured nearly 20 cars in competition

In the Tigers division, Wyatt King took first place with an average time of 195 54 miles per hour

In the Wolves division, Elias Faust finished first at191 48 with James Johnson coming in second (173 04) and Eric Dailey finishing third (153 03) finished third (189 71)

There was an open class in which Josh Merriman finished first with a speed of 194 88 Jude Christman finished second (187 63) and Hunter Robertson finished third (183 96)

Gage Troxtell finished as the fastest performing car in overall competiton averaging 198 91 miles per hour The slowest car in competition averaged 153 03 miles per hour

Dreana McAdams won her class at the S&S Powerlifting meet this weekend Tanner Harstfield (pictured above) finished in third place in the S&S Powerlifting meet with a total of 1,260 pounds lifted

Jade Cox finished sixth in the girls division while in the boys, Michael Hymel finished 8th in his weight class as did Chase Harvey Other competitive performers were Chase Barnett, Cade Harmon, Mason Riggs, Chris Garrison, Nathan Duffee, Jacob Howell, Kendrich McAdams and Joseph Brennan

In the Bears division, Conner Coffman was the winner (194 57) with Baylen Merriman finishing second (189 56) and Casey Clopton coming in third (188.89).

The Weblos division saw Gage Troxtell finish in first place (198 91) while Lucas Mitchell came in second (194 51) and Josh Crosby

The first pinewood derby was held on May 15, 1953 at the Scout House in Manhattan Beach, California by Cub Scout Pack 280C (the present Pack 713). The concept was created by the Pack's Cubmaster Don Murphy, and sponsored by the Management Club at North American Aviation
