Howe's That Baseball is a wonderful game and probably the most enjoyable. However, three consecutive days of nonstop public address work in a heat index over 100 degrees can make even the most hard-hitting baseball enthusiast a little defeated. A tip of the cap to Rodney Hough, Scott Thurman and all of the most dedicated workers of Howe Youth Baseball. I cringe at the thought of that one day Scott Thurman is no longer volunteering with the organization. It appears more and more every year that Thurman is to Howe Youth Baseball what Vince Hash was to Howe Youth Softball back in the 1980s.

Great Days of Service gets injection of youth Great Days of Service is a program that happens every June that is generally comprised of volunteers from the First United Methodist Church in Howe (FUMC). However, this year, FUMC was joined by First Baptist Church of Dorchester and the newest Howe church - Community Bible Fellowship (CBF). It was CBF that brought a massive amount of youngsters to help with local projects.
