Pottsboro started at their own 32 yard line with only :50 left on the third quarter clock The drive quickly resulted in a Zane Martinez 7-yard touchdown with 11:44 left in the game The new Pottsboro lead went to 42-7
The special teams bug hit Howe again as Pottsboro's kickoff was a failed pooch kick that traveled between the first two Howe lines The ball took a funny hop and the Cardinals recovered at the Howe 46 yard line with 11:40 left
Michael Hall would finish off the 46-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown. The Cardinals lead was upped to 49-7.
Howe's final possession started at their own 30-yard line with 7:20 left The Bulldogs went in to "kill the clock" mode, but in a different situation However, Pottsboro stripped Howe slot back Cooper Akins and recovered the fumble at the Pottsboro 43 yard line
The Cardinals successfully ran out the final 5:05 of the game to finish off the 49-7 win.
Howe's record falls to 4-1 and Pottsboro, after the UIL decision, goes to 2-3 instead of the unbeaten 5-0 mark
Jaden Matthews led all Howe ball carriers with 14 carries for 76 yards Tyler Grisham added 11 carries for 38 yards Stratton Carroll had 9 for 38 and a touchdown Brent Masters tallied 16 yards on 3 carries and Cooper Akins rounded out the night with 5 carries for 8 yards
Quarterback Brandon Wall completed 2 of 2 passes for one yard Both passes were caught by Stratton Carroll.
Howe's 176 yards rushing were the least amount of the year. The previous low was 305 vs. Sacred Heart. It was the first regular season game that Howe didn't rush for over 200 yards since last season in Gunter
With a bye week before district starts, Howe will then face Gunter, who is now 4-1 after being credited a win vs Pottsboro in their 42-0 loss
