Howe had first Blue Bell party in North Texas
On Thursday night, Howe, Texas became the North Texas Blue Bell Capital for just a few hours Chris Cavender of Cavender Home Theater pulled off a marketing gem that would make P.T. Barnum blush The satellite guru travelled to the lower region of our state and purchased some of the first released Blue Bell Ice Cream and saved it to serve to the people of Howe at the monthly Howe Area Chamber of Commerce mixer last Thursday evening

The chamber office in downtown wasn't as crowded as was anticipated due to other big events in the area. Pottsboro won the coin-toss and elected to receive the football Howe tried to surprise the Cardinals with an onside kick, but the attempt came up unsuccessful and that gave the Cardinals a short field to start with They wasted no time in marching the field as the Cardinals' talented quarterback Zane Pritchett scored from 8 yards out to finish off the 4-play, 51-yard drive. Pottsboro led 7-0 with 9:49 left in the first quarter.

Pottsboro's second drive took only two plays as Pritchett hit wide receiver Nate Watson on a 70-yard post with a beautifully thrown ball. The Pottsboro lead climbed to 14-0 with only 4:56 gone in the contest.
The Bulldogs slot-T offense that we've so accustomed to see rush for more than 300 yards consistently, finally showed signs of life in the 'Dogs second drive Jaden Matthews ripped off a long run to set up a 12-yard touchdown by Stratton Carroll The standard 6minute drive had the Cardinals on their heels for the moment Howe's score cut the Pottsboro lead to 14-7 with :16 seconds left in the first quarter
The ensuing kickoff by Howe was taken by up-man Cody Copeland for the Cardinals who raced down to the Howe 6-yard line. One play later, Pritchett took it over and his 6-yard score gave Pottsboro a 21-7 lead with one second left in the first quarter
After two kickoffs, Pottsboro's two scores after the kicks resulted in field position that only called for them to have to travel a total of 57 yards on both of those particular drives.
Howe's next possession quickly finished by another punt by Wilson. This one, however, resulted in a 52yard Miles Mitchusson punt return that showcased his blazing speed and quick moves Mitchusson, who is the son of former Bulldogs' nose guard Jason Mitchusson, ended the night with three catches for 57 yards The punt return gave Pottsboro a 28-7 lead with 8:17 left in the second quarter
Howe would drive the ball for over four minutes from their own 17 yard line to the Pottsboro 48 before turning it over on downs
Pottsboro took over at their own 48 with 4:09 left in the half Pritchett would then hit Copeland for a 13yard touchdown with 2:32 left which upped the Cardinal lead to 35-7.
Howe's next possession ended up running out the remaining 2:32 before the half
After the normal high-impact performance by the Pride of Howe Bulldog Band, Howe took the first possession of the second half A stingy Cardinal defense resulted in another Wilson punt for Howe
Pottsboro took the ball at their own 16 yard line and drove the ball for over four minutes, but a missed continued on Page #6
