Bonham took over at their own 22 yard line with 8:39 left in the third quarter Howe's defense once again rose to the occasion and played exceptional for the majority of the evening and forced Bonham to punt on their first possession However, the snap on the punt went though the hands of Austin Simmerman who picked it up and found a seam and scurried for a first down The Warriors would capitalize on the mistake and eventually score on another Copeland to Smallwood strike, this one of 29-yards. Bonham's drive was 78 yards and took 3:46 off of the clock. The Bonham score narrowed the Howe lead to 35-14 and left 5:55 on the third quarter clock.

Howe took over possession at the Bonham 47 yard line Jaden Matthews would eventually score his third touchdown of the night on a 6-yarder After Honaker's PAT, Howe led 41-14 with 3:59 left in the third quarter

In Bonham's next possession, Winston Mosse, who Hudson said is a premier strong safety, picked off a Copeland pass with 1:53 left in the third.

The fourth quarter saw very little action with both teams exchanging punts and Howe running in backup players on both sides of the ball Howe finished off the 41-14 win in the victory formation by killing the last 1:22 of the game

Howe's 41 points tied for the second most on opening night The 'Dogs scored 48 vs Blue Ridge in 2009 Howe also scored 41 vs Lone Oak in 1998 in the season opener

With the win, Head Coach Zack Hudson gathered win number 11 at Howe, which ties him with Terry Davis, who went 11-18 from 19931995. A win next week would tie him with Stony Coffman who went 12-28 from 2006-09
