Bonham answered back quickly with a pass and catch from quarterback Kyle Copeland to Corey Smallwood for 64 yards and paydirt Austin Simmerman scored the two-point conversion and Bonham took a surprising 8-7 lead at the 8:30 mark in the first quarter

Howe regained possession at their own 32 yard line where they marched the 68 yards and took 4:09 off the clock Cooper Akins (starting for an injured Stratton Carroll) finished off the drive with an 11-yard touchdown on the slot reverse Honaker's kick gave Howe the lead again at 14-8

The Howe defense stepped up and forced Bonham to punt A nice return gave Howe the ball at the Bonham 45 yard line Facing a fourth down and long situation from the 17 yard line, instead of attempting a 34-yard field goal, Hudson and crew decided to go for it That's when Brent Masters scored his first touchdown of the year to cap off the 45-yard drive with 11:57 left in the second quarter. The drive lasted 3:08 and gave Howe a 21-8 lead after Honaker's extra point.

Bonham would punt yet again and Howe took the ball at their own 35 yard line with 10:38 left in the second quarter 65 yards later, Grisham would score his lone touchdown on the night, a 2-yarder which upped the Howe lead to 28-8 after the PAT at the 6:55 mark

While the offense was rolling, the defense was starting to give Copeland fits with back to back sacks Dylan Moreau and Jacob Taylor flushed Boham backwards inside their own 10 yard line and forced the Warriors to punt
