On Wednesday, the City of Howe used a portion of the $50,000 to start repairing streets The first project took place in the "tree district" with the street repair extending down Ricketts Street from L B Kirby Ave to Mayo Street. Also, they are resurfacing Pecan Street from Farmington Rd to Ricketts Street The crew is also preparing a stretch of Mayo Street to Maple Street.

Grayson County Precinct 1 was contracted by the city to do the resurfacing The city plan is to eventually repair more streets by obtaining a block grant with the remainder of the funds that have been set aside and approved in the budget
