Mayor Stanley was originally appointed to the position in 2008 by the council and then sworn in to his first term in 2009 He came in a time when Howe was on the fringe of bankruptcy

"The city staff did not get along with each other, the surrounding cities, the county agencies, or state agencies." said Stanley in a May, 2014 interview

"We now have very professional employees that work together to find solutions, not problems The city has the respect of the surrounding cities, the county and state agencies The City is putting money in the bank, and not bleeding out And, we are ready for new development "
Bill French will serve another term on the city council, which will be the second of two separate rounds in the seat He also served one term in 2001-2003 French pushed to honor L B Kirby by renaming a street after him
Debbie Lowery will also start her second term on the city council. Lowery spearheaded the efforts to try and land Hawaiian Falls in Howe

Both Bruce Dawsey and Mark Abner are each seeking their third consecutive term as a member of the Howe ISD Board of Trustees.
The current members of the Howe ISD Board of Trustees are Pat Stewart, Greg Akins, Brad Anderson, Clint Catching and Scott Renfro
Since there will be no change with the mayor and city council, the group of council members will remain with French, Lowery, Georgia Richardson, Dennis Bozeman and Sam Haigis.
