Serving the community of Howe since 1963

Howe's That by Monte Walker There is a good feeling going on in downtown these days. The revitalized downtown is coming to fruition. And it took what so many of the previous generation didn't want - outsiders. Jack Leavenworth was raised in Michigan and never met J.J. Chisum. However, he has completely renovated his old building and still calls it the Chisum building. Georgia Caraway is originally from Pennsylvania. She never met Mrs. Stockton, but she owns her store now and guess what's going to be for sale in there? Yeppers, vintage dresses and clothing (along with a lot more). Both Mr. Chisum and Mrs. Stockton, I think, would be thrilled to have the new blood to town. It just so happens that they are movers and shakers. By the looks of things not long ago, earthquakes and tornadoes couldn't have moved and shook this town. But look at us now. Next week's Howe Enterprise will come to you mostly from San Antonio. I would imagine that it is the first time that a Howe Enterprise publication has been mostly gathered and developed five and a half hours away.
