Volume #52, Edition #22
Howe's That The City of Howe will hold their monthly city council meeting tomorrow evening at 6 pm. The time has been changed to 6 pm instead of what used to be the customary 6:30 pm time. Those of you that are readers of The Howe Enterprise know what the different colored boxes are that are being painted on the wall on Denny Street across from the post office. I would imagine that those that don't know find it a little less than appealing and frankly quite ugly. I assure you that when it's all said and done, it'll be something all of Howe can be proud of. It is officially basketball season now for the Howe youth programs. Now that each Howe Youth Football team has been eliminated from the playoffs, the youngsters will now focus on the indoor hoop. The pom poms will be exchanged for high-top sneakers. Although, the 3rd and 4th grade football team will get to suit up together one last time on November 9, when they travel to Arlington to play at AT&T Stadium. They are raising money for the trip by selling raffle tickets for an IPad mini.

Jennifer Adkins tries the football throw In one of Howe's oldest traditions, Howe's Fall Festival was held at the parking lot of Charles R. Thompson Gymnasium on Saturday evening. Many people noticed that the attendance was up heavily from last year. Saturday was the 28th
consecutive year that the event was held on Roberts Street. Prior to that, the event was held in downtown Howe.
The Howe Bulldogs (3-4) not only got back in the win column by dominating Tom Bean on Friday night, but they did it in style with a record-setting performance.
Kids young and old enjoyed everything from the pencil pull to the haunted house in the gymnasium.
Before Friday, no two Bulldog ball carriers had ever rushed for over 250 yards in the same game.

Howe Marching Band receives first division ranking The Howe Marching Band received First Division Ranking for the 31st time in 33 years dating back to the fall of 1981. "That's pretty incredible." says Band Director Angie Liss. "We kind of take them for granted around here. People expect that, but it's not easy. When you think of everything that has to come together to happen to get that."
