Howe Mayor comes up short in JP race; focused on Howe

Akins is valedictorian; Rideout is salutatorian

Since volume one, issue one, howeenterprise.com has seen 77,001 hits from 2,627 different readers. I would say that's a pretty good first two and 1/2 months of business. The month of May saw 39,555 hits with 2,665 visits. In comparison, our first full month of April saw 24,671 hits with 1,985 visits. As Barry Switzer once said, "all that matters is if the arrow is pointing up or down." Thankfully, the arrow is on a really good healthy incline and should stay that way as more people learn about The Howe Enterprise's reemergence. So far, it's no secret, that the key to getting this weekly publication off to such a fast start is due to the vehicle which is Facebook. As of publication time, we have more "likes" at the Howe Enterprise than the Sherman Chamber of Commerce. That can only be attributed to the loyal people that call Howe their home, whether here, or where life has taken them. The Howe Enterprise will always be free to read. And it can be read from all over the world. It just so happens that last week (maybe due to the Tony Brinkley article) that we saw 31 visits from Japan. I can't tell who is reading, but it does tell me how many. Don't worry, I can't tell who you are. All I know is that you're there and loyal to our great city. With all of these numbers, I can report that the state of The Howe Enterprise is strong.

Howe Mayor Jeff Stanley said he was dissapointed but not devastated by his loss to Rita Noel in the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 run-off held last week. Stanley is in his third term as mayor in which he was elected in 2009. The mayor continued on Page #2
