Skipworth to be inducted into Austin College Hall of Honor Sherman’s Austin College will induct the late Tommy Skipworth into its Hall of Honor in July. The longtime Howe Independent School District employee’s contribution to AC athletics prompted the posthumous recognition. Mr. Skipworth passed away in 2005 after a long struggle with cancer. Mr. Skipworth lettered in baseball and basketball, and in 1966-67 was named the Pat E. Hooks Award winner as the men's basketball team's most outstanding player. That same year, he was named the baseball team's MVP. He remains one of only 18 players to have surpassed 1,000 points in men's basketball at Austin College.
