LEADING WITH INTEGRITY
Natasha Simon, lead REALTOR® of The Money Team at Keller Williams Memorial, embodies the saying “Chase your purpose, and success will follow you.”
As the daughter of divorced parents, Natasha watched her mom struggle to buy a house as she grew up. It wasn’t until later in her life that her mom’s dream became a reality, and it was Natasha who sold her mom her very first home.
“To be able to do things like that every day, you can only imagine what that does to your tear ducts,” Natasha shared. “Most of my files are hard. From a credit and income perspective, you would think it would just wear thin on you and lead me to say I want to quit. But I’m brand new every time a file closes.”
It’s moments like that, helping people achieve the dream of home ownership, that galvanize Natasha and her team.
“This has to be my purpose because there’s no way someone is supposed to be able to sustain this long with those kinds of files, the files people throw away daily,” she explained. “God is the per son that is running everything behind the scenes, but I thank Him that he allows me to always sit courtside to my client’s blessings. So I get front-row seats to all of the blessings.”
With a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and a Master of Science in computer science, Natasha brings a fresh

perspective to real estate. Her passion lies in the numbers, and she enjoys drilling down on the data to ensure her clients get the best deal possible.
“That’s why my team is called The Money Team, because we spend your money like we spend our money,” she noted. “I will never let you overpay for the house. Never.”
Natasha’s husband, a loan officer, encour aged her to try real estate after she started offering feedback on deals that he was working on.
She resisted the notion at first, but never one to turn down a challenge, she agreed to take the test. When she passed on the first attempt, she started doing real estate parttime while working full-time as an engineer at HewlettPackard. Her volume quickly grew, and in 2018 she decided to leave her career in technology.
Over the years, she’s assembled a team, convincing her sister and close friends to join her on the journey.
“I basically pulled them all in by their ears,”
Natasha values building up those she cares about and loves the family-like atmosphere they’ve created.
“I’m very, very, very par ticular about who joins my team. They have to fit with my culture. It’s my secret sauce,” Natasha noted.
She holds her team members to the same standards as herself, and integrity is a non-negotiable for everyone. Natasha acknowledges that her type A personality can be intense at times. Her teammates joke, “They’re the golden retrievers, and Natasha is the bulldog.”
But with that intensity comes determination, and Natasha will do whatever it takes to get her clients to the closing table.
“I’m gonna fight tooth and nail, and I’m gonna get it done for you,” she commented.
She approaches real estate like every thing else in life — wanting to be the best and not being willing to settle for less.
Being able to trust her team is one way that Natasha can achieve a healthy work-life balance. Married for 15 years, she and her husband are parents to four boys, and spending time with family is vital to her.
To relax, Natasha enjoys cooking, although she admits her commit ment to excellence sneaks into that aspect of her life.
“When I’m done, and I feed it to whoever — my family, my friends — it has to be amazing,” she said with a laugh.
Her definition of success is doing what you love while maintaining peace and happiness. She has her own professional goals that she
wants to hit, but virtue is more important than numbers.
“If I give up all my money but keep my peace and happiness, I would do it any day of the week,” she shared.
Natasha advises upcoming REALTORS® to do the right thing, regardless of who is watch ing. She’s living proof that doing the right thing pays off.
“Integrity and God’s favor is what sustains us, and it will hold us through any market you could ever throw at us,” she stressed.
As for the legacy she will leave behind, Natasha said, “They’re going to put on my grave: She was here, and she was real. Every day of the week.”

45 Years and Counting WILLIFORD & COMPANY
99% of our work is word of mouth. We have rarely ever had to adver tise. If you screw up, that word of mouth goes south. Everything our employees do is a reflection of me. If we don’t do it right, we don’t stay in
business. That’s why I’m so glad we have a great team.”
The original crew has stayed with Charlie for decades.
“I’m only as good as the people who work for me,” he shared. “One gentleman has been with me for over 40 years. His son, Alan, has worked with us for 20 years as my General Superintendent. He is a great representative when I cannot be there in person. My lead painter has been with me for over 40 years, and his kids work with us now.
So, how does Charlie hold on to employees for that long?
“We treat ‘em good,” he said. “And we trust them. I could leave tomorrow to leave the country, and I don’t have to worry about a thing. My guys can supervise their own jobs.”
Charlie put that to the test years ago when he traveled to Florida for months at a time, working as an insurance adjuster.
“I had to believe that my guys could run their parts of the business efficiently, and they did,” Charlie shared. “After that, we got into insurance resto ration work too.”
Charlie is an understanding and even-tempered leader.
“He tries to be fair and to make everybody happy, but he also demands quality service,” his wife, Rhonda, shared.
Rhonda and Charlie have eight kids who’ve grown into suc cessful, professional adults.
“We’re now reaping the benefits of parenting,” Charlie shared. “We are beyond blessed. We love that they want to hang out with us and enjoy our company.
Five of the kids own their own houses, and the fam ily is looking forward to two weddings soon.
“We are the proud grand parents of five grandkids,” Charlie shared. “Life is busy, and we love every minute of it. Between work and family, there is no idle time, that’s for sure. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“I will do this as long as I can stand,” Charlie contin ued. “My business is my name, and I can’t imag ine doing anything else. Our main goal is to make customers happy and give them what they pay for. That’s what keeps us rolling along: fair-priced, quality work and construc tion you can count on.”
I will do this as long as I am breathing.

RICKEY CHAVEZ
BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS REAL ESTATE, THE RICKEY CHAVEZ TEAM
“I wasn’t doing anything else,” Rickey said.
Then, after another year and a half, his wife was offered a full-time position with the brokerage. So when she stopped selling homes, Rickey started where she left off. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Rickey has now been selling fulltime for about four years, two of those with his team. In what was becoming a family tradition, he talked his daughter Brittany into joining the field, inspiring her decision to leave her corporate job and become the first member of Rickey’s team.
“She runs my office,” Rickey explained. “She’s like her mom; she’s unbelievable.”
HAVING FUN HELPING
By Caitlin Gurtner
Forty years ago, Rickey Chavez started his career in the military. After 20 years of service, he retired and was able to come home to his wife and four children. He then spent another decade and a half in human resources for transportation compa nies, but “after laying off the 400th person, he decided it wasn’t for him.”
Rickey found himself in his second retirement, relaxing around the house and attempting to learn how to play Xbox with his grandkids. His wife, a REALTOR®, viewed his “retirement” as a pause rather than a complete stop.
To her, it was a golden opportunity to try something new. So she con vinced him to get his REALTOR® license. “Just to help with open houses,” she said. “And, well, he’s doing that, so why doesn’t he also show some of her clients around?”
After that, Rickey built up his team of five agents, allowing him to take advantage of the business’ flexible schedule to travel and spend time with his growing fam ily while ensuring that his clients are always well taken care of.
Between Rickey’s experience in the military and his personal principles, he has much to pass on to the agents under his care. His philosophy is simple: Stay true to your authentic self. He hits the lesson home with his team.
“I don’t think people appreci ate people who put on airs,” he explained. “I tell my team, you must be true to yourself, you know? Clients are going through one of the biggest decisions of their life, and so many things revolve around that. They’re moving. Maybe they need to sell the house to pay off debts, or maybe they just lost a family mem ber or got divorced.”
34 • September 2022 Houston Real Producers • 35@realproducers realproducersmag.com be inspired
“There’s a lot of crazy things that go on in peo ple’s lives, and we do our best to help the transi tion,” he simplified.
His team has helped clients pack and move boxes, clean out houses, cut the lawn, do anything they can to help and be there as people for any client who needs it.
The need to serve never faded after his time in the military; it’s a mentality that sticks. Along with helping his clients and team, Rickey also serves his commu nity. His team sponsors a baseball team for the mir acle league, and Rickey is a veteran mentor.
“I feel like sometimes it’s good to know and talk to somebody that’s been through what you’ve been through,” he said, “so I do a lot of mentor ing as far as that goes.”
Rickey remembers his own time just out of the military and how hard it can be to get back into civilian life. But he also knows that “it’s never too late for somebody to do new things.”
Rickey is proof: He obtained his MBA at 46, has had three separate careers and is now in a completely different place than where he started.
Rickey told the story of the years at the start of his marriage: “We were in South Carolina in the military with four kids and on govern ment assistance.”
Now, he can fly his grandkids out to see him and his wife, something unimaginable for them in the early days. Rickey and his wife also choose four places they’d love to visit within the year. They each research their choices, then present their findings to con vince each other that their chosen destina tions should be the top contender for their destination trip.
“I’m fortunate,” Rickey shared. “Somebody helped me when I was growing up, and if I hadn’t had that, I could be running a different life.”
Now, he aims to be that helping hand to others.
“I’m helping people realize they can buy a house — they can buy their own home, and it’s fun.”
This viewpoint is at the forefront of Rickey’s connections with clients, team members and family: Having fun is essential. And that’s the thing. Rickey isn’t doing this out of obligation, need or boredom; he just enjoys it. He’s hav ing fun helping people grow and have better lives, and it’s as simple and inspiring as that.
I FEEL LIKE SOMETIMES IT’S GOOD TO KNOW AND TALK TO SOMEBODY THAT’S BEEN THROUGH WHAT YOU’VE BEEN THROUGH. SO I DO A LOT OF MENTORING AS FAR AS THAT GOES.

Challenges & Consistency
By Megan Taylor-DiCenzo

KELLER WILLIAMS MEMORIAL ANDERSON
Every year, Tara Anderson chooses a word to represent her goals. Over the past year, she chose to focus on the word consistency. She expected the real estate market to be quite unlike anything she and her fellow REALTOR®s had experienced in quite some time, if ever.
sistent passion to serve my clients and do the best for them keeps me going.”
She has encountered demanding situations and difficult homes to sell, but Tara doesn’t give up. Known for her bright, bubbly personality, above-and-beyond spirit, and the one-on-one rela tionships she builds, Tara is a REALTOR® you cannot forget.
Having celebrated nine years in real estate with Keller William Memorial, Tara closed her first five-million-dollar property this year, which was quite a challenge. She said people doubted the house’s marketability given its price point, location, size, and interior décor.
At 20,199 square feet, “it wasn’t the kind of luxury with marble floors and chandeliers,” Tara explained. “It was a rustic luxury.
Very spacious. Tons of amenities. Beautiful views.” She woke up every day asking, “What will I do for this properly today? How do I get people to see what I see? So, I created a great rela tionship with the owners, learning the house inside and out as if it were my own and then marketed the heck of out it.”
It paid off. Next, Tara helped the sellers buy a beautiful 9,000-square-foot property in Costa Rica, right where the rainforest meets the ocean.
“It’s a new opportunity for me,” Tara shared. “If I’ve learned anything from EL Crane of BRPS Title, I learned to take oppor tunities when they come my way. I’m now a co-lister of luxury high-rises in Costa Rica and one of four agents in the US who sells them.”
It’s not only the accessible opportunities Tara takes on but the difficult ones.
Houston Real Producers • 41
“School was tough for me,” Tara shared. “The counselors at my school told my parents I was struggling and likely wouldn’t finish college.”
Years passed, and Tara got married and had kids, but just before she jumped into real estate nine years ago, she grad uated from the University of Houston-Downtown with the help of her husband and family.
“My parents would say, Don’t tell Tara she can’t do some thing. She will find a way to do it!” Tara laughed. “My goal was for my parents to see me walk across the stage, and they did, at the age of 41. Don’t ever give up on your dreams!”
That determination has naturally carried into Tara’s real estate career.
“In this crazy seller’s market, any agent can stick a sign in Cinco Ranch and sell it, and, of course, you do need those easy ones,” Tara said, “but I like the challenge of the diffi cult ones. It makes closing the deal more satisfying.”
Tara certainly had a challenge with her recent buyer client, Monica.
“I wrote sixteen offers for her,” Tara said.
“She was in burnout mode, but we had already sold her house, so we had to move. At one point, I sent her flowers
and said, I know this process has been an emotional roller-coaster for your family. I’m here with you, and the right home will come along. The next week we found a home and went under contract.”
With that kind of customer service, it’s no wonder Tara is in the top 1% out of 700 agents in her office at Keller Williams Memorial.
“My broker gives me the tools to support me and keep me motivated,” Tara said. She also has a transaction coordinator, a virtual assistant, and a marketing assistant.
“They help me with my paperwork so I can be one-on-one with my clients as much as possible,” Tara explained. “I’m a solo agent, but I don’t feel like it. I’m involved in an RMG Collective Real estate group, Platinum1.
We’re from different brokerages from all over the greater Houston area and come together to collaborate.”
Tara has extensive knowledge of lux
building and land development from her previous careers.
“My husband, Wade, and I met when I worked for a builder,” Tara shared. “He encouraged me to try real estate, saying, “Just be you. Just give the customer service you want to give.”
Without the support of her family, Tara insists she wouldn’t be where she is today. Married twenty-one years to Wade, a computer software developer, the couple has two children, Elaine and Cameron. Elaine just found her first fulltime job with benefits, and Cameron is going to college at Texas A&M.
“Cameron sleeps with a tennis racket, and my husband sleeps with a golf club,” Tara joked. “We get together to play golf or tennis. I’m happy that our kids still like being around mom and dad. They can come to us for anything.”
That’s true for every one Tara works with.
“I’m constantly encour aging people to give their time and experience because so many people did that for me, epically here at Keller Williams Memorial,” she shared. “I’m very consistent in giving the same customer service to
my $250,000 clients as I am with my million-dollar ones. I believe everyone deserves the same hard work at all price points, buyer or seller. I always professionally stage my listings and use a professional photographer, not cutting corners. Quality photos are the first impres sion a buyer will have of the home.”
According to Tara, agents should give their photographers more credit for their work.
“Without amazing photos, buyers would not make appointments to see our listings,” she shared. James Allen with JAProPhotos has been her photographer for eight of her nine years as a REALTOR®. “I love that my portfolio has a consistent look at all price points.”
We don’t know what Tara will select as a word to represent next year’s goals, but we know whatever she chooses, she’ll use nonstop com mitment to meet her objectives in the face of any challenge.
I don’t have a dream dollar goal.
I have a goal to help people and do the best I can.

About Farmers
In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.
Why Choose Farmers?
We’ve spent almost 90 years putting customers first. Personalized attention is a hallmark of the Farmers experience.
Our Story
Our story began with the simple goal of insuring the vehicles of rural farmers but as the world changed, so did we. Visit our timeline for a tour through the decades of Farmers.
