La rivera turca en el mediterráneo by Mónica Arango
E
n esta edición nos trasladamos a Turquía, uno de los países del Mediterráneo, con una belleza paisajista y una singular riqueza cultural legado de distintas civilizaciones a lo largo de la historia que la convierten en las delicias de quienes la visitan. Turquía un país extenso entre dos continentes: Europa y Asia, ofrece no solo la modernidad de Ankara su capital y de Estambul – la ciudad mas conocida del país – sino también hermosas costas como la costa suroeste específicamente en la provincia de Antalya, un lugar paradisíaco que comparte una belleza natural semejante a las islas griegas. Su capital homónima es la principal ciudad de esta Rivera turca, moderna, activa, cosmopolita, extensa, conserva su casco histórico en el hermoso barrio de Kaleici con estrechas callejuelas, escalinatas, fachadas con balcones de madera otomanos, altos miradores sobre el mar sin dejar de mencionar la muralla que protegen el viejo puerto.

a Puerta de Adriano conmemora la visita a la ciudad del emperador romano en el siglo II d.C.; el Yivli Minare construido con ladrillo rojo, resto de una iglesia bizantina uno de los emblemas de la ciudad; la Torre del Reloj situada en la plaza Karualioðlu formaba parte de la antigua muralla; la Torre Hidirlik desde donde podemos disfrutar de una vista imponente del golfo de Antalya; el Teatro de Aspendos toda una belleza con sus quince mil asientos este teatro romano fue construido por uno de los arquitectos mas famosos de la antiguedad, Zenón, en el siglo II d.C.

stando en casco histórico de la ciudad disfrutamos de su exquisita gastronomía y como fondo las mejores vistas que ofrecen los restaurantes que se encuentran en el barrio de Kaleici. Lugares como el Seraser Fine Dining Restaurant del Hotel Tuvana que ofrece cocina internacional y turca; Vanilla Lounge cocina contemporánea en Hesapá 33; Castle Café Bar con una hermosa vista al golfo de Antalya y su menú típicamente mediterráneo en Hildirlik 48.

En general la cocina de Antalya es una cocina Mediterráneo Oriental con platos típicos como el “piyaz” una ensalada de judías cebolla, perejil, ajo, nueces y tahina (una pasta de semilla de sésamo); encontramos el “domates civesi” con tomates, pimientos, cebolla, ajos, perejil, arroz y berenjena. En cuanto a las carnes podemos encontrar pollo y vacuno siendo la mas empleada la carne de cordero casi siempre preparada en kebab; el “tander kebab” se elabora con carne de cordero en una vasija bien cerrada y enterrada junto al fuego o en el horno se acompaña con arroz y verduras. Nos dirijimos a la costa con agradables puertos deportivos como Setur sin lugar a dudas la Rivera Turca. Disfrutando también de los monumentos que dejan ver su riqueza cultural nos encontramos el teatro romano Aspendos en el que se realizan todavia festivales de verano. La ciudad licia de Termessos que posee un gran teatro griego. En cuanto a la naturaleza disfrutamos del Parque Natural de las Cataratas Kursunlu a 20 km de la ciudad de Antalya cuyo ultimo salto se produce desde los acantilados sobre el mar en la propia ciudad de Antalya. Navegamos en sus hermosas aguas color turquesa el oeste de Antalya, una de las mas bellas del mediterráneo, visitamos Kas, Kalkán y Simena disfrutando de acantilados donde abundan las grutas y los restos arqueológicos. Tomando uno de los cruceros colectivos que parten desde Cayazgi el puerto de la ciudad costera de Demre, que fue la antigua Myra, donde se conservan unas grandiosas tumbas licias excavadas en la roca, la iglesia bizentina de San Nicolás donde estuvo enterrado el santo que dio origen al mito de Santa Claus y el gran anfiteatro romano. Desde Cayazgi navegamos al archipiélago de Kekova sin construcciones modernas detenida en el tiempo; en las aguas de Kekova mansas y transparentes dejan ver los restos de de la ciudad sumergida de Simena hundida por un terremoto hace 19 siglos, donde algunas antiguas escaleras y tumbas licias todavía emergen del mar.

n el puerto de Ücagiz, punto de reunión de los navegantes, donde se puede subir al castillo de Kaleköy y disfrutar de unas vistas maravillosas sobre la ensenada. En Ücagiz hay restaurantes como el Palmiye en donde se puede disfrutar de una buena ensalada y un exquisito pescado todo frente a las maravillosas aguas turquesas de este lugar paradisíaco.

in lugar a dudas la costa oeste de Turquía ofrece a los amantes de la naturaleza y la cultura lugares de ensueño que dejan descubrir un hermoso país entre dos continentes, cruce de culturas desde la antigüedad. Every year The Costume Institute organizes wonderful exhibitions, which explore different movements in fashion, and how they impact in the life of past and future generations. This year, in collaboration with the Department of Asian Art, a new exhibition will on display; China: Through The Looking Glass. This exhibition will explore how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries, resulting in highly creative distortions of cultural realities and mythologies. High fashion will be juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, as well films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery. From the earliest period of European contact with China in the sixteenth century, the West has been enchanted with enigmatic objects and imagery from the East, providing inspiration for fashion designers from Paul Poiret to Yves Saint Laurent, whose fashions are infused at every turn with romance, nostalgia, and make-believe. Through the looking glass of fashion, designers conjoin disparate stylistic references into a pastiche of Chinese aesthetic and cultural traditions. The exhibition will feature more than one hundred examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear alongside Chinese art. Filmic representations of China will be incorporated throughout to reveal how our visions of China are framed by narratives that draw upon culture, and also to recognize the importance of cinema as a medium through which to understand the richness of Chinese history.

Cada año The Costume Institute organiza maravillosas exhibiciones, que exploran diferentes movimientos en la moda, y como estos impactan en la vida de las pasadas y futuras generaciones. Este año, en colaboración con el Departamento de Arte Asiático, una nueva exhibición será presentada; China: Through The Looking Glass. Esta exhibición explorara como China ha llenada la imaginación de la moda por siglos, resultando en altas distorsiones creativas de la realidad cultural y mitologías. La high Fashion será yuxtapuesta con los trajes Chinos, pinturas, porcelanas, y otras formas de arte, así como films, para revelar un reflejo encantado de la imaginación China. Desde los comienzos del contacto de Europa con China en el siglo dieciséis, el Oeste ha sido encantado con objetos enigmáticos e imaginación del Este, dando inspiración a los diseñadores de moda desde Paul Poiret hasta Yves Saint Laurent, cuya moda estuvo llena del romance, nostalgia, y del hacer creer. A través del cristal de la moda, los diseñadores unen diferentes referencias de estilo dentro una estética China y cultura tradicional. La exhibición contara con más de cien ejemplos de Alta Costura y Ready-to-wear avant-garde junto con arte Chino. Representaciones cinematográficas de China serán incorporadas en toda la exhibición para revelar como nuestra visión de China está enmarcada por narrativas que dibujan una cultura, y también reconocer la importancia del cine como medio a través del cual entender la riqueza de la historia China.

I’m one of those people who is trying to look perfect all the time. For me be perfect is be yourself enhancing the best of you, and that includes your body. I believe that is important certain things to look good, and achieve a perfect look is not something that came magically, is something that requires of work , compromise and care, for example a good alimentation, exercise, meditation and the use of the best products. One part of me that I care a lot is my hair, a good hair is one that looks shinning, strong and of course that smells good – obviously – so on my search to find a good product for my hair a found a hair perfume, yes, probably some of you never heard about a hair perfume. Finding that makes me remind that some girls have the tendency to use regular perfumes for the hair, which is not something really healthy. Why? Because it have alcohol, that can dry your hair.

oy una persona a la cual le gusta estar perfecta todo el tiempo. Para mí, el ser perfecto significa ser tu mismo, resaltando lo mejor de ti, y eso incluye tu cuerpo. Creo que es importante ciertas cosas para lucir bien, y lograr un look perfecto no es algo que se consigue mágicamente, es algo que requiere de trabajo, compromiso y cuidado, como por ejemplo, una buena alimentación, ejercicio, meditación y el uso de los mejores productos. Una parte de mi que cuido mucho es mi cabello, un buen cabello es aquel que luce brillante, fuerte y obviamente que tiene buena fragancia, así que en mi búsqueda por encontrar un buen producto para mi cabello encontré un hair perfume, si probablemente algunos de ustedes no hayan oído hablar de un perfume para el cabello. Encontrarlo me llevo a recordar que algunas chicas tienen la tendencia de usar perfumes regulare para el cabello, lo cual no es algo saludable, Por qué? Porque contiene alcohol, el cual reseca tu cabello. The most personal record I’ve ever made” with that words Florence Welch from the indie group Florence and the Machine, describe their new album “How Big, How Blue. How Beautiful.” And what we can expect in the new album, which was written and recorded throughout 2014, Welch said in a press statement: “I guess although I’ve always dealt with fantasy and metaphor when I came to writing that meant the songs this time were dealing much more in reality. Ceremonials was so fixated on death and water, and the idea of escape or transcendence through death, but the new album became about trying to learn how live, and how to love in the world rather than trying to escape from it. Markus Dravs is the producer of the album, and Welch love him, especially after his work on Björk’s Homogenic, and of course for his way of balance electronic and organic instruments, she also worked along Paul Epworth, him – along Dravs – produced the song “Mother” By far, the group has released only two singles from the new album “What Kind of Man” and St. Jude which video is a continuation from the first. Jamie Dornan, best known as Mr. Grey, is undoubtly a handsome Irish, who has known get inside the hearts of women, thanks to his role in Fifty Shades of Grey. But there are many more things; Jamie Dornan has played characters that are a proof of his high level as an actor. His first role in a film was in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette in 2006, where he played to the Count Axel Fersen, the lover of the Queen Marie Antoinette. In 2009 appeared in the film Shadows in the Sun and in 2008 he got the main role in the film Beyond the Rave. In 2011, he played the role of Sheriff Graham in the TV show Once Upon a Time. Actually he plays the main role of Paul Spector in the TV show The Fall, where he is a serial killer in Belfast. This last role, plus his character in Fifty Shades of Grey, makes that some of us feel like we are “monsters” – borrowing the words of actress Lena Dunham, on the subject – because without doubt his attractive makes look his actions less frightening, or maybe that is what he wants to reveal, for him play to a serial killer in The Fall means “to show that it actually exist” But his talent in the movies maybe can’t be clearly perceived on auditions, according to him “I’m not good on auditions, I do not sell myself very well” revealed in an interview, but in the end the writers, directors, etc, sees something more in him, and they are not wrong. But, returning to my principal question that makes me write this article What makes Jamie Dornan special? The answer is, simply, one that describes all the talented artists, in every performance he has managed to attract the viewer, making us see more than just a smile or a look. That’s the magic of the movies, that factor that makes us get out of our reality, and show us a world where we feel love, terror, sadness, and many other emotions making us to forget that “Hey, that’s is Jamie Dornan”; no, that is Christian Grey or Paul Spector. Jamie Dornan posses that factor, as the writer of The Fall Allan Cubitt explained “You only need to meet Jamie to realize that he has many other things, that just his good looking… He’s a fine mix between masculinity and feminity. You need danger and dark, to be a true star” In his personal life, he is married with the actress and musician Amelia Warner since 2013, and they have a little girl “She is a dream” says Jamie Dornan. Dornan got the role of Christian Grey while his wife was pregnant “We have to get in Toronto and as soon as I knew my wife was going to give birth imminently. Just now I realize how crazy that time was: the shoot, the baby, the way that the work came” But with all that, for him that doesn’t mean that his life has changed, “… the things that I care most are my family and my mates, I love them… I don’t believe that my life will change because those things haven’t”

Pero, retornando a mi pregunta principal que me llevo a redactar este articulo, ¿Qué es lo que hace a Jamie Dornan especial? La respuesta, simple, una que describe a todos los artistas, es talentoso, en todas y cada una de sus interpretaciones ha sabido atraer al espectador, haciéndole ver muchas más allá de una simple sonrisa o mirada. Para eso son las películas, son para que por un momento nos saquen de nuestra realidad, y nos enseñen un mundo en el cual, nos hagan sentir el amor, el terror, y tantas otras emociones haciéndonos olvidar de que ese, es el actor Jamie Dornan; no, ese es Christian Grey, o Paul Spector. Jamie Dornan posee ese factor, como lo explicaba el escritor de The Fall Allan Cubitt “Solo necesitas conocer a Jamie para darte cuenta que el tiene muchas otras cosas más, que solo ser atractivo físicamente…. Es una fina mezcla entre masculinidad y feminidad. Se necesita oscuridad y peligro, también, para ser un protagonista de verdad” En su vida personal está casado con la actriz y músico Amelia Warner desde el 2013, y tienen una niña “Ella es un sueño” decía Dornan. GUSTAV KLIMT AND ADELE BLOCH-BAUER:THE WOMAN IN GOLD NEUE GALERIE NEW YORK April 2, 2015 – September 7, 2015
On April 2, 2015, Neue Galerie New York will open “Gustav Klimt and Adele Bloch-Bauer: The Woman in Gold,” an intimate exhibition devoted to the close relationship that existed between the artist and one of his key subjects and patrons. Included in the exhibition will be a display of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, paintings, related drawings, vintage photographs, decorative arts, and archival material. The show will be on view through September 7, 2015. This exhibition is made possible in part by the Neue Galerie President’s Circle. Conservation of Adele Bloch-Bauer I and support for this exhibition is made possible in part by A. Lange & Söhne. Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) is one of the most important artists of fin-de-siècle Vienna. Trained at Vienna’s Kunstgewerbeschule, Klimt began his career in a traditional and historicist style, but quickly emerged as one of Vienna’s preeminent modern artists, creating ebullient landscapes, striking portraits, and erotic drawings of women. Klimt was a key figure in Vienna’s art scene, and is one whose artistic achievements and mentorship paved the way for painters Oskar Kokoschka and Egon Schiele. The show is organized by Janis Staggs, Associate Director of Curatorial and Publications at Neue Galerie New York. The highlight of this display will be Klimtís stunning 1907 “golden style” portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, as well as related sketches prepared during the four years that he worked on this iconic masterpiece. The exhibition will also feature a number of rare photographs of Klimt and material about the Bloch-Bauer family. Adele Bloch-Bauer possesses the rare distinction as the only person Klimt ever painted twice. Following the outcry surrounding Klimt’ s most controversial public commission -three faculty paintings that were to be installed in the Great Hall of Vienna University (Philosophy, Medicine, and Jurisprudence, 1900-07)- Klimt withdrew from government projects and focused his energies on private portrait commissions of society women from Vienna’s cultural elite.
Ferdinand and Adele Bloch-Bauer assembled one of Vienna’s most renowned art collections, which included paintings by masters of Vienna’s Biedermeier period, modern sculpture, an impressive array of porcelain from the Royal Vienna Porcelain Factory, and a stellar group of works by Klimt, including the two portraits of Adele Bloch-Bauer and also landscapes. The Klimt paintings originally hung in Adele’s private apartment in the couple’s Vienna home. Klimt’s 1907 Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I was acquired for Neue Galerie New York in 2006. At the time of the acquisition, the museum’s President and co-founder, Ronald S. Lauder, stated: “With this dazzling painting, Klimt created one of his greatest works of art.” During the years that Klimt labored over the commission, he spent time in Ravenna, Italy, where he visited the sixth-century Church of San Vitale. He was deeply impressed by the richly decorated Byzantine mosaics of the Empress Theodora and described them as of “unprecedented splendor.” His first portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer incorporates jewel-like areas that resemble semi-precious stones and layers of lustrous gold and silver. A series of lectures will be held in conjunction with this special exhibition, including presentations by scholar Dr. Alessandra Comini, curator of “Egon Schiele: Portraits”; Anne-Marie O’Connor, author of The Lady in Gold: The Extraordinary Tale of Gustav Klimt’s Masterpiece; and Janis Staggs, curator of “Gustav Klimt and Adele Bloch-Bauer: The Woman in Gold.” The Neue Galerie will celebrate Klimt in other parts of the museum as well. Café Sabarsky will feature its special Klimttorte during this period. The Design Shop will offer gold and silver cufflinks designed by Josef Hoffmann for Gustav Klimt, a set produced exclusively for Neue Galerie by First Edition. Capacitive iPad Cover Inko by industrial designer Alexandre echasseriau, is an interesting design is an iPad cover with a tactile keyboard made from leather. The INKO is the collaborative effort between Echasseriau and Bare Conductive, is the combining the skills of a leather worker, a tatto artist and Bare Conductive’s Electric Paint. The conductive paint was directly tattoed in the thickness of the leather, which transmits the electrical signal from the keyboard to the iPad through a miniature Bluetooth transmitting antenna.
