strange to go from sand and palm trees into a concert venue and sing about snow and sleighs, but we love startingourtourhere. Florida is a very special place because the audiences are so passionate there. Not just forjazz, butforallmusic. We have three popular R&B vocalists on tour this year: there's Kenny Lattimore, who is very easy on the eyes; Jonathan Butler, who is my brother from another mother; and Valerie Simpson, who is joining us for theveryfirsttime. Valerieand her late husband were staff writers for Motown and gave us some of the most iconic songs in contemporary music. Plus she kicks ass in the vocal department, so I'm very excited to perform with her. This show will be really goodthisyear.

How will this year's Christmas show appeal to audiences? Well, Christmas music has a way of comforting people. I like to call it "musical comfort food."Peoplewanttohearthe music that makes us feel good, and that's what we offer, both vocally and instrumentally. Especially after the divisive year that we've witnessed this year, I think the country needs some healing. Hopefully we will be able to see some of that healing take place as we endtheyear, andit'smyhope that the Christmas show will be able to bring people together.
