It's always sunny in South Florida, but with the summer almost upon us, it was once again time to shoot our popular Swimsuit/Underwear Edition. With the talents of Dale Stine behind the camera and Oscar A. Novva styling I knew we were set for a great shoot at the beautiful Grand Resort and Spa (special thanks to Front Desk Manager Victor). I would also like to thank the designers: Bnaked, Rufskin, Addicted & ES Collection, Ethan Swimderwear, JCastell Designs, and Andrew Christian, as well as our beautiful models Ali, Brian, Jose, Alberto, Kyle, Tavarius, Carlos, and Emmanuel.

SUMMER HORROR GETS 'CUCKOO' WITH HUNTER SCHAFER

Trans actress and model Hunter Schafer, one of the breakout stars of HBO' s intense teen drama “Euphoria,” is set to shock your summer with the horror film “Cuckoo.” The dark, chaotic thriller from German filmmaker Tilman Singer (2018' s “Luz”) premiered at the Berlin Film Festival to largely positive reviews and found itself picked up for U.S. distribution by coolerthan-cool Neon. It stars Schafer alongside “Downton Abbey” alum Dan Stevens (“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”) and Jessica

Henwick (“Glass Onion”) in a freaky pregnancythemed story set in an Alpine resort. We're told there's a touch of lesbian romance and more than a touch of absolute madness, thanks to Stevens as the psychotic villain delivering an unhinged performance. It'll land in theaters midAugust, which not only makes it a trending horror theme of 2024 (see also: “Immaculate,” “The First Omen”) but also possibly the perfect way to wrap up goth-bikini season (we do

The film doesn't have a title yet but it already has plenty of heat. It's a musical from musician-producer Pharrell Williams, written by Martin Hynes (“Toy Story 4”) and Steven Levenson (Tony Award-winner for “Dear Evan Hansen”), to be directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Michel Gondry (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”), and starring Kelvin

Harrison Jr. (“Elvis”), Academy Award winner Da'Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”), Halle Bailey (“The Color Purple”), Brian Tyree Henry (Oscarnominated for “Causeway”), hip-hop legend Missy Elliott and the recently-added Janelle Monae (“Glass Onion”). Are you ready for Aubrey Plaza's 'Old Ass'?

When you were an 18year-old babyqueer, did you celebrate turning voting age by tripping on mushrooms

and then meeting your future self and resisting their advice? No?

That's because you weren 't the main character in “My Old Ass,” an upcoming coming-of-age fantasy from writer-director Megan Park (the bi-themed film “The Fallout”). The indie feature stars Canadian singer Maisy Stella (“Nashville”) as the teenager on the make for a summer of fun and girl-crushes, and “White Lotus” star Aubrey Plaza as her 39-year-old future self (reminder: teenagers think anyone over 23 is old).

Plaza's character arrives with a warning about an as-yet-unknown young man named “Chad.” And then Chad shows up,

making everything difficult. “My Old Ass,” meanwhile, makes the queer film festival circuit brighter this summer before hitting theaters, so when it comes around take a queer elder to the movies in gratitude.

Julio Torres ''Fantasmas' is celebrating Surrealist Pride

We 've gone over this before but it bears repeating: watch the TV series “Los Espookys” and this year 's indie film “Problemista” from our favorite gay weirdo Julio Torres, because when you ' re finished with those delicious cultural products you 'll be ready for his new HBO/Max comedy miniseries

“Fantasmas” to liven up your Pride month. The sixepisode series stars its creator as a fictionalized version of himself on a New York City dreamquest for a lost earring. Along the way he 'll encounter questions related to the nature of existence and reality, as well as unusual characters who may help or hinder his journey. The supporting cast has been impeccably selected, with people like Steve Buscemi, Ziwe, Kim Petras, and “Uncut Gems” star Julia Fox showing up to be strange wit h Torres. It drops sometime in June (no specific date given just yet), the right month to be unusually queer.

2 Annual Pageants/Contests:

• The Annual Miss Gay Days Pageant, hosted by Twila Holiday (your reigning Entertainer of the Year) and Chantel Reshae (both former Miss Gay Days) takes place on Saturday, June 1 at 5pm where contestants will be vying for the crown, cash prizes, and the opportunity to represent Gay Days at parties and festivals throughout the following year. Although this is the night where the contestants compete on stage, they will be showing off their talents throughout various events during the week! I sat down and asked to last year's winner, Miss Gay Days 2023, Jade Foxx, how her reign was and she said: "Honestly I can't say how fabulous my reign was, but what I can say is that I have been afforded an opportunity to touch lives. That was the most important reason for me to compete. Because to some drag queens are vilified, but I was able to show that a true heart can touch many. And it meant everything to me."

• The 7th annual Mr. Gay Days Leather Competition will take place on Sunday, June 2 at 1pm hosted by Jeffrey Wayne and Twila Holiday. The next Mr. Gay Days Leather will get to represent Gay Days at various events and prides in the coming year and go to compete at International Mr. Leather 2025 in Chicago! You know how in all pageants and contests they say how important the 1st runner up is, well in this

case its true as Tony Vega stepped in to take over the title. I asked Tony how it's been to be MR Gay Days Leather and he said: "My reign has been a bit short lived. As I only got the title at the end of January. Although, I was competing and won Mr. LA Leather Bear 2024, I received the Gay Days title the same weekend. So, having both has been exciting but also a lot of work and responsibility."

RED takes place at House Of Blues at Disney Springs and stars DJ Ana Flor with heart thumping sound and euphoric visuals, grab your friends and join them for the game! I spoke to Ana Flo to ask her about her thoughts about DJing at Red and she said: “If I say I'm excited, I will be lying. I am radiant, very happy and honored with the invitation. Being part of this fabulous team of DJs that I have admired for so long and also receiving the main party as a gift is something magical and challenging. Can't wait ! To be honest, I still don't know what to expect from my set. Hahaha I mean, I have been organizing folders and collecting songs that I consider suitable for a beautiful musical journey for a long time. I will have enough time to tell a story and I want to deliver joy, emotion, strength, and personality. I don't prepare anything beforehand, it's the connection with the audience and the energy of the event that guide me in each set I play. But I do love

mixing old songs in new versions with current ones; this will definitely happen. Hope I can surprise the crowd with some tracks that I'm working on especially for the event.”
