'Feud' returns
We loved Ryan Murphy's limited series “Feud” with Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, and we wondered what might come next. And now there's an answer: “Feud: Capote's Women,” based on the bestselling non-fiction book by Laurence Leamer, “Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era.” It'll tell the

board for this project? Tom Hollander ( “Pride and Prejudice”) as Capote, which makes sense. But we all know Murphy loves his actresses, so he's giving us, for starters, Chloë Sevigny, Naomi Watts, Diane Lane and Calista Flockhart. Acclaimed queer playwright Jon Robin Baitz is on the script and Gus Van Sa nt will direct. More casting news will come later, and production is set to begin this autumn in New York for a 2023 air date. Now, who wants to jumpstart a project as gay as this? Anyone? We'll wait.
Ariana DeBose chops it up in 'House of Spoils' In March 2020, “Blow the Man Down,” a black comedy/thriller from writersdirectors Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, quietly dropped on Amazon Prime as the world was

preoccupied with a global pandemic. If you missed it then, it's still streaming and it's a smart and funny bit of wickedness. And once you see what these women can do, you'll have more reason to look forward to their next project, “House of Spoils,” a psychological thriller starring Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, the queer actor who is currently, and justifiably, everywhere at once. DeBose plays a chef opening her first restaurant on a remote estate, where her challenges include the usual kitchen troubles… and a ghost on a mission of vengeance. It could happen. Look, it's the one plot point “The Bear” forgot to toss into its stew, so if it hits our plates with a side of flying butcher knives and at least one haunted risotto, we'll be checking it out.
'The People's Joker' is coming to make fanboys confused Vera Drew is a transgender comedy force who, until recently, has produced, directed, and written behind the scenes with comedy's weird wave, alongside stars like Eric Andre, Sacha Baron Cohen and Tim Heidecker. After building up a strong
resume on shows like “Who is America?” and flatly insane cult projects like the surreal series “Beef House,” it's time for Drew's first feature-length film, “The People's Joker,” premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. Fully unauthorized by DC Comics, the film stars Drew as a failed clown dealing with gender identity, a Gotham City where comedy is illegal, a fascist caped crusader, and some parody versions of other villains you may recognize. Made during the first part of the pandemic and featuring a lo-fi aesthetic and cast members like Heidecker and Sarah Sherman from “Saturday Night Live,” this one looks like the perfect antidote to poisonous online comics fanboy culture. We can't wait.
Zoe Tarakes and Shea Couleé will queer up 'Ironheart' Earlier this summer we told you that “Judas and the Black Messiah” co-star Dominique Thorne would be stepping into the title role of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe series for Disney+, “Ironheart.”
Her character, Riri, is a teenage inventor genius who creates a power suit more iron than Iron Man's. That's when Tony Stark steps in to collaborate. Marvel was looking to add major queer characters to this series, as well, and now they've found two. Transmasculine actor Zoe Terakes — whose roles to date have included playing a trans inmate on the Australian prison drama, “Wentworth,” and a supporting role on the bonkers limited series, “Nine Perfect Strangers” — has stepped into an unspecified role here (details are never very forthcoming from the MCU; they hate spoilers even more than their fans).
Meanwhile,“ RuPaul's Drag Race” alum Shea Couleé has also been cast, and that's exciting because, unless we're forgetting something, there has yet to be a drag presence in the MCU. And we want one. The series is in production and a premiere date will be announced whenever they decide we're ready for that.

Beyoncé's seventh solo album is single-handedly ushering in a new wave of dance and house music, proving once again that she is the queen. Every sound, lyric, and transition on Renaissance is perfection with samples and collaborations by some of the most iconic names in the underground including Grace Jones, Kevin Aviance and Big Freedia. Bey also borrowed heavily from Donna Summer, incorporatin g "I Feel Love" in the album's final track. It is the second time she has pulled from the disco diva. "Naughty Girl," from her solo debut, takes pieces from Summer's "Love to Love You," another gay anthem.
With dancefloors hotter than ever, music artists are eager to capitalize on the club craze with new beats of their own. Whatever you're into — from bubble gum pop to hard tribal beats — there is sure to be something to get down to this season. Here are some of the best.
Kristine W
• “Can't Look Back”
One of the original dance divas, hailed by Billboard Magazine as Dance Artist of the Decade, returns with the first single from her soon-to-be released album. At its core, the track is a lush, soulful house groove that provides the perfect platform for Kristine's powerful vocals. Its message is to rise up and appreciate the day because looking back isn't going to heal the past. A global team of producers including James Hurr, J Squad's Joey Mosk and Joel Dickinson, Beyond Chicago and Tony
By Shane Gallagher
Moran all flavor the track with their personal styles of house beats and EDM, ensuring the track will continue playing across every imaginable dance floor long into the winter.
Joey Diamond & Jace M
•
“Tearin' Up My Heart”
Miami-based singer Joey Diamond and Miami-based DJ Jace M are bringing back pre-millennial beats to dancefloors this fall with their re-imagining of *NSYNC favorite “Tearin' Up My Heart.” While their version pays homage to the original, it takes the song in a new direction, incorporating
houe and disco elements for an uplifting club sound. Along with the radio edit, Jace M has called upon some of the biggest remixers and producers in the club industry to release their own versions of their track. The remix package includes eleven mixes of varying sounds from techno to hard tribal, making the track suitable for every dance floor. There is even an acoustic mix with a huge orchestral movement!
Stewart Taylor • “Maybe We Shouldn't Talk”
If there is one thing Stewart Taylor has learned in his years as a young adult, it's
the importance of walking away from unhealthy relationships. He sings about it in “Maybe We Shouldn't Talk”, his catchy true-to-life pop tune about breaking ties with an ex-lover. “My ex and I argued over anything and everything,” Taylor admits. “If there was a boundary that I set, he would cross it every time. I'm not saying he was a bad person. I did things, too, that hurt the relationship. It's just that we all have our demons. I didn't respond well to his and he didn't respond well to mine. Some people simply shouldn't be together.” But as another Taylor can attest to, bad relationships make great music.
The Oracle • “Cloud 9 Angel”
For those seeking a more celestial out-ofthis world groove, THE ORACLE returns with “Cloud 9 Angel”, their magical, dreamy, ethereal track that offers a moment of surreal escapism while celeb rating the abundance of nature. The track is the final release off Lost Amulet, Thr Oracle's debut EP that received critical acclaim for its soaring vocals, futuristic sounds, and deeply emotional narratives. “Cloud 9 Angel” stands apart from the other moody tracks on the EP with its hopeless romanticism
and naivete of the lyrics and sound. No other track on the EP features the bouncy glitches, progressive drums, and soaring melodies that carries “Cloud 9 Angel”.
JR Price • “Nightmare” (Casa de Galindo Galaxy Mix)
The title track to JR Price's sophomore album is about realizing a person once considered a dream is, in actuality, a nightmare. Where the album version has
deep emotional elements that bring tears to the eyes, the Casa de Galindo Galaxy Mix takes the song to a new level. It is full on techno with super high energy and high bpm. It's less crying over the devastation of a failed relationship and more about letting the rage out. It's one for all the vengeful boys in mesh shirts who want to air their grievances under a neon lit disco ball.
Bobby Newberry • “Blackout”
Bobby Newberry knows that the real party starts when the lights go out. He returns to the dancefloor with the fourth single from his upcoming EP. Written by Newberry and produced in collaboration with th3ory, the single is his most dance
driven house track yet. It's a hardpounding, sultry ride that flips at the end with a surprise half tempo vibe-changer. When asked if he's ever experienced a blackout in real life, Newberry admits that he has. “Especially when I'm in Miami. It's like I leave my off button at home. I want hang out and dance all night. I wake up with a big headache and no memory about how I got to wherever I am.” We know the feeling, Bobby.

FIVE WEIGHT TRAINING EXERCISES
THAT GUARANTEE RESULTS!
Whether your goal is to pack on muscle, lose fat, or simply build a healthy, sexy body, there are certain weight training exercises that need to be a part of every guy's routine. With these basic lifts you don't need to throw a lot of weight around. It's all about performing each rep of each set with good form and perfect technique. Here are five exercises every
man should master. Try 3-4 sets of eight to twelve reps twice per week for guaranteed results!
Squats are king. Whether you want to drop weight, build strength, or increase natural testosterone production, it all starts with the squat. Begin simply with body weight squats or exercise ball squats against the wall and
102 | HotspotsMagazine.com
get the form down perfectly. Consult a personal trainer, look up a tutorial online, check out how other guys do it, then proceed to the squat rack with confidence!
Bench presses rule. When you think strength training and bodybuilding, there's probably no better exercise than the bench press for targeting chest, back and arms. Getting proper form down is not hard, but essential. You're merely picking up weight- barbells or dumbbells- and pushing them up above your head and chest as you lie flat on a bench. When you lower the weight, keep elbows parallel to the floor, then push up forcefully with all of your might. As with any of these exercises, it's always safer to have a spotter once you start tackling heavier weights.
Deadlifts promote brute strength. This is the simplest lift you can do – you're merely picking up as much weight as you can and putting it down again. There are many ways to perform deadlifts, with dumbbells, a barbell, etc. Just make sure to bend the knees, lift with core, butt and legs
and be careful about your lower back.
The power clean or hang clean lift develops upper body like no other lift. A bit more complica ted, but incredibly effective, this exercise may take practice to learn the form, so begin with a light barbell and give yourself plenty of space. Basically, you're picking up a weight off the floor, hoisting it to your waist, and then under your chin, and finally back down to the floor.
Rows build boulder shoulders and a strong back. There are many ways to do this exercise – with a barbell, dumbbells, rope attachments or on machines. You can perform it standing or seated. Basically, you're just mimicking the movement you'd do if you were rowing a boat, pulling weight toward yourself.
Push-ups are great and they can be performed easily anywhere anytime. You may not be able to perform one of these at first, but just keep at it. Start with modified pushups against the wall, then push-ups on the floor. Bench presses and power clean lifts will help to build and strengthen upper body and soon you'll be blasting chest and shoulders with sets and sets of push-ups.
Always remember to keep your workouts consistent. Keep your routines interesting, be mindful of good form and keep these 5 exercises in mind whenever you go to the gym and expect results.

& JAY REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
By Andreus Quinones
Dear Andreus, My boyfriend and I have been together for ten years. He keeps telling me that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. I suggested we get married because I feel the same way, especially after all this time. The problem is that he doesn't want to get married. He says that he does not believe in marriage, and it should not change things. For me, I feel like marriage is the next step, and if we are going to spend our lives together then it is a true sign of security. Am I missing something?
Sincerely, Abner S. Dear Abner, I agree that it would seem like marriage would be the next step. However, if he does not believe in marriage, there is nothing wrong with that. Yes, it is a symbol of love and some paperwork –
but like anything, there are no guarantees. People do like that sense of security, but that does not promise a lifetime with someone. Marriages break just like relationships. Though you want marriage, my response is – If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. Obviously, you guys have something special after ten years. Enjoy it, nurture it. You already have something that a lot of people are looking for.
Dear Andreus, After 2 years, my boyfriend and I seem like we are going to break up. When we met, I was planning on transitioning. He told me that he would support me 100%, because he was more attracted to women, since he was married before. Recently, after much thought, I decided that I did not want to transition, and he told me that if I wasn't –then he was leaving me. I don't know how to feel about this. He has been with me all this time; I cannot believe that my decision is going to end us. What do I do?
Sincerely, Francis P. Dear Francis, What do you do? Well, that is clearly up to you. If it were me, I would let him go. He has been with you this long without pre-transition, so the assumption would be that there were genuine feelings involved. If he has been staying just based on you eventually transitioning, then the relationship was not built on genuine feelings about the authentic you. If you truly love someone or want to be with someone, then you accept their truth, and you embrace them living in their truth. His decision to leave means that he cannot accept your truth, and better that you know that now. I am sorry things have happened this way, but maybe the Universe has something better in store for you.
