The best is yet to come! Early in 2017 we will be rolling out big improvements as well as new and better ways to give you all the local entertainment, nightlife, dining, lifestyle and shopping information you need across multiple platforms – in the pages of our magazines in South and Central Florida as well as via the Hotspots app on your hand-held devices and via our web sites on your laptop or computer. Our annual holiday party this year has been impacted by the unavailability of the two venues we typically use to accommodate this large event. We have decided, therefore, to wait until sometime early in the New Year to host our annual community event – and introduce you to something new and exciting we're adding to the Hotspots Media family. Stay tuned!

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving. Peter Clark Publisher

What is TRUVADA for PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis)? TRUVADA is a prescription medicine that can be used for PrEP to help reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 infection when used together with safer sex practices. This use is only for adults who are at high risk of getting HIV-1 through sex. This includes HIV-negative men who have sex with men and who are at high risk of getting infected with HIV-1 through sex, and male-female sex partners when one partner has HIV-1 infection and the other does not. Ask your healthcare provider if you have questions about how to prevent getting HIV-1. Always practice safer sex and use condoms to lower the chance of sexual contact with body fluids. Never reuse or share needles or other items that have body fluids on them.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION What is the most important information I should know about TRUVADA for PrEP?

Before taking TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce your risk of getting HIV-1 infection: u You must be HIV-negative. You must get tested to make sure that you do not already have HIV-1 infection. Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 unless you are confirmed to be HIV-negative. u Many HIV-1 tests can miss HIV-1 infection in a person who has recently become infected. If you have flu-like symptoms, you could have recently become infected with HIV-1. Tell your healthcare provider if you had a flu-like illness within the last month before starting TRUVADA for PrEP or at any time while taking TRUVADA for PrEP. Symptoms of new HIV-1 infection include tiredness, fever, joint or muscle aches, headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, night sweats, and/or enlarged lymph nodes in the neck or groin. While taking TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce your risk of getting HIV-1 infection: u You must continue using safer sex practices. Just taking TRUVADA for PrEP may not keep you from getting HIV-1. u You must stay HIV-negative to keep taking TRUVADA for PrEP. u To further help reduce your risk of getting HIV-1: • Know your HIV-1 status and the HIV-1 status of your partners. • Get tested for HIV-1 at least every 3 months or when your healthcare provider tells you. • Get tested for other sexually transmitted infections. Other infections make it easier for HIV-1 to infect you. • Get information and support to help reduce risky sexual behavior. • Have fewer sex partners. • Do not miss any doses of TRUVADA. Missing doses may increase your risk of getting HIV-1 infection. • If you think you were exposed to HIV-1, tell your healthcare provider right away. u If you do become HIV-1 positive, you need more medicine than TRUVADA alone to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time.

TRUVADA can cause serious side effects:

u Too much lactic acid in your blood (lactic acidosis),

which is a serious medical emergency. Symptoms of lactic acidosis include weakness or being more tired than usual, unusual muscle pain, being short of breath or fast breathing, nausea, vomiting, stomach-area pain, cold or blue hands and feet, feeling dizzy or lightheaded, and/or fast or abnormal heartbeats. u Serious liver problems. Your liver may become large and tender, and you may develop fat in your liver. Symptoms of liver problems include your skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow, dark “tea-colored” urine, light-colored stools, loss of appetite for several days or longer, nausea, and/or stomach-area pain. u You may be more likely to get lactic acidosis or serious liver problems if you are female, very overweight (obese), or have been taking TRUVADA for a long time. In some cases, these serious conditions have led to death. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of these conditions. u Worsening of hepatitis B (HBV) infection. If you also have HBV and take TRUVADA, your hepatitis may become worse if you stop taking TRUVADA. Do not stop taking TRUVADA without first talking to your healthcare provider. If your healthcare provider tells you to stop taking TRUVADA, they will need to watch you closely for several months to monitor your health. TRUVADA is not approved for the treatment of HBV.

Who should not take TRUVADA for PrEP?

Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP if you already have HIV-1 infection or if you do not know your HIV-1 status. If you are HIV-1 positive, you need to take other medicines with TRUVADA to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time. Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP if you also take lamivudine (Epivir-HBV) or adefovir (HEPSERA).

What are the other possible side effects of TRUVADA for PrEP? Serious side effects of TRUVADA may also include:

u Kidney problems, including kidney failure. Your healthcare

provider may do blood tests to check your kidneys before and during treatment with TRUVADA for PrEP. If you develop kidney problems, your healthcare provider may tell you to stop taking TRUVADA for PrEP. u Bone problems, including bone pain or bones getting soft or thin, may lead to fractures. Your healthcare provider may do tests to check your bones. u Changes in body fat, which can happen in people taking TRUVADA or medicines like TRUVADA. Common side effects in people taking TRUVADA for PrEP are stomach-area (abdomen) pain, headache, and decreased weight. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that bother you or do not go away.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking TRUVADA for PrEP? u All your health problems. Be sure to tell your healthcare

provider if you have or have had any kidney, bone, or liver problems, including hepatitis virus infection.

Please see Important Facts about TRUVADA for PrEP including important warnings on the following pages.

u If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not

known if TRUVADA can harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant while taking TRUVADA for PrEP, talk to your healthcare provider to decide if you should keep taking TRUVADA for PrEP. Pregnancy Registry: A pregnancy registry collects information about your health and the health of your baby. There is a pregnancy registry for women who take medicines to prevent HIV-1 during pregnancy. For more information about the registry and how it works, talk to your healthcare provider. u If you are breastfeeding (nursing) or plan to breastfeed. Do not breastfeed. The medicines in TRUVADA can pass to your baby in breast milk. If you become HIV-1 positive, HIV-1 can be passed to the baby in breast milk.

u All the medicines you take, including prescription and over-

the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. TRUVADA may interact with other medicines. Keep a list of all your medicines and show it to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine. u If you take certain other medicines with TRUVADA for PrEP, your healthcare provider may need to check you more often or change your dose. These medicines include ledipasvir with sofosbuvir (HARVONI). You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.FDA.gov/medwatch, or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Cirque du Soleil p re s e n t s K u r i o s – Cabinet of Curiosities which will be performing under the iconic blue-and-yellow Big Top next to the Hard Rock Stadium beginning December 10, 2016 through January 29th 2017. Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities is Cirque du Soleil's 35th production since 1984. Cabinets of curiosities are the ancestors of museums, also known as cabinet of wonder in the Renaissance Europe. Aristocrats, members of the merchant class and early practitioners of science formed collections of historical relics, works of art or mysterious travel souvenirs or artefacts. Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities has a cast of 46 artists from 15 different countries. About 60% of the artists have already worked with Cirque du Soleil before. Cirque all started in Baie-Saint-Paul, a small town near Québec City in Canada. There, in the early eighties, a band of colorful characters roamed the streets, striding on stilts, juggling, dancing, breathing fire, and playing music. They were Les Échassiers de Baie-Saint-Paul (the Baie-Saint-Paul Stilt walkers), a street theatre group founded by Gilles Ste-Croix. Already, the townsfolk were impressed and intrigued by the young performers. The troupe went on to create Le

Club des talons hauts (the High Heels Club), and then, in 1982, organized La Fête foraine de Baie-Saint-Paul, a cultural event in which street performers from all over met to exchange ideas and enliven the streets of the town for a few days. La Fête foraine was repeated in 1983 and 1984. Le Club des talons hauts attracted notice, and Guy Laliberté, Gilles Ste-Croix and their cronies began to cherish a crazy dream: to create a Québec circus and take the troupe travelling around the world. In 1984, Québec City was celebrating the 450th anniversary of Canada's discovery by Jacques Cartier, and they needed a show that would carry the festivities out across the province. Guy Laliberté presented a proposal for a show called Cirque du Soleil(Circus of the Sun), and succeeded in convincing the organizers. Cirque du Soleil hasn't stopped since, and is now a major Québec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has close to 4,000 employees, including 1,300 artists from more than 50 different countries. Cirque du Soleil has brought wonder and delight to close to 160 million spectators in more than 400 cities in over sixty countries on six continents.

Nico Baixas Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities takes place in an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must first learn to close our eyes. In his larger-than-life curio cabinet, the Seeker is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. A

collection of other worldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world. When the outlandish, benevolent characters turn his world upside down with a touch of poetry and humor in an attempt to ignite the Seeker's imagination, his curios jump to life one by one before his very eyes. Written and directed by Michel Laprise, Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed. The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker's Cabinet of Curiosities. Since the debut of Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities, the critics have been raving across North America, so it was a pleasure to sit down with Nico Baixas, who plays the Accordion Man in Kurios for this exclusive Hotspots Interview.

At what age did you start performing and when did you know it was going to be your career?

I started performing when I was 3 years old, and I didn't know it was going to be my career until I was 26. Acting makes you realize so much about yourself, and it took me until 26 to decide that this is what I needed to do for the rest of my life.

You are a writer, actor, performer, and hand puppeteer. Which do you like best and why?

I most like being a hand Puppeteer, it's something ver y unique. In addition people tend not to realize how much they can do with their hands. I have parents come up to me all the time telling me that there kids are playing with their hands ever since they saw the show. That gives me a lot of joy. I started to perform with my hands because my grandparents were deaf and I needed to learn how to do sign language. The hand puppetry came from there.

Tell us about the Accordion Man and how he fits into What was the first Cirque show you saw, and when did you the show? know you wanted to a part of the Cirque family? The first Cirque show I saw was Algeria and it was mind blowing. I knew from the first moment I saw this show that I wanted to be part of the Cirque family. It was my dream and now I am living it.

The characters in Kurios come from another dimension and they are very extreme. My character, the Accordion, connects very well with the children that come see the show. He is sensitive, and naïve and I do my best to perform it that way.

What should the south Florida audience expect out of Kurios and how does it differ from other Cirque shows?

I think Kurios brings back something Alegria had, it's a very mind blowing show. Cirque has its own language, but Kurios rewrote the language and takes it to another level. It's a very human show and people relate and connect to the characters very easily. The show has so much creativity and makes you imagine new futures, and that is something very important right now. Kurios reflects a positive approach on humans and what we can do together. It makes you proud. Tickets range in price from $39 - $160 and are available by visiting cirquedusoleil.com/kurios or calling 1-8779 CIRQUE (1-877-924-7783). The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world. Wilton Manors Comes Together For

December 1st Remembrance Walk kicks off at Hagen Park at 7pm In this moment in US History, it is more important than ever that we come together as a community to continue to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. To that goal, the entire community is invited to join together for the annual World AIDS Day Vigil & Remembrance Walk on December 1, 2016. Participants are invited to meet at Hagen Park in Wilton Manors prior to the start of the walk, which will step-off at 7:00 p.m. The walkers will proceed north on Wilton Drive to 9th Avenue where they will turn toward Dixie Highway. The Walk will conclude with a brief Vigil at the Pride Center at Equality Park and will include a performance by the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida. Free parking will be available for par ticipants in the Hagen Park and Richardson Park lots from 6:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. World AIDS Day has been recognized internationally since 1988 with a variety of events held across the globe to raise awareness, decrease stigma, remember those who have died from HIV/AIDS and to stand in unity with those currently infected and affected. In Broward County 1 in 78 individuals over the age of 13 are HIV+. Since 1981 there have been more than 637,000 deaths in the U.S.

and 35 million globally. Currently, there are more than an estimated 1.2 million individuals in the U.S. living with HIV and 1 in 6 do not know they are positive. From 2002 to 2012, expanded access to HIV treatment averted 4.2 million deaths globally and contributed to a 58% reduction in new HIV infections. However, many of the obstacles that have long impeded effective HIV prevention and treatment programs still exist today. More than 60% of people living with HIV remain without antiretroviral therapy; including women and girls, men who have sex with men, transgender people, sex workers, young people, and people who use drugs and other marginalized groups remain under-prioritized in the response; investments in HIV prevention research appear to have flattened; and widespread violations of human rights including criminalization continue to undermine effective responses. We must now draw attention to those being left behind. We must also keep up the pressure on our law makers right here at home in Florida to push them to continue the fight to stop the spread of the virus. Please join in the march to show that you haven't forgotten those who lost the battle, and that you won't give up on those who continue to live with HIV/AIDS.

The Final Three

By Scott Holland

T

he final episode started with three guys left: Brandon, Eric and Dillon. It is announced the guys will leave the house and they are all off to Palm Springs. Robert and the guys go into the pool to chat and bond and while there Robert took that opportunity to tell the guys that while in College he became an escort for many years. All three are understanding of the situation and make Robert feel good about sharing. The four of them then paint the Rainbow flag on a street in Palm Springs and when they are down they slip over it. While skipping Brandon snaps a tendon as has t be taken to the hospital. It has been clear to me for weeks that Robert and Dillon have no connection or chemistry. I still haven't figured out why Robert kept Dillon around, but Dillon finally realizes that his connection with Robert isn't as strong as Brandon's and Eric's and questions Robert about it. When Robert agrees, Dillon bows out. Robert then has incredible dates with both Eric and Brandon. For the last few weeks the chemistry between Brandon and Robert was palpable and I thought for sure he would be

the one Robert picked, but I was wrong as Robert picked Eric. It was a pleasure to sit down with the final three for this Hotspots exclusive Interview:

Dillon

Dillon

What made you decide to apply to be on Finding Prince Charming?

I was approached to do it by the casting

firm. They approached me a couple of times and talked me into it. I was nervous at first.

How did you feel when you found out you got cast?

When I found out I was excited. For one, it's the first all gay dating show ever so I was really excited to be one of the 13 suitors.

What was it like when you got the tie?

When I got my tie for the first time, it was nerve-wracking because it was so freaking hot and I wanted some air conditioning. But, I was excited because I wanted to spend more time in the house getting to know Robert and the guys. Even though my thing was “I wasn't here to make friends” I wanted to see more of what the guys and Robert had to offer.

Brandon

Do you feel you were a little confrontational with some of the guys?

I don't feel I was confrontational. I feel that they were nervous with me because they knew I was there for a competition show. In my mind, they thought I was competition. In their mind, I wasn't there to make friends. In the end, I was there on a dating show. I wasn't there to find my “charming best friend”.

If you had to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?

If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would do differently is pack more clothes. Not knowing how long you're going to be there and the dates you're going to go on made it hard to prepare. I personally enjoyed my personality on the show. I wouldn't change it at all, it kept the guys on their toes and shook them up a little bit.

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show?

Something you did not see on the show is that I'm a very vulnerable and sensitive person. That is another reason why people didn't see me open up. I was nervous about getting hurt. I rather be seen as a snake then a little whiney bitch.

If someone wants to get in touch with you, how would they? Facebook? Etc???

@Dillonapowell is my Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and ever y other channel. http://dillonapowell.com/ is where you can contact me about my clothing line.

Brandon

How did you feel when you found out you got cast?

It felt like a good fit for me so I was super excited. I was desperately needing an adventure and I got one!

What was it like when you got the tie?

It's truly hard to remember the first tie, I was just still happy and excited, because it was so new and every aspect was bright and shiny.

Was it hard to share with Robert and the world your sobriety?

I literally talk about it every day. Most people think its strength and courage to be open about it, but for me it's one of the most treasured qualities about my life now.

Were you in love with Robert?

True love definitely comes with intimacy and there is no short cut to intimacy. Intimacy requires time and space to grow toward each other, but I was deeply connected and the scenario requires one to be hyper-focused on one person so it quickens the emotional pace. I will say that my feelings for him were the strongest I've had with anyone I've dated in years.

Did you know he would pick Eric or did you think he would pick you?

I couldn't quite picture who he'd choose, but I knew how he felt about me, too.

If you had to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?

I wouldn't go skipping on a rainbow sidewalk! Ouch.

Eric

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show?

One of the more meaningful moments was when Robert and Robby asked me to bless the brunch for all the men so we all joined together and did a prayer. Never in my life did I think I would pray on a reality TV show with 13 other gay men, but there ya have it.

If someone wants to get in touch with you, how would they? Facebook? Etc??? Twitter and Instagram @BrandonKneefel

Eric

What made you decide to apply to be on Finding Prince Charming?

Well, I did not apply I was scouted by someone in casting. This was the Year of Yes. I decided to say yes to all the things that scare me so I said, “yes", and here I am.

How did you feel when you found out you got cast?

I was excited and terrified all that the same time. I went straight to the gym.

What was it like when you got the tie?

When I got my first tie the first night we were there I was relieved.

Was it hard to share with Robert and the world that you were Poz? It wasn't hard to make the decision to tell Robert or the world, but when it came down to the moment it was very intense. Being so openly accepted by my peers and especially Robert deepened my connection to him.

Did you fall in love with Robert?

I was falling for Robert, I often times think that if we would have met under normal circumstances I wouldn't have fallen so fast. I doubt, my feelings would have been that intense. We shared a lot about ourselves with each other and all the people around us. Doing this created a strong bond between the two of us.

Did you know he would pick you or did you think he would pick Brandon?

I honestly had no idea. I was prepared for him to choose Brandon and wanted to be happy for

them if he did. I tried not to hang on so tightly to whether or not he chose me, so that I would not be so disappointed.

Are you guys still dating, and if so do you think you have a future with Robert?

Robert is still a part of my life. I have nothing but love and respect for him. We are both letting things die down a little and get back into our normal way of lives. We are both focused on our careers, activism, families and getting ready the holidays.

If you had to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?

No. I would have brought an iPod to listen to music. I learned so much about myself doing this show.

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show?

DANCING and SINGING!!! Me and the other guys in the house would dance and sing all over the place but you don't see much of that. If someone wants to get in touch with you, how would they? Facebook? Etc??? I am @ericjleo across all Social Media Platforms. Website: www.ericleonardos.com

32ND ANNUAL WHITE PARTY WEEK

A Calendar of Events November 23-28, 2016

hanksgiving weekend has special meaning for South Florida's gay community. While the holiday weekend often means spending time with crazy relatives, for homos in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and for thousands more around the country, Thanksgiving Weekend means it's time for White Party! In 1985, the first-ever White Party was held in Miami Beach, raising $16,000 for HIV/AIDS service organizations. The original group, headed by Frank Wager, wanted to channel their grief into a task that was proactive. They dressed in white, symbolizing purity and elegance, and raised money for the Health Crisis Network. This year, as the 32nd annual event kicks off, we are reminded why it still so vitally important to keep up the fight to raise money for those fighting HIV/AIDS. White Party Week features twelve major events, beginning on Wednesday, November 23, with the final party presented on Monday, November 28. Tickets must be purchased either online at whiteparty.org or at the doors of the events. Prices per event (advance prices only) will be listed throughout. VIP tickets are also

Homemade Italian in South Beach

W

hen you think of Italy, it is impossible not to think of pasta. Perhaps no other country is more associated with food than Italy is. Some may argue that French and Japanese food are more refined, yet neither conjure the images of family, fullness, and happiness like Italian food does. If, like me, you are a lover of all things from the boot shaped country, then you must head to Miami Beach to try Via Emilia 9 (1120 15th Street), where you will find some of the freshest homemade Italian food this side of the Atlantic. Chef Wendy Cacciatori promises that everything that you eat at Via Emilia, except for fresh fruit, veggies, eggs and flour, is imported from the mother land. All pasta is made daily and chances are you will get to see the “Sfoglina” or master pasta artisan rolling out her dough as you dine on the fruits of her labor. On our way in, my hubby Alan and I noticed a sign announcing ½ price on entire menu!! We couldn't believe our luck. As it turns out, Tuesdays are half price night. We arrived a bit early for our reservation, but we were welcomed anyway, as they found a perfect spot for us inside the rustic looking restaurant. Several tables are also available outside for dining al fresco. A giant chalk board lines the far wall with a list of all of the wines that you could choose from, all Italian,

of course. I decided on the Maremma Toscana Fiammante ($11) which is a deep red wine with full body and lots of tannins. It was delicious and stood up will with the myriad of dishes that were to come! While the dishes are not your typical “American” size, the portions are not tasting portions, so we decided to each get an antipasti (appetizer), a primi (first or “pasta” course) and a segundi (second course). We split a dessert. Alan ordered the Mediterranean Salad ($12.90) to start off and I decided on the Burrata e Pomodorini($16.90) Before they arrived, customary bread was delivered to the table along with the requisite olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. The M e d i te r r a n e a n salad is made up of iceberg lettuce, arugula, black olives and cherry tomatoes, and it was clear that the ingedients had been chosen for their freshness. There were no soggy bits of tomato or wilted pieces of lettuce, everything was at it peek of ripeness and flavor. Quality

Mediterranean Salad

Burrata

food really does make a difference. The greens are greener and the reds redder, and the taste is elevated because of it. The burrata e pomodorini is a round ball of home made burrata cheese served with more of the cherry tomatoes and a small arugula salad. The cheese was creamy and almost runny once broken open. Again, the freshness of the ingredients shined through (a theme that would repeat itself over and over with each dish) and Alan and I were left cleaning our plates with the bread. For our Primi, I had the Fazzoletti della casa($15.90) which is the stuffed pasta of the day. These triangle shaped dumplings were stuffed with speck- a type of Italian cured ham, mascarpone cheese, and t o m a t o sauce. They are blanched in boiling water for just a few minutes then taken Fazzoletti Della Casa out and tossed with butter and sage and served over a bed of arugula. They were delicate and delicious; the heat helped to wilt the arugula which added a bit of a bitter bite, making this dish a homerun. Alan had Tagliatelle panna salsiccia e funghi ($15.90). Tagliatelle is a wide Tagliatelle noodle similar to

linguini. This version served a creamy white sauce made with house made sausage and baby portabella mushrooms. This dish is rich and dreamy, with grated fresh parmesan cheese on top to add a flavorful bit of saltiness to the finish. It really is like heaven in a bowl. I chose the Polpette alla Bolognese (Meatballs in Bolognese sauce) ($15.90) for my segundi and Alan had the Valigini Reggiani (Veal roll ups, stuffed with ham and cheese) ($15.90). As Alan reached over and popped one of the small meatballs in his mouth, all he could say was WOW‌ so good. Tender and packed with flavor, these meatballs will rival anyone's Italian grandma's and I know those are Polpette alla Bolognese fighting words, but I stick by them. The veal roll ups were served medium rare- just long enough to braise the tops and melt the mozzarella cheese stuffing. The veal is tender enough to cut with your fork, and I am willing to bet, unlike any dish you have tried before. It is served with a small salad on the side, so you are sure to get your veggies. For dessert, we split the Tenerina al Cioccolato ($7) Veal a small chocolate cake served warm with a quenelle of sweetened and whipped mascarpone cheese and a few shakes of fresh cinnamon. What a perfect way to end an amazing, unforgettable meal. Via Emilia 9 is the perfect spot for a date night or to catch up with friends. Reservations are accepted and recommended, especially for parties of two or more. They are also open for lunch; on Monday- Friday they offer 50% off the menu as well so stop in and have an amazing lunch for a bargain. They also have a catering menu available for special events.

Inside & Out

Hollywood

By Billy Masters

//James Franco//

“S

o, when I'm alone, I do masturbate a lot. I don't know why. It's like you have those days where it's just like, I have a ton of writing to do, or a ton of reading to do, and you're just like, OK, I'm going to be on the couch all day or in bed all day just doing that...I tend to have a four- or five-time day." – James Franco reveals how he spends his free time. Here we are, days after the election, and everyone is trying to make sense of it all. Since it's my job to entertain you, let's start with a fun fact: our new first lady, Melania Trump, will not be the first wife of a US president that we've seen naked. Nope, that honor goes to "Hustler" cover girl of August 1975, Jackie Kennedy. Prior to this explicit "spread", some of the photos had been featured in newspapers around the world under the headline "Billion Dollar Bush". Allegedly, Aristotle Onassis was trying to dump Jackie and tipped off photographers as to where they could catch her naked. He even gave them a map - to her swimming spot, not her bush! Just when you thought you'd heard enough political news, along comes a story

//Aaron Schock// regarding hunky Aaron Schock. The former congressman resigned under suspicion of various crimes - which I believe is de rigueur for any politician from Illinois. Days after the election, Schock was indicted on 24 counts including mail fraud, theft of government funds, wire fraud, and six counts of filing false federal income tax returns. But at least he's released his returns! In a story which Schock may be interested in, Norway just became the first country to offer PrEP for free to anyone with insurance - which, by the by, is anyone since they have national health care. The president of HIV Norway, which has advocated this movement, said, "Condom use is on the decline, and we are happy that PrEP now is an integrated part of the public health service." It's a sad day when we're behind the Norwegians. That reminds me - I was behind a Norwegian once...but that's another story. When I look back on my life, I suspect I'll regret every moment spent watching Logo's reality dating show "Finding Prince Charming". But, as a completist, I am obliged to tell you about last week's reunion. First off, we found out that there was some sexual activity amongst the suitors surprise, surprise. Sam confirmed that he hooked up with Chad on the first night. "I was open to love with anybody, and I was horny, and I wasn't into

Robert, so fair game for me, baby. All's fair in love and war. And he loved it." Chad did not confirm if he loved it, but the news didn't surprise me. After all, Chad is the same guy who allegedly came onto Eric also on the first night. Speaking of Eric, the "winner" (a dubious distinction at best) and Robert are not a couple on any level. Robert said he's moved to LA and that they are "exploring this relationship" - while poor Eric sat there like a medicated Stepford wife. The two barely made eye contact, didn't hold hands, and showed almost no outward signs of affection. But, that's not surprising. In fact, that's been the problem with the whole show. The most we ever got from anyone all season was some tense, closed-mouthed kisses and a few bits of physical contact that wouldn't be out of place in a Jane Austen book! The entire series was so sanitized and non-sexual, I really felt like it ended with Robert and Eric poised to go on a first date rather than find love. I daresay Robert's previous "clients" got more affection than Eric has - but, then again, those clients paid! In fact, Robert's shampoo bottle got more action, as you can see on BillyMasters.com. Our "Ask Billy" question from Kevin in Chicago straddles both topics of the election and nudity: "In the 'Will & Grace' election special, they mention Viggo Mortensen's d!ck in 'Eastern Promises'. WOW - it's huge. Has he been nude in anything else?

//Viggo Mortensen//

If this endless election season brought us nothing else, it did deliver Viggo's d!ck. While I might be bold enough to suggest that Mortensen's career can stand on its own, so can his penis. Without question, the bathhouse fight in "Eastern Promises" gave you a good glimpse of it swinging about. But in this year's "Captain Fantastic", you get a much better view of it in a less chaotic scene. I'm happy to deliver both to you on my website. For those of you who are ass men, there's certainly no bigger ass than Prince Philip - at least, as depicted by Matt Smith in "The Crown". Yes, he acts like an ass, but he's also happy to show his off. Twice we've seen him lying facedown on the bed with his buttocks rising up like the Rock of Gibraltar. Oh, it most certainly is a sight to behold - as you can see on BillyMasters.com. When we've got nude spouses to both presidents and sovereigns, it's definitely time to end yet another column. And this queen is mighty happy about that. Perhaps I could have done without Philip asking Elizabeth for a blow job, but I chalk that up to literary license - a license I regularly invoke on www.BillyMasters.com, the site that will make you royally flush. If you have a question, send it along to me at Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Hilary Swank announces that her next movie will be "Billion Dollar Bush"! So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

You know the routine—you spend all day cooking (and drinking) and then you enjoy a nice feast with friends and family. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, rolls and pie—what more could you ask for on Thanksgiving? After the culinary assault has left you unable to move, the question remains: What should you do with those leftovers?! You can only eat a turkey sandwich for so many days before you need something else to satisfy your palate. We have chosen six recipes from our friends over at AllRecipes.com to help you get a little more creative with your leftovers. If you've ever seen Chopped, you know it's possible to take existing foods and transform them into a tasty new dish.

Living For Leftovers:

Delicious Thanksgiving Recipes By Troy Maillis

TWICE-BAKED MASHED POTATOES

This a pretty easy recipe to add some big flavors to your mashed potatoes. In a large bowl, mix 2.5 lbs. of mashed potatoes with 1 cup sour cream, ¼ cup milk, 1 cup butter and 1 cup cheese. Stir in chopped onion, crumpled bacon, salt and pepper. Spoon into a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30-35 minutes.

TURKEY POT PIE

This is a recipe that can use up many of your leftover Thanksgiving dishes. In a large bowl, gently mix together chopped cooked turkey, cream of chicken soup, corn, carrots, potatoes, and chicken stock until thoroughly combined. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. In a second bowl, mix 2 1/4 cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick®) and 2/3 cup milk to form a dough; roll the dough out to a 9x12-inch rectangle on a floured work surface. Place the dough on top of the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven at 400 degrees until the filling is bubbling and the biscuit dough topping is browned, about 25 minutes.

POTATO PANCAKES

Here's another yummy treat to make with your mashed potatoes. Mix 2 cups mashed potatoes, 2 eggs, ¼ cup flour, salt, pepper, garlic, and any optional ingredients (onions, green peppers, cheese etc.). Preheat skillet and add a couple of tablespoons of Crisco shortening or oil. Make sure the mixture is not too thin. Pour 1/4 cup batter into hot pan; brown on both sides. Enjoy with sour cream or applesauce.

CRANBERRY CINNAMON FLAX BEER BREAD

Cranberries are the quintessential Thanksgiving side item. Use any leftovers to make a warm bread. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 5x9-inch loaf pan. Gently whisk 2.5 cups flour, ½ cup flax meal, ¼ cup sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon together in a large bowl. Whisk one cup ale into flour mixture; fold in one cup of cranberry sauce. Pour batter into the prepared pan; drizzle melted butter over batter. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 1 hour.

APPLE PIE MILKSHAKES

There's nothing quite like warm apple pie—but it's even better cold! In blender, blend one piece of apple pie, three scoops vanilla ice cream, and ½ cup milk until smooth. (Add more milk if you'd rather a thinner consistency.) Pour into milkshake glass and garnish with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and apple pie crumbles.

SMOKED TURKEY TORTILLA WRAPS

This recipe is a little on the healthier side. Heat 10 whole wheat flour tortillas in a large skillet over medium heat until slightly browned. Divide 10 sliced turkey strips, one avocado, ½ cup sour cream, and ½ cup cheese among the warmed tortillas. For an extra treat, throw in some of your left over green veggies, like asparagus. Fold in half and serve.

Qué horripilante, ¿no? ¡Es una broma! Sin embargo, espero que todos tengan un gran Día de Acción de Gracias con sus seres queridos...Al menos no será un martes. Sean buenos los unos con los otros muchachos!

wait! It has been a while since the last time I had a self-induced coma. Not to mention the ever unavoidable family disputes about critical important issues such as who voted for whom on the last election or which friends of the family are getting a divorce. I am pretty sure they will ask me (once again) how I knew I was gay. You'd think it would've been clear the last 100 dinners or interactions with just about every cast member at a Disney park, but no…my coming out will be the topic of conversation once again.

It's a Boy!…on a Tuesday “I hate Mondays” – is what Garfield, the cat is known for saying. I think Tuesdays are worse that Mondays. Tuesdays are life's way of saying “I don't think you suffered enough yesterday at work…here, have a crap-load of Tuesday”! If Monday is a car accident, Tuesday is the insurance company saying you're not covered. If Monday is a box of chocolates, Tuesday is the doctor saying that the candy was poisoned and you have three days to live. Monday is that guy who understands you are recovering from the weekend and says “are you ok? I know it's hard, but we'll get through this” as he hands you a cup of delicious coffee. Tuesday is the dude who says to you “That felt good”? in the middle of foreplay and then jams his fist up your ass moving it around as if searching for a lost ring inside a garbage disposal because Tuesday is clearly a Monday with a vengeance. I'm not sure if I made my point clear but I freaking hate Tuesdays! Thanksgiving is here so I hope you have been hitting the gym to make room for the food orgy you are about to host inside your stomach during the many Thanksgiving dinners you will be invited to. I cannot

I am not sure I remember the first time I realized I was gay. I think I remember my mother crying and my father and others around them wearing surgical masks and handing each other cigars. Then this doctor ushered me off to a place where I spent my days in solitary confinement and showed my face to her yelling out “It's a boy”! I was born wearing an ipod and headsets on as I listened to Madonna's Holiday and kept thinking how everyone wearing a scrub needed a serious makeover. I'm pretty sure that's when I found out I was gay. To most people, it was at the time of their teenage years or first crush. Immediately after that doctor spanked me because, instead of bursting into tears, I just turned my head to him and gave him a big wink and a blown kiss. That's kind of creepy if you think about it. Nah! Just kidding! I do, however, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones. At least it won't be on a Tuesday so yay for us! Be good to one another, folks.

WOODY JUST WERK IT OUT

H

ey Woody, I keep hearing about exercising your "penis muscles." Hell, I thought I was doing that every time I entered my partner. What am I missing? ---Too busy playing to exercise

Dear Busy: Just as every team exercises before playing the game, every member should exercise before playing the field. If you really want to get good at sex you have to master the domain between your legs. Strictly speaking, your penis isn't a muscle, so you can't exercise it. You can take it for a swim in the tunnel of love or make it do push-ups and pull-ups with your hands but it's not the same thing. It's the muscles around your penis that need exercising. Namely, the pubococcygeal --"PC"-muscles, which are located in the lower pelvis and form a horizontal sling between your legs. Did someone say "sling?" Yes, but not the kind that makes you scream "Mount Me, Hercules, I am your mare!" This sling is filled with muscles crucial to putting the flex back in sex. Experts agree that regularly exercising your PC muscles (also called Kegels) can increase the strength of your erection, give you more control of your ejaculations and

deliver more powerful orgasms. Daily exercising gives you more contractions when you ejaculate. And who doesn't want that? Finding your PC muscles is easy. Next time you're taking a piss, start and stop the flow of urine, unless your partner insists you pee on him without interruption. No, wait. That's another column. Anyway, the muscles you use to stop pissing are your PC muscles. The basic exercises are the "Flutter" (tighten and let go quickly) and the "Pinch & Hold" (tighten and don't let go till you count to 15). You need to work up to a couple of hundred reps a day for a few weeks before you notice the effects. To get the best of your Kegel exercises, don't do them all while sitting or standing. Try Kegeling while lying on your back or side or while squatting. Different positions help give your PC muscles better tone. Try doing "Kegels" when you're hard, too. Squeezing the PC muscles after you've pitched your pup tent makes your penis jerk up. Have your partner hold a finger about an inch above your penis and flex hard enough to touch it 10 times in a row. Or go for the bonus round by placing your partner's mouth an inch away. Now that's what I call home fitness training. Of course, my favorite Kegel exercise is what I call "Lift & Separate." Enter your partner, flex, and watch him separate. Your partner can do it, too. It'll feel like your penis is getting massaged. Sticking to an exercise regimen will help you stick it to your partner but good. Now hit the floor and give me a hundred Kegels.
