week ago Monday, was Halloween, and it seemed like it was busy everywhere. Wicked Manors, after a very busy weekend on Wilton Drive, seemed to have record crowds and from what I heard Miami was hoping as well. On Saturday night we went by Scandals Saloon which was featuring Chumley's Bear ruises Bon Voyage Party starring cruise director Jessica McCoy. Later on, we headed to Ramrod for Pig Dance #99 (First Saturday of every month) with DJ/Producer Barry Huffine. Sunday was a busy day, we first went to Rumors for their “Not So Smart Ride,” where they presented the 2nd annual Big Wheel Relay Race. This fun event was hosted by Daisy Deadpetals and features awards for best team costumes, best pimped out ride and crowd favorite. Every team was a winner and received money! I then found out that my friend, Taina Norell was across the street at Rosie's with her Prince charming, so we headed over for their Sunday Funday Party. Afterwards we went toward the Intracoastal to attend Flip Flops Dockside Eatery's monthly T Dance, which is the only T dance in Fort Lauderdale on the Intracoastal. The T Dance, is hosted by Amanda Austin with DJ Barry Huffine and this month's special guests were Agatha Toua, Noel Leon and Melissa St John. We then headed to the Empire Theater for the premiere of “Naked Boys Singing.” Empire Stage is where the show is premiering, but will be making a national tour, so please make sure you get to see the show before the last show in South Florida on December 4.

INTERIOR DECORATING IDEAS FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE Suggestions For Each Room of Your Crib By: Ian Maloney When people think of Florida, many images come to mind, but three of the most prominent are the sun, the sand, and the water. Prominent architectural styles like Art Deco and Miami Modern dominated much of the building patterns over the last century, and it's easy to add some of those features into your home, even if you don't live in Miami. Modernist trends like simple, squared off lines, lots of acrylic, and even more white continue to dominate interior decorating trends through 2017. Here are our suggestions for easy ways add design elements to each room of your home.

We had the lamp refurbished and spruced up with new electrical equipment and a nice shiny paint job. Now it's our centerpiece.

Kitchen

Living Room

Get a statement piece and build around that. Maybe it is a beautiful coffee table or a unique sculpture or lamp. This will be something that guests will notice when they enter the space. Before he passed away, my father gave me and my husband an old surgical light that he had in his workshop. The light had been salvaged years before from the local hospital's surgery ward when it was modernized. My husband is a doctor so he was drawn to the lamp the first time he saw it.

For many people, the kitchen is the true heart of their home. Designers are seeing that colors are trending again and many people are choosing to add pops of green and other natural hues to the traditional white and black design elements. Think about making your kitchen pop by adding a beautiful tile backsplash. Look for new design elements in cabinetry, like doors that open with the push of a button and sleek finishes with no visible handles or knobs.

Dining Room

In the dining room, the most important piece is the table. Forget splurging on fine china or fancy flatware that you are hardly ever going to use and instead invest in a table that is a statement piece. A modern glass table with metal frame and solid colored chairs in multiple colors looks great in a bright beach inspired space. Or

hidden away behind a book shelf or in a number of space saving ways. Take advantage of any natural light that comes in by keeping the shades, curtains, and blinds in light colors. Spend a few extra minutes organizing wires and try to hide them as best as possible to reduce clutter and encourage positive energy for optimal brainpower. consider a rustic slab of reclaimed wood and have it refinished to fit your space.

Bathroom

Bedroom

Less is more. Step one remove clutter from your bedroom; simple decluttered spaces with

Recent bathroom remodels have trended toward using modern designs of sinks, toilets and

bathtubs. For 2017 expect more of the same. Try for a different shape for the sink, combine different materials like glass, wood, and natural stone to give objects a distinct look. Also, designers are moving objects away from walls if space allows- imagine a glass encased shower stall in the middle of the room, rather than tucked into a corner. Add multiple lighting sources to highlight different areas in the room.

Home office

Have a corkboard wall to help get ideas out of the computer and into real life. Use it to pin up a

few inspirational pictures, or to help organize your current project. Consider making the space multipurpose if you need an extra bedroom. If the budget allows, a murphy bed can be installed and

sleek modern furniture are all the rage. Forgo the TV but bring in a live plant or an indoor tree and a chair to create a sitting area and to add some extra life to the room. Color schemes are trending towards light colors and lots of white or light grey. Add a pop of color with small pillows for the bed or a throw at the foot.

Patio

Here in Florida, a highlight of life is that we have beautiful warm weather all year long. Take advantage of that fact by creating a beautiful living space outside. Add a circular table and chairs that are able to take the weather. Bring back the classic patio furniture styles; think of wicker chairs and loungers with colorful cushions but beware of certain floral patterns that make give things a dated look. Got an upcoming home improvement project in mind? Check out our business directory on MarksList.LGBT for LGBT friendly businesses that will help you get your project done. Tell them that Hotspots and Mark's List sent you. Also, share your pics with us on social media!

Tips to Help Your Florida Garden Grow

F

By Mike Halterman

lorida has such wonderful weather year-round that green thumbs can find themselves in a paradise. However, gardening in Florida has its own set of challenges that people from other areas of the country may not have to deal with. Let me tell you how you can make your Sunshine State garden grow, with insider tips from Hotspots! First off, the soil in Florida is different compared to the Northeast or the Midwest. Most soil that people are going to encounter in South Florida is more sand than dirt. Even in Central Florida, you may find that the soil has a higher alkaline content than average, and that's due to the influence of sand and sea water. You should test your soil's pH balance before you choose any plants. Knowing what you're up against is key when finally planting your favorite flowers, vegetables, plants and trees.

The Planting Process As noted above, South Florida's soil is mostly sand and does not have nutrients of its own. Judging by the plant or tree you want to grow in your yard, you will need to incorporate organic peat or top soil. Those two soil additions help the plants grow roots that will retain enough water to sustain itself. Adding composted manure will help further the rooting process. Be

sure to avoid potting soil, which will not hold a sturdy plant's weight after planting. Mix equal parts composted manure, peat or top soil, and dirt at the bottom of the hole you're digging. Make sure your hole is at least one-

and-a-half times the width and depth of the plant that will grow in your yard. Grab the plant by the base and insert the ball of roots into the ground to check the fit. Remove it once again and fill the hole with water. Then reinsert the plant and use the peat/manure/dirt mix to fill in the now-damp hole.

Watering As we enter the dry season in South Florida, it is important to be mindful of the watering restrictions that are in place in the area in which you live. In Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, residences are limited to watering their lawns

and plants to before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m. two days a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays only if your house number ends in an odd number, or

add fertilizer to the hole during the planting process. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask your garden care professional at stores such as Lowe's or The Home Depot.

Winter Plant Care

Thursdays and Sundays only if your house number ends in an even number). In both counties, the water conservation boards ask that you select a lawn watering time either before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m., not both. Palm Beach County is on a three-day-perweek watering schedule. Odd-numbered houses can water their lawns and plants on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. Even-numbered houses can water their lawns and plants on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.

As you're aware, South Florida has a much milder winter than most areas of the country, and even compared to most areas of Florida. In most winters, your plants will survive just fine. In the event of a colder winter, however, take heed of these tips:

Fertilization There are different kinds of fertilizer sold, and you will need to make an informed decision since fertilizer is essential to giving your plants the nutrients they need in your South Florida garden. There's slow-release, which allows the soil to take up a little bit of the fer tilizer with each watering; controlled-release, which allows you to apply it right near the plant's base without fear of burning the plant; and liquid fertilizer, which is easiest to apply but quickest to run through, as it needs to be applied with each watering. Whatever you do, make sure you don't

· Tropical plants will survive best away from the direction the cold front itself is heading, so as it heads down from the northwest, you should plant these on the southeast side of your home. · Take care to plant palms under the watchful eye of larger trees. · Plants under tree cover can be protected from colder temperatures. · Water the morning before a cold night, as it will warm the ground and keep the plant warm through the night. Plants can't regulate their own temperatures. If you take these tips to heart, you will be well on your way to showcasing a beautiful South Florida garden year-round!

Inside & Out

Hollywood

By Billy Masters

//John Slattery//

“I

don't want to say it was big, but I believe it had an elbow!" – Nathan Lane discusses seeing John Slattery naked back in 1989 when the two appeared off-Broadway in "The Lisbon Traviata". The two are currently appearing on Broadway in a revival of "The Front Page" where, I believe, all elbows are covered. Carol Burnett has had one helluva week! On Monday, it was announced that she's headed to ABC to star in a sitcom created by Amy Poehler. The next day, I was at the grocery store and saw the front cover of "The Globe" tabloid which exclaimed "Carol Burnett, 83 - THE END! Brave farewell to fans". So, what's the truth? While I believe Burnett is in fine health, ABC may have hedged their bets just a tad. The plot of the new sitcom is as follows - a young couple gets a great deal on their dream house, but it comes with one condition they must live with the current owner, an older actress, until she dies. Guess who plays the actress? It was announced that, for the first time in their 111-year history, the Spiegel catalog will feature a transgender cover model. Can I see a show of hands who thought the Spiegel catalog WAS history? Keep those

//Alan Turing// hands up. Now, can I see a show of hands of people who never heard of Spiegel? Wow, I expected more hands - I'm playing to an older demographic than I thought. That's why you never complain about all those Marilyn Maye stories! Great Britain was on the brink of making history when Parliament considered passing the "Alan Turing Law", which would pardon thousands of men who were convicted of being gay. It was named after the famed English mathematician and scientist, who was portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in "The Imitation Game". It was Turing who broke the Nazi code in World War II and is credited with helping the Allies defeat Germany. Four years after this accomplishment, he was prosecuted for "homosexual acts". Two years later, he committed suicide. Although Queen Elizabeth II granted him a posthumous pardon in 2013, close to 50,000 other men were also prosecuted. The proposed bill would allow the government to expunge all criminal records for people who were found guilty of "solicitation by men", "gross indecency between men", and "buggery". This would only apply if the people involved were over 16, did not engage in the act in a public lavatory (sorry, George Michael), and if the act is not still illegal. You'd think that would cover everything, but you'd be wrong. The first phase of the Parliamentary process is an open debate on the floor. Conservative

government Minister Sam Gyimah spoke first. He felt that pardoning everyone across the board would lead to some people who are actual criminals being cleared. He proposed amending another bill which would pardon only people who died. Those who are still alive could go through a "disregard process" to have the matter stricken from their records. Gyimah used all of the 25 minutes allocated for the debate - killing the possibility of the bill even being voted on. Writer of the bill, MP John Nicolson, said, “It's great to forgive all the people who are now dead, but it's kind of sentimental. I'm more interested in forgiving the people who are still alive, and have lived with this for decades. Tom Hanks is all for the remake of "Splash". And he'd like to be involved...as Channing Tatum's lover! "Look, I think if they were really going to be bold, I would come back as Allen Bauer, and I would go off with Channing Tatum. That would be a bold move. And I am suggesting it right now." I guess while you can take the fish out of the man, you can't take the man out of the fish! After swearing they'd never reunite, ABBA was on stage together in June to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Benny and Bjorn meeting - Agnetha and Anni-Frid sang "Me and I" (you can see the video on BillyMasters.com). That event thawed the quartet to the possibility of working together, and they've just announced a partnership with "Spice Girls" mastermind

//Channing Tatum//

Simon Fuller for a "groundbreaking venture". Benny says, "We're inspired by the limitless possibilities of what the future holds and are loving being a part of creating something new and dramatic here. A time machine that captures the essence of who we were. And are." More details will be announced next year, but we hear it will be some sort of virtual reality - kinda like when they wouldn't turn on Posh Spice's mike! Our "Ask Billy" question comes from Randall in London. "Have you checked out 'The Young Pope'? It's really great. And you get to see Jude Law's a$$! Do people actually want to see any Pope nude - young or otherwise? I suppose for Jude Law, we'll consider it. The show also has Diane Keaton playing a nun, which intrigues me. It started airing in England last week, and will be on HBO in February. But why wait? You can see the important parts of the first episode on BillyMasters.com. When we're promoting a Pope's posterior, it's time to end yet another column. As usual, all faiths are welcomed to check out www.BillyMasters.com, the site that doesn't discriminate. If you have a question, send it along to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Tom Hanks reveals if he prefers fish or chicken. So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

//Jude Law//

The fair, whose Lead Partner is UBS, takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from December 1 – 4, 2016. Attracting leading collectors, curators, museum directors and critics from across the globe, Art Basel in Miami Beach is the premier art show of the Americas, with half of the galleries having exhibition spaces in the region. Need Wood

WOODY CARPE DIEM & NIPPLES

H

ey Woody, are there any secrets to giving great head? I'm 21 and most of the guys I date are the same age, so none of us have that much experience. Got any tips? ---Sitting at the Foot of The Master

Dear Sitting: It's not my feet I want you to sit on, but it's a start. If you want call-backs from your sexual prey the first thing you need to know about giving good head is never stay with one technique or rhythm for more than about a minute (unless you want him to finish). Put him on his back, with you on all fours perpendicular to him, like this: If you're the arrow in this configuration it gives you access to his crotch and his torso, which you'll need. Wet your lips and produce as much saliva as you can. You want a lot of steak sauce on the sirloin. Remember, too much is never enough. Fill your mouth with his head and slowly, but ever so s-l-o-w-l-y, start moving up and down; at first a few millimeters then a couple more, then all the way. Get a good rhythm going then slowly disengage your mouth from his member (be sure it's plenty wet) and give him a long French kiss. Suck his tongue like you sucked him down there. Linger a minute in his mouth, then go back down. Linger on his c@%k a few moments

then go back to his mouth. Back and forth your mouth goes, between his mouth and his c&^k. Mouth-c@ck-mouth-c@ck-mouth-c@ck. When you establish the rhythm, make a pit stop at his left nipple. Now take your wet mouth from his c@ck to his nipple to his mouth to his nipple to his c@ck. And just when you establish that rhythm, add his right nipple to the mix. I call it "full-bodied head." He'll call it heaven. Hey, Woody! I love jerking off in the great outdoors. My house has a secluded lot in the back and late at night I go out there, take my clothes off and, uhm, commune with nature. There's a lot of privacy but I'm worried that someone's going to catch me in the act. Should I stop? ---Fooling around with Mother Nature Dear Fooling: Only animals do it outdoors. But since men are pigs, we qualify and therefore I see nothing wrong with squealing under the moonlight. However, it sounds to me like you're getting off on the danger of getting caught as much as anything else. I'd be careful. The next time your neighbors have a cook-out and see you grilling beef without the barbecue they could slap you with a public nuisance charge--and win.
