2010, he teamed up with noted lecturer David Lowe on music by Cole Porter, Noel Coward, and Rodgers and Hart at New York's Metropolitan Museum and National Arts Club and at Chicago and Newport venues. A Key West legend, Nesbitt has written and performed sold out shows of Songbook Masters for over a decade at the Tennessee Williams Cabaret Theatre. Combining lectures and concerts, his intensively researched stories about familiar and beloved songs evoke new perspectives. In 2005, Nesbitt was awarded the Tennessee Williams Award for outstanding contributions to the Arts. In 2010, Nesbitt started a new series at the Harry S. Truman Little White House in Key West. Set in the living room, he performs “Sentimental Journey, the Songs of the Truman Era” on Harry and Bess' piano while conveying history lessons. In 2014, Nesbitt wrote a tribute to the great Bobby Short, recreating an evening at the Café Carlyle, New York's bastion of classic cabaret entertainment.
