pisode three of Prince Charming starts with nine guys left, and Lance informs us there will be 2 dates, and they will be randomly chosen by the picking of cards, which all have to do with senses. Sam and Justin both pick touch and get to go on a date that features acrobatic Yoga. Sam is clumsy and Justin admits secretly that he has done this before and you can tell by his movement. In their alone time there was no kissing from either men, but there was a missed opportunity between Robert and Justin. The second date, Taste – wine tasting, which included Dillon, Danique, Chad and Paul. In the private time there was no kissing except when Dillon tried to go in for a kiss, which is very awkward. They bring Robert back to the house to go swimming and Robert asks Paul to take him to his bedroom so they can talk, and spark were flying and kissing occurred. Later on Dillon pulls Robert on the side to berate Sam. Robert is not happy with Dillons maturity level and leaves the house. Sam knew what was happening and blew up and decided it was time to leave the house. At the Black Tie Ceremony Robert decided to keep Dillon and

eliminate Danique, who he thinks is a wonderful guy, but who he has no chemistry with. Hotspots sat down with Sam and Danique for this exclusive interview:

Sam

What made you decide to apply to be on Finding Prince Charming?

For me, it was really just taking a chance and being spontaneous. I am always looking for ways to find new people and thought this was another avenue. Going into it I thought, even if

I don't win, maybe I will have a connection with another guy in the house or someone watching would see me. I guess we'll see if they did.

How did you feel when you found out you got cast?

I was really excited, but also very nervous. I thought not only would I have the opportunity to find love, but also to share my story of coming out and hopefully inspire others.

thing to do. I think I could have been in the top three, but Robert and I didn't have that strong of a connection on our date. I was also uncomfortable with Dillon and really missed my family and friends.

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show?

I am very sensitive, I cried a lot, but I also think I am pretty funny and can usually find humor in any situation. I also have an introverted side.

Do you regret leaving the show on your own, why or why not?

I definitely feel that I could have “played the game” but it wouldn't have been the right

What was it like when you got the tie?

I was surprised because a lot of people were like vultures and really going for the kill to talk to Robert! I sat back and waited my turn, and we actually made a connection. It was nice.

Were you shocked when you got eliminated? Why?

What was it like when you got the tie?

I was excited, relieved, and very emotional the first night. I was just trying to learn more about the guys and Robert, so it was a nice relief. I didn't want to be the first to go home.

'average guy' on the show, but I am not Hollywood beautiful. I am a business analyst at a bank, I work out but it isn't my main priority; I was shocked, happy, and thrilled.

Danique

What made you decide to apply to be on Finding Prince Charming?

It was the only thing I hadn't tried. I've done old fashion dating, mutual friends, dating apps...this was an unconventional way of dating I hadn't tried, so why not!

How did you feel when you found out you got cast?

I was shocked. I see a lot of comments with people s a y i n g t h e re w a s n' t re p re s e n t a t i o n of t h e

I wasn't. I felt like our connection had run its course and I had made it long enough. It felt like me leaving was mutual. At the end when I cried, it felt more like I was crying from all of the different dating experiences I've had, and how I need to try again, more so than about Robert specifically.

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show?

I really do feel like the show depicted the actual portrayal of who I am. Even though you don't have time to capture everything, I feel like they got me. It's hard for me to date but I'm also open and authentic to myself.

Each year, along with the help of Equality Forum and LGBTHistoryMonth.com, Hotspots celebrates LGBT History Month by honoring members of the community who are advancing our rights, fighting for visibility, and who help move us forward towards a life where everyone feels free to live life as who they really are. This week, we are kicking off the celebration by honoring actress and activist Ellen Page as well as marriage equality hero James Obergefell whose court case made it to the Supreme Court and paved the way for nationwide marriage equality.

ELLEN PAGE

HISTORY MONTH TO LEARN MORE, VISIT LGBTHISTORYMONTH.COM

(Born February 21, 1987)

llen Page is an Academy Awardnominated Canadian actress who has starred in “Juno,” “Inception,” “To Rome With Love” and the X-Men series. She has won nominations from BAFTA, the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild, as well as a Teen Choice Award. Page was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the daughter of a teacher and a graphic designer. Her first acting role was at the age of 10 in a Canadian television movie called “Pit Pony.” She earned work in Canadian films and television, including a breakout role in the 2005 film “Hard Candy.” Page is most famous for her title role in the offbeat Canadian-American dramedy “Juno” (2007), about an unplanned teen pregnancy. The independent film won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned Page a nomination for Best Actress. Page caught the attention of mainstream media. She was counted among FHM magazine's “Sexiest Women in the World” and named to Entertainment Weekly's future stars list. In 2014 Page came out publicly during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign's Time to Thrive conference benefiting LGBT youth. The same year she was named to The Advocate's 40 Under 40 list. Page has become an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights, producing a docu-series for Viceland called “Gaycation” in which she travels the world to

discuss LGBT experiences. She has also called for an end to military dictatorship in Burma and describes herself as a pro-choice feminist, an atheist and a vegan. In 2015 she played opposite Julianne Moore in the film “Freeheld,” a true story about a lesbian police officer with terminal cancer who fought the Ocean County (N.J.) Board of Freeholders to allow her pension benefits to be transferred to her domestic partner. The role was the first in which Page played a lesbian onscreen. She has said that the film and her coming out have liberated her. “I'm on Twitter and I'm gay,” Page said, “and I talk about gay rights … As a gay person living in Los Angeles, I get to do a job that I love that's given me — let's just be honest — money. I think it really is easy to forget what a lot of LGBT people face.”

JAMES OBERGEFELL (Born July 7, 1966)

im Obergefell is the plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. A Cincinnati resident, Obergefell married John Arthur in Maryland in 2013. Arthur was terminally ill with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), and Obergefell filed a lawsuit to force their home state of Ohio to recognize him as the surviving spouse on Arthur's death certificate. The couple alleged that the state's governor, John Kasich, was discriminating against same-sex couples who were legally married out of state. In 2015 the Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges that state bans on samesex marriage were unconstitutional, thus requiring all 50 states and U.S. territories to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. “Today's ruling from the Supreme Court affirms what millions across the country already know to be true in our hearts,” Obergefell said upon learning the verdict, “that our love is equal.” President Barack Obama called the decision a “victory for America.” Obergefell is an unanticipated activist. Born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio, he is the youngest of five children in a Catholic family. He came out as gay in his mid 20s and met Arthur in 1992. They lived together for 22 years before Arthur succumbed in 2014. When Arthur was

diagnosed with ALS in 2011, Obergefell became his primary caregiver. The couple flew to Maryland to legally marry just before Arthur died. They had already filed a federal lawsuit to allow Obergefell to be named Arthur's surviving spouse. When the court ruled in favor of Obergefell, Ohio appealed the ruling and won. Obergefell took his fight to the Supreme Court. Obergefell has become a marriage equality hero, traveling nationally and internationally. With Pulitzer Prize winner Debbie Cenziper, he is the coauthor of “Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality.” Be sure to check out Hotspots all month long as we honor our community and celebrate LGBT History. The World Magic Awards acknowledged his role as star and producer with Best Magic Review for the critically acclaimed Carnival of Wonders show. It was a pleasure to sit down with Jeff for this exclusive Hotspots Interview.

What came first the comedy or the magic and when was the first time you performed a trick for somebody?

Well I was always a class clown as I couldn't help myself, and I got in trouble very often in school. My first magic show was at school at 7 years old and it was a natural for me to combine the two.

What was your first paid gig as a magician?

That was at age 12 where this girl's father called me up and said: “My daughter is having her 10th birthday party, can you do a show?' He offered to pay me and I knew it was a good thing I got into.

When did you realize magic would be your career?

I really knew at 7 in that first show. I even told all the kids back then that this is what I was going to do for the rest of my life.

What's your favorite trick?

It reads quite simple, it's called the Egg in the Bag Trick. It's my signature trick that allows me to use the full potential of my comedy technique and also to pick pocket from people without them knowing it. I promise, I do give everything back.

What should the South Florida audience expect from the

Illusionists?

The Illusionist s will be a magic show for people who didn't know they like magic shows. It is the best variety of magic ever staged in the history of the world. This will definitely convert you to magic if you aren't a lover of it already. Contrary to some of the advertisements this is a show where you can bring kids. We have a segment in our show for children. The Illusionists is a show for ages 5 to 105 years of age, so if you are 106, you are out of luck. For more information on Jeff, you can go to his website: Jeffhobson.com or follow him on Facebook.com/ Jeffhobsonofficial. Tickets for The Illusionists are on sale now. “I

swallow mine."--Robert Sepulveda's explanation to the contestants on "Finding Prince Charming". He was answering the question of shouldn't you spit out wine at a wine tasting. As we know, swallowing is something Sepulveda specializes in. We filed our last column on the heels of the Emmy Awards. But there's still some unfinished business. One of Jimmy Kimmel's running bits was about the muchlauded Dame Maggie Smith, who has never shown up at an Emmy ceremony - despite having been nominated nine times, and winning three times. So Kimmel made a vow - to win the award, you had to be present! "If you want an Emmy, you better hop on a plane right now and get your Dowager Count-ass over here." When Dame Maggie did inevitably win, Jimmy stormed the stage saying, "No, No, No - we're not mailing this to her. Maggie, if you want this, it will be in Lost and Found." Maggie Tweeted: "I was very astonished and pleased to win the award. I feel the Emmys have been overly generous to me. If Mr. Kimmel could please direct me to the lost and found office I will try and be on the next flight. Love, Old Maggie.”

//Dame Maggie Smith// Everyone wanted to know the identity of Kevin Spacey's fetching young date, who was wearing what appeared to be a cowboy hat (all the easier to ride the bull later). He is 43-year-old Evan Lowenstein - a name which I'm sure means nothing to you. But I vividly remember the nowtalent manager as a member of the hot duo "Evan and Jaron", identical twins who had a minor hit CD in 2000 which I still have. Bradley Cooper was a guest on "Ellen" when Michelle Obama was co-hosting the show. Bradley said that when he was getting ready to attend a state dinner, the tux he had was a little snug. "So, I decided last minute to 86 the underwear." Ellen jumped in, "Because if it should rip, it's much better to not have underwear on." To which Michelle said, "It's good for us. Right, ladies?” BTW, Cooper also confirmed that his longgestating remake of "A Star Is Born" is going forward with Lady Gaga not only co-starring but also writing some new songs for the film. They are slated to begin filming early next year, which I presume means Gaga is out of the long-delayed Streisand "Gypsy" - which may or may not ever happen. Because this is a presidential election year, many stars are putting themselves on the line, but no one more so than Mark Ruffalo. He's so

committed to Hillary (and so vehemently opposed to Trump), he's made a vow: if Trump loses, he'll go full-frontal nude on the big screen. That's what we call a win/win. Whoopi Goldberg dropped a minor bombshell during a recent appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show". She was asked about her future with "The View". Whoopi was vague and talked about other things she'd like to do. "So in September, when everyone comes back for the new season, you might not be there?" asked Williams. "No, probably not," said Whoopi. "I have to move on baby, because I have to go and grow. I got stuff to do, I got movies I need to direct, I got books I got to finish." You heard it here first...er, OK, second. Our requisite "Ask Billy" question about "Finding Prince Charming" comes from Trey in Laguna Beach: "I just want to know who at Logo Robert blew to get this gig? Someone must have known. I do love watching how when he is alone with each of them he makes them each feel good about themselves. Well of course he does - it's how he made a living. A prostitute is the perfect choice for a show like this...which is why I think someone must have known. You're certainly onto something. As I've said, the hooker mentality is pretty close to the reality star mentality - you're selling a product, and it's all about romancing the right people. Does he have something more to offer? It's

//Bradley Cooper//

getting less and less likely. Aside from the numerous nasty videos of him you can find on BillyMasters.com, we now learn that prior to being cast on "Finding Prince Charming", Sepulveda was served with eviction papers for failing to pay at least three months of rent on his one-bedroom apartment (the rent was $2,200 - a good rent for New York). I guess business was slow, and he didn't want to ask Marc Jacobs for help. He was forced to vacate once the judge ruled against him. So, he's not only looking for love - he's looking for a home! Could it be that a certain Emmy winner (kinda) is spiraling down the drug drain? So say people who were shocked at the emaciated form this performer exhibited onstage during said win. Afterwards, this person was completely out of it and not sure about upcoming plans for the show. Here's how I think the next season will begin - at the funeral of the glue that held the motley crew together. After all, who wants to see all that suffering? When Spacey's "young date" is 43, it's definitely time to end yet another column. We ran SO long this week, I barely have time to remind you to check out www.BillyMasters.com, the site that always delivers. If you have a question for me, send it along to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Maggie Smith appears on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

ALDEN PETERS

Talks Groundbreaking Documentary

‘COMING OUT'

By Troy Maillis from around the world complement the depth of Alden's own story, and he also interviews his own family, friends, and leading LGBT figures and experts, including Janet Mock, about the unique challenges of coming out in today's digital era. In the age of smartphones, Facebook, and over-sharing, Coming Out succeeds in making this personal decision both a cultural event and a political celebration, and a poignant transcendence of the genre. We recently caught up with Alden Peters to talk about the process of coming out on camera.

n his directorial debut, young NYCbased filmmaker Alden Peters documents his own coming out experience, capturing everything on-camera as he plans and boldly captures his disclosures to friends, family, and society. Inspired by social media coming out videos by teens around the world, Coming Out places viewers directly inside the raw, intimate moments when Alden reveals his true identity to his family and friends, ranging from the painfully awkward to the hilariously honest. Crowdsourced videos from LGBTQ youth

The subject matter of this documentary is a very personal topic—why did you decide to document your coming out process?

The idea for the film star ted from watching coming out stories online—little mini videos of people talking to the camera sharing their stories. Eventually, I started looking for a documentary to see

on social media. Who were you most nervous to tell?

what the process of coming of out was like afterward. After you've told everybody—what do you do next? I couldn't really find anything out there that fit what I was looking for, so I had the idea to film my whole coming out process and create the film that I wanted to watch.

I was definitely the most nervous to tell my dad. For a gay man especially, telling your father is very intimidating. I was so worried about how my dad was going to react—I had no idea. You can see in the film the first thing my sibling ask is 'How did dad react?'

In one scene your mom asks you about a very intimate detail about gay sex. Did you get a lot of that?

Absolutely. Many straight people are fascinated about the sex aspect of being gay.

Did you have any reservations about making this documentary?

Oh yes, I had a lot of people telling me not to do it and that it wasn't such a great idea because it is such a personal process to be so public with. I also remember really early on someone saying, 'Hey, do you really want the first thing for people to find out about you when they search your name is to find this documentary that says you're gay?' That was definitely a struggle. The first time we did a test screening of it, I was probably more nervous than I had ever been in my entire life. It was terrifying sharing something so personal for the first time. There were also a lot of other personal things I didn't share in the film, so it made it more empowering for me to be open about this.

Before you did the big reveal on camera, what did your friends and family think you were filming?

I kind of grew up around cameras—my parents always had a camcorder around. When I was younger I started picking up the camera and filming holidays and vacations. Eventually, I started just making fun little videos around the neighborhood, so having a camera there was not at all foreign for my family and friends.

Throughout the film you come out to friends, family and

Photo by Paul Havern - Courtesy of Wolfe Video With my mom, you can see I tell her we are not having that conversation. With my friends, they'd ask and I would just sort of tell it like it is. If you're open to talking about it, you can look at it as a way of educating people and to give a better understanding of our community as a whole. At least that's what I ended up trying to do.

You also have a sit down with Janet Mock. What was that experience like?

The sit down with Janet Mock was incredible. She is a genius. She has like the perfect gift for

being able to articulate complex issues and how these issues tie into our personal lives. The conversation lasted about an hour and it was absolutely wonderful. I wanted so much for her to be in the film and it came about basically from me just emailing her. She was just finishing writing her book at the time and was very supportive of the project.

society considers gay—the way you act or talk or dress. It's about not fitting in to those cultural stereotypes. I think that's what I was most sensitive about before coming out. The way I think about it now is that I don't think about it. Like I don't think now if I'm acting in an effeminate way—it is what it is.

I think it's really easy for people to confuse or interconnect gender expression and sexuality. Separating those two is important because they are two entirely different things. Acting in a “gender inappropriate” way is a lot of times what

when we all go through it. Even though we are in a pro-gay marriage country, coming out is still a very personal process. I think it's important to find a core group that will support you like the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) or that one friend that can be your rock.

Many straight people are fascinated about the sex aspect of being gay. With my mom, you can see I tell her we are not having that conversation.

What is your advice for any youth who are having A lot of the film deals with gender expression and reservations about coming out or are ashamed of saying stereotypes in terms of the negative connotations associated they are gay? with what “being gay” means. How has your view changed I think reservations about coming out or since making the film? being nervous is totally fine—it's a huge deal

Coming Out will be released on October 4th on DVD / VOD.

Along the way, Bennett forges a powerful friendship with his idol, Joe Stevens, a celebrated transgender musician with his own demons to fight.

Uncle Gloria: One Helluva Ride Gateway Theatre - Sunday, October 16th 5:15pm Director: Robyn Symon USA, 2016 During a nasty divorce, Butch, the 67 year-old Jewish macho and homophobic owner of a South Florida auto-wrecking company, hides from the law…as a woman, setting off a twisting tale of discovery. Naming herself after her two idols – Gloria Estefan and Gloria Steinem, she decides to remodel herself in much the same way Butch once lovingly restored his old cars. As a senior citizen, she undergoes a risky sexchange operation, becomes a dominatrix, then a transgender activist, and finds love all while trying to reconcile with her dysfunctional family. Uncle Gloria: One Helluva Ride is a darkly funny, stranger-than-fiction film full of family drama and fireworks. In the end, we all would love to have our very own Uncle Gloria.

Fair Haven Cinema Paradiso - Sunday, October 16th 5:00pm Director: Kerstin Karlhuber Runtime: 90 minutes USA, 2016 Fair Haven follows a young man, James, who returns to his family's farm after a long stint in

Pushing Dead Cinema Paradiso - Sunday, October 16th 7:30pm Director: Tom E. Brown Runtime: 108 minutes USA, 2016 The words AIDS and comedy are rarely used together, but Pushing Dead is a film in which it is appropriate. HIV-positive writer and bouncer Dan Schauble struggles to refill his drug prescriptions after a bureaucratic snafu drops him from his health plan. Schauble quietly panics that any disruption to his pharmaceutical regimen can have disastrous consequences for his health, but while he navigates the labyrinthine world of modern healthcare, the other people in his life suffer from their own personal trials and tribulations. South Florida is lucky to have an LGBT Film Festival like MiFo, and there has rarely been a year when so many big stars are featured in the films that are shown. Make sure that you support these LGBT releases; we need to continue to make our community visible in film. For more information about the films or to purchase tickets, visit MiFofilm.com

LGBT Floridians GET OUT THE VOTE! Voter registration deadline is October 11th in The Sunshine State

E

very election is important t o o u r d e m o c r a c y. H o w e v e r, t h e 2 0 1 6 Presidential election feels even more important than usual. Maybe that is how some people feel every presidential election cycle, but it's certain that we have never had two candidates with higher negatives, or higher name recognition for that matter. After watching last week's debate, many feel like the stakes have never been higher, especially for LGBT Americans. While our community´s rights didn´t come up in the debate, the issues are as important as ever with Supreme Court vacancies that the next US President will have to fill, as well as court cases making their way through the system that see states fighting for the right to discriminate against LGBT Americans. We must vote as a show of force, to ensure that

the rights that we have now, all the gains we have made under President Obama aren´t wiped away by a bigoted orange a-hole who is intent on turning back the clock. Florida is an important swing state and as evidenced in the 2000 election of George W. Bush, every single vote in Florida counts. It is absolutely plausible that the entire race could hinge on the outcome of the vote here, so Florida's LGBT population could possibly swing the election. I won't rehash where the candidates stand on LGBT issues, but allow me to point out on observation. At last week's debate, Tony Perkins was in attendance supporting “The Donald.” Perkins, you may remember, is the President of the Family Research Council, a virulently anti-LGBT organization which was classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. He

has even testified before congress that members of the LGBT community should get the death penalty. Are you registered to vote? Whether you are on team “I'm with her” or you want to “Make America Great Again” your county needs you and it's absolutely essential that you make your voice heard. Visit dos.myflorida.com/elections/forvoters/ to find all of the info you need. Registering to vote is actually a very simple process. You can download the form and fill it out online, then print it off and mail it to the Department of Elections in Tallahassee. (You can just print the blank form and fill it out by hand.) You must certify that you are a US Citizen and that you haven't been convicted of a felony or if you have, that your voting rights have been restored. Your voter registration must be post marked by Tuesday October 11. You can also fill out the form and deliver it, in person, to County Supervisor of Elections, any Florida driver's license office or tax collector's office that issues driver's licenses and/or Florida ID cards, any “voter registration agency” where you get services, any office that primarily serves persons with disabilities, any military recruitment office, or any public library. Early Voting in Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties takes place from October 24- November 6. Each county has several polling places open and for early voting, it doesn't matter which location you go to, as long as it is in the county you live in.

Election Day is on Tuesday November 8. If you vote on Election Day, you MUST vote at your precinct, which should be fairly close to your house.

Visit dos.myflorida.com/elections/ to ensure you are registered, find out where your precinct is (where you vote) and even find out information the candidates on your ballot so you can truly be prepared to carry out your civic duty.

Season 2 Tatianna By Scott Holland

Week six of RuPaul's All Stars started out with a mini challenge called “Butt Butt Golf” where the queens had to get in quick funny golf drag and flip a ball (I won't tell you how, go watch it) into the hole. Alaska won. The Maxi challenge had the queens create merchandise worthy of their brand and film a commmercial that sells their goods. Marcus Lemonis from CNBC's “The Profit” walked around the work room with Ru and give the girls suggestions. In the end the winners were Alaska and Katya while the bottom two were Tatianna and Roxxxy (RuPaul fans will remember that this exact situation happened a few weeks ago). As if it was dejavu, Alaska won and again eliminated Tatianna. I believe Tatianna got a raw deal and did not deserve to be eliminated as she clearly wasn't the worst.

How excited were you to find out that you may have another shot after being eliminated?

I was really excited when I saw Ru's face and heard her message. I felt I had a lot more to show of myself.

What do you think you brought to the challenge that made you one of the winners?

I think that I was able to show that I have semi

good comedic timing and I love working in teams, and I loved working with Detox. When it came to the Lip Synching part I was so happy to show my talents.

When RuPaul called your name as the one to go back in to the competition, what was going through your mind?

I was surprised, because Alyssa is such a great performer. It took me back that she would pick me.

How disappointing was it to be eliminated so quickly and do you think it was fair?

I wasn't so much disappointed as I was annoyed. I thought I did well and executed the video as well as I could have AND I hit all the points that Ru and Marcus told me to. I thought the commercial came out great and my runway was amazing also. I certainly was not the worst and didn't deserve to go home.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

Nothing, other than picking a different “Snatch Game” character. I stand by all my other choices. For more information on Tatianna you can follow her on Social Media at: F a c e b o o k . c o m / Ta t i a n n a o r Tw i t t e r. c o m / Ta t i a n n a n o w , o r Instagram.com/tatiannagram

NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11 COMING OUT STILL MATTERS EVEN AFTER 28 YEARS By: Ian Maloney As someone who has been out of the closet for almost a decade now, it's easy to forget the fear and shame that accompany a life of lies. With people coming out younger and younger these days, it may also seem like there is no closet to come out of or that young people don't live with the same fear and shame that we did back when many of us were still living in hiding. Coming out Day, celebrated on October 11, is an important reminder that there are still many of us who are living in the closet. Each year, high schools, colleges, and universities across the world, along with thousands of other members of the LGBT community provide support on this day for those who wish to finally start living their truths. Jason Collins, the first out male professional basketball to play in the NBA came out in 2013. He said “I've endured years of misery and gone to enormous lengths to live a lie. I was certain that my world would fall apart if anyone knew. And yet, when I acknowledged my sexuality, I felt

whole for the first time.” No two coming out stories are the same, but almost all have a common thread- living in truth makes people feel free, and better than they did before. When it is safe for you do to so, we want you to come out! If you are in the closet, you should know that there are many resources available to help you should you decide to come out. There is a whole community out here just waiting to welcome you with open arms. Reach out to the Human Rights Campaign at HRC.org. They have lots of resources for people who are looking for more information on coming out. Also, reach out to other gay people you know. Ask them about coming out. Head out to your local gay bar or club, find someone there to talk to. Don't worry, people will judge you either way, so you might as well make yourself happy.

By Woody Miller

Need Wood

WOODY BRING IT IN CLOSE

H

ey Woody, I've got big balls. They chafe when I run and hurt when I bike. Is there something I can do to make my "boys" more comfortable? --- Sack of potatoes

Dear Sack: Testicles and the sacks they come in vary in size and shape. The boys will pull up closer to you when it's cold and "hang out" like an unwelcome relative when it's hot. So ice your balls down before you do anything athletic. I'm kidding, Croquet Man. Try wearing underwear or jock straps one size smaller than you're used to. They might give you some extra support. Also wear shoe cushions in your sneakers—they'll soften the rattle from running on pavement. And get yourself some more seat padding for your bike. And quit your bitching, there are worse things a gay man can endure than grapefruit size balls. Hey Woody! I had a date with a dreamboat last week . After an enchanting dinner we repaired over to his home, where I tried to kiss him on the lips. He put his hand in the way and said "I don't do that." At first I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't.

Woody, this guy didn't want to kiss, didn't want to hold hands; he didn't even want to have oral sex. He said the only thing he'd do is f$ck me. This, from a guy who swears he's interested in me. I refuse to get f$%ked without a kiss--I'm no Log Cabin Republican. Still, I really like this guy and he wants to keep dating. Should we? Or am I just kidding myself? ---Doable but not kissable Dear Doable: Where'd you find this loser? Ten bucks says if you screw he'll insist on no lube. It sounds like the only part of him that came out of the closet was his crotch. If you want real dating material you'll have to wait till the rest of his body and mind come out. Falling for a hot guy with a neon "DANGER" sign blinking over his head sets up an interesting dilemma: Walk away now and cut your losses, or go for it knowing you might get hurt in a big way. The answer depends on your tolerance for pain. Nobody wants to throw a good-looking fish back in the water—unless it's a piranha. Even if you're a d!#k pig, you might want to take a pass. How good could this guy be if there's no kissing, no foreplay and no oral sex? That's not a date, that's a boyfriend. On the other hand, you could go for it and see if you can change him. Pay no attention to the laughter in the background—it's just nature's laugh-track. It kicks in whenever I say something ridiculous.

Ask Woody a question at needwood@mac.com Want more dating tips? Check out Woody’s book, Meet The Hottie In The Corner. The 21 Day Plan To Overcome Your Fear Of Rejection, Master The Art Of Icebreakers And Snag Guys You Never Thought You Could Get. http://grabhim.net/gay-dating-guides/
