South Florida is home to the South Florida F l a g F o o t ba l l L e a g u e ( S F F F L ) , w h i c h emphasizes co-ed competition. The SFFFL organizes a tournament in which teams from a ro u n d t h e c o u n t r y a re we l c o m e to participate, called the Florida Sunshine Cup, which will take place across two days, February 11-12, 2017, at Central Broward Regional Parks and Stadium (3700 NW 11th Pl., Lauderhill). Some of the major gay bowling tournaments in Florida coming up are the River City Invitational Open Tournament (RIOT) in Jacksonville, coming up this October; and the F o r t L a u d e rd a l e I n v i t a t i o n a l Re g i o n a l Tournament (FLIRT), held every January (next year's specific dates are January 13-15, 2017).

The Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) has been the international organization p ro m o t i n g g a y te n n i s a n d p re s e n t i n g international tennis tournaments for nearly three decades. In South Florida, there are two gay tennis clubs: the South Florida Tennis Club and the Miami Mavericks. The teams date from 1987 and 1989, respectively.
