Welcome to the 2018 catalogue for Bear Grylls, Piccadilly Press, Hot Key Books and Supersaurs. We are thrilled to publish more from Bear Grylls, whose young fiction series began in 2017 and has already created a global fan base of readers who experience a world of adventure with Bear. Piccadilly Press spans a breadth of publishing for ages from 5 to 12 years old, including bestselling authors Sir Chris Hoy and Isla Fisher. Martha Mayhem who causes chaos at every turn, magical girls and knights who have swords and will travel inhabit this lively imprint, along with brand-new characters including The Stig, a boy who grows dragons and hamsters who are geniuses. In case those are not enough ingredients to tempt you to look further into the world of Piccadilly Press, then let me mention the boys who go AWOL to fight for good over evil, a girl called Jelly, a boy called Charlie, imagined horses and the undefeated Mice of the Round Table! A recipe of family fun classics with timeless illustrations and stories to satisfy all appetites. Hot Key Books remains our pitch-perfect original teen and YA/crossover/adult list that is always at the vanguard of publishing. The books are groundbreaking and thought-provoking, the readers smart, savvy and totally engaged. We kick off the year with the launch of the new series from New York Times bestselling author Holly Black: the Folk of the Air trilogy, a lush

but dangerous world of faeries, where the velvet tunics and silk gowns belie the cruelty and brutality of the characters – highly original, totally compelling. Love, Hate and Other Filters challenges the status quo, while Sunflowers in February will challenge your emotional register, Phobos – a bestselling series in France – will transport you out of this world, and our Spellslinger series will provide a whole new world for readers to live in, with tarot cards, magic and a talking squirrel cat. From new voice Rutendo Tavengerwei who has captured the heated atmosphere of Africa, where hope is your only fighting chance, to the highly acclaimed international author Robert Muchamore, with a deadly Killer T genetic mutation, our authors will entertain, shock, stimulate, but always provide the keys to unlock the imagination of readers everywhere. Supersaurs, the innovative middle-grade series with accompanying app that introduces AR and games from the books, sees the adventure continue with more Saurs and more battles for Bea and Carter to fight if they are ever to uncover the truth about their parents’ disappearance. We are enormously proud to be publishing such wonderful writers this year. The range and diversity of the titles will hopefully appeal to you and entice you to partner with us in bringing our books and authors to the audience they deserve. When Mama dies, Seren is taken under the wing of Professor Nimbus, a storyteller. So, with the help of a trader boy called Tab and his little dog Mouse, Serendipity heads into the unknown, searching for the beautiful creatures she’s always dreamed of. But the Minister is behind them, determined to hunt her down . . . A gorgeously lyrical journey of discovery set in a reimagined Great Britain.

Flying Fergus 8: Trouble on the Track Flying Fergus 9 C H R I S H OY In Trouble on the Track, it’s decision time for Fergus and the rest of the squad. Training together has been going well but the International Championships are nearly here, and it’s time to name the four riders who will be in the starting line-up. The coaches decide the only fair thing to do is hold official trials to decide who’s in – and who’s out. It’s neck and neck for Fergus and Daisy after the Keirin and the road race . . . and with just one race to go, tensions in the teams are riding high . . . And in Book 9 for the first time ever Fergus is cycling without Daisy by his side . . . can they still be best friends? Daisy came fifth in the tryouts, so she’s the squad’s first reserve, and despite training and hanging out as usual, Fergus can sense his best friend isn’t herself. There’s another mystery too – a rival newspaper keeps getting exclusive cycling scoops, but who is the snitch? Out of ideas, Fergus heads to Nevermore to consult his dad – only to find that Princess Lily is also in a spot of bother with some dragons . . .

Refugee Boy for a new generation. A debut novel for readers aged 9+ about a young refugee from Afghanistan and his search to find his grandfather’s precious musical instrument The Eleventh Trade A LYS S A H O L L I N G S WO R T H Back in Afghanistan, before the Taliban came, Sami’s grandfather was a famous musician. People would come from miles around and pay thousands to hear him play the rebab. Now Sami and his grandfather are refugees living in Boston. The rebab is their most valuable possession and a reminder of home. Then one terrible day, the rebab is stolen. Sami’s grandfather is devastated. His last link with home is gone, and with it his livelihood. Sami resolves to get the rebab back as a surprise for Eid. When he finds it on eBay, with a hefty price tag attached, he begins to trade the few possessions he has – and as he does, he finds, to his surprise, that there are all kinds of people willing to help. ALYSSA SAYS: Sami’s tale was inspired by the Afghans I met in Afghanistan, my older sister’s nine years of NGO work in-country, and by the attack at the American charity Roots of Peace in March 2014. Unlike Sami’s parents, my sister made it out alive. But I can never forget what it felt like to see a picture of the bombed-out house printed in Time magazine. The Eleventh Trade is an attempt to give voice to the victims of war who continue to struggle with hope and healing even after they are ‘safe’.

Now in Morgan’s home, Galahad must tread carefully as he learns to wield Excalibur’s magic and searches the sorceress’s castle for something that might help save the kingdom from the Saxons. Meanwhile, Calib uncovers the sorceress’s terrifying plans for Camelot, but in order to prevent the prophecies, he will need to find out the secret behind Merlin’s last quest.
