Editor’s Note

Darlings, sometimes paradise isn't just a state of mind—it's a precise set of coordinates. In this issue of HOT Magazine, we're taking you on a journey that proves luxury comes in many flavors, from sun-kissed shores to healing hideaways.

First, pack your designer swimwear as we whisk you away to Palawan, officially crowned the World's Best Island for 2025 (and who are we to argue with perfection?). While some destinations merely promise paradise, Palawan delivers it with the confidence of a supermodel on a runway. Think secret lagoons that would make James Bond jealous, underwater gardens that put Versailles to shame, and the kind of pristine beaches that make influencers weep with joy. Trust me, darlings, your Instagram feed will never be the same.

it's medicine for the body. From stress-melting spa treatments to blood pressure-lowering beach walks, wellness tourism is becoming less "indulgence" and more "doctor's orders." I'm personally volunteering for any clinical trials that involve five-star resorts.

Finally, we're rolling out the red carpet for Thailand's property elite at the 20th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards. Think of it as the Oscars of real estate, minus the long acceptance speeches but with equally fabulous evening wear. From sky-piercing Bangkok penthouses to seductive seaside villas, these achievements in architectural excellence prove that Thailand isn't just keeping up with global luxury standards—it's setting them.

Speaking of feeling fabulous, our second feature might just revolutionize how you think about your next vacation. Imagine your doctor prescribing two weeks in Thailand instead of those boring little pills. Yes, you read that correctly—medical professionals are finally catching up to what we've known all along: travel isn't just good for the soul,

So pour yourself something sparkling (it's medicinal, according to our second article), and dive into these pages. After all, life's too short for anything less than extraordinary.

For your daily dose of luxury inspiration, visit https://hotmagazine.website. Doctor's orders!

Yours in perpetual pursuit of paradise,

Devasom Hua Hin Marks 15 Years with Luna Circle Festival.

The gentle morning breeze carries the scent of frangipani across Devasom Hua Hin's pristine beachfront as guests gather beneath the resort's iconic heart-shaped tree. This September, the tree served as more than a romantic backdrop—it became the symbolic centerpiece of the Luna Circle Festival, marking fifteen years since the Atirak family first opened the doors to their Victorian-inspired sanctuary on Thailand's beloved Gulf coast.

From September 5-7, Devasom Hua Hin transformed its already enchanting grounds into an immersive celebration of wellbeing, community, and cultural discovery. The weekend's carefully curated program reflected the resort's evolution from a boutique hideaway into one of Thailand's most celebrated

small luxury properties, consistently earning accolades on Tripadvisor and beyond since its 2010 opening.

The anniversary festivities began each day with sunrise yoga sessions on the beach, where guests stretched and breathed as golden light painted the horizon. These morning rituals set the tone for days filled with mindful experiences, from guided meditation sessions to the resonant healing frequencies of Himalayan sound baths. The resort's commitment to holistic wellness shone through every offering, creating spaces for guests to reconnect with both body and spirit.

Cultural immersion played an equally vital role in the Luna Circle Festival. Visitors discovered the meditative

precision of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, where each gesture carries centuries of meaning. The creation of intricate sand mandalas offered another window into Eastern contemplative practices, with guests learning how these temporary artworks embody Buddhist teachings about impermanence and presence.

As evening approached, the beachfront property shed its daytime serenity for something more spirited. Bangkok's renowned Jelly Roll Swing Dance Club brought infectious energy to the celebration, transforming the grounds into an open-air dance floor where guests of all ages found themselves swept up in the rhythm. The interactive performance epitomized the festival's emphasis on togetherness,

HOT AROUND HUA HIN

breaking down barriers between performers and audience in a joyful celebration of movement and music.

The anniversary weekend also marked a significant culinary evolution for Devasom Hua Hin. The resort unveiled Pribpri, its reimagined signature restaurant paying homage to the rich gastronomic heritage of neighboring Phetchaburi province. The new menu marries authentic local flavors with contemporary presentation, ensuring that guests experience the true taste of the region through a refined lens.

"This anniversary is not only a celebration of our journey but also a reflection of Devasom's ethos—curating experiences that nourish the soul and bring people together," explained Rasri Atirak, whose family's vision has guided the property through fifteen success-

ful years. "The Luna Circle embodies balance, connection, and joy—values that will continue to guide us for years to come."

The resort's commitment to these principles extends well beyond the anniversary weekend. Devasom Hua Hin has integrated the festival's signature wellness experiences into its year-round programming. Every Sunday, early risers can join beachfront sunrise yoga at 7:00 AM, while Tuesday and Thursday afternoons offer mindfulness yoga sessions. Saturday afternoons feature Himalayan sound bath healing, and private sessions for breathwork, meditation under the stars, sand mandala creation, and tea journey experiences can be arranged upon request.

Nestled along the upper reaches of Hua Hin's coastline, the 24-room resort

continues to honor the area's heritage as a royal summer retreat. Each generously proportioned guest room offers sea views and Victorian gingerbread architectural details that recall the early 20th century, when Siamese royalty first discovered this tranquil stretch of sand. Complimentary shuttles connect guests to Hua Hin town's international dining, golf courses, and cultural attractions, though many find little reason to leave the resort's romantic beachfront setting.

As Devasom Hua Hin enters its sixteenth year, the Luna Circle Festival stands as both celebration and declaration—a promise that this award-winning property will continue evolving while remaining true to its founding vision of Thai hospitality elevated through mindful luxury.

Also exuding a Mediterranean feel, the lounge and bar area anchoring the beach club caters to almost 250 people. The space is crowned by a chic rooftop lounge, with a capacity for more than 100 guests seated or 300 guests for cocktail events, affording panoramic views of Pattaya Beach.

The a la carte menu brims with Mediterranean and Asian favourites includ-

ing artisanal sandwiches and wraps, hearty rice and pasta dishes, fresh seafood mains and signature specialities. Highlights with locally sourced seafood include ‘Hand shucked oysters with shallot mignonette, lemon and salsa verde’, and ‘Seafood paella rice with prawn, mussel, squid and clam’. Indulgent desserts such as the Sicily Cannoli generously filled with orange mascarpone, pistachio and drizzled in rich chocolate sauce round out the menu.

The beverage menu is extensive, featuring smoothies and shakes, juices, sodas, iced drinks, beers, wines, champagne, classic cocktails and all sorts of imaginative creations by the award-winning bar team.

Cocktails such as the pandan-scented ‘Blue Tides’, made up of vodka, coconut juice, pandan syrup and coconut milk topped with blue coconut foam, bring creative flair to the menu. ‘The Wave Rider’ is characterised by floral and citrus notes, featuring gin, Lillet Rosé, rose syrup, aloe vera juice, egg white and lime juice. A reinterpretation of a classic Bloody Mary, ‘Sriracha Spark’

packs a punch with clarified vodka, Sriracha sauce, tomato juice, green olive juice, lime, paprika, and salt and pepper.

“LAY Beach Club brings the atmosphere of the famed Mediterranean chill-out beach clubs to Pattaya, with a dynamic menu offering something for everyone,” said Javier Gimeno, the general manager at Meliá Pattaya Hotel, which manages LAY Beach Club. “By day, our sun-soaked beach club has a laid back feel and by night, it’s a lively hotspot with DJs spinning the decks, dance performances and LED visuals on our state-of-the-art giant LED screen.”

The evening’s entertainment is underscored by an enthralling 20-minute fire show packed with high-impact tricks and choreography.

Open daily from 11am until midnight, Lay Beach Club also caters to an array of events.

Forget the frantic scramble of traditional buffets. Step into Goji Kitchen + Bar within the palatial Marriott Marquis Queens Park – Bangkok's largest hotel – and discover an evening buffet transformed. Here, culinary artistry unfolds within intimately arranged stations, creating inviting pockets of discovery amidst the generous space. It’s a design that banishes long lines and crowd jostling, inviting you to linger, converse, and savour each curated experience at your own pace. This is refined, unhurried extravagance.

Begin your journey at the Goji Kitchen Salad Bar, a vibrant ode to freshness. Seasonal produce and thoughtful accompaniments abound. Purists will find solace in the textbook Caesar: crisp romaine, creamy house dressing balanced with bright acidity, crunchy croutons, aged parmesan, and optional anchovies for a subtle umami lift. Or, embrace creativity by building your own masterpiece from a sweep of greens, vegetables, grains, and dressings – the perfect bright start to a long, indulgent evening.

Quality reigns supreme at the Seafood & Oyster Bar. Indulge in impeccable selections: tender sea bass, succulent salmon, plump scallops, and pristine white fish. The undeniable stars, however, are the ice-chilled, brinyfresh jumbo oysters, presented with a vibrant array of sauces including a punchy crushed garlic option. Pro Tip: Visit Friday through Sunday evenings for the elevated 'Top Shelf' experience featuring Alaska King Crab legs and five premium oyster varieties. This station is a must for connoisseurs.

Prepare for a carnivore’s dream at the Carvery. Juicy cuts of lamb, pork, and chicken beckon, but the undisputed highlight is the perfectly marbled Wagyu beef, grilled to succulent perfection. This bounty is beautifully complemented by a medley of classic sides: creamy mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, yams, broccoli, asparagus, and seasonal greens. (A generous pour of rich pepper gravy over the Wagyu and mash proved an irresistible choice).

Another station not to miss is their dedicated Sushi and Sashimi station where a highly trained Japanese chef prepares fresh Japanese seafood dishes to order. This station offers a variety of sushi and sashimi, including selections like tuna and salmon, sliced fresh in front of diners. The open kitchen design allows guests to watch the meticulous preparation process, adding to the interactive and luxurious dining experience.

The Street Food Soup Station casts an aromatic spell, a bustling hub capturing Bangkok's vibrant soul. Steam rises from bowls brimming with tender fish and pork balls amidst crisp bean sprouts. Choose between fluffy rice or delicate egg flower noodles, then customize your creation from an array of condiments: fiery red peppers for the bold, tangy vinegar, fragrant crushed toasted garlic, rich shoyu, and a hint of sugar. It’s an authentic, interactive taste of the city's street food heart.

No indulgence is complete without a visit to the Dessert Station, a paradise for the sweet-toothed. Standouts include the ever-popular Crème Brûlée with its signature caramelized crunch, rich chocolate indulgences, and warm, gooey cinnamon buns. A fine selection of ice creams offers a refreshing counterpoint. For a truly memorable finale, opt for the made-to-order Mango Sticky Rice – the light coconut drizzle harmonizing the tropical sweetness of ripe mango with the satisfying chew of sticky rice. Unforgettable.

Thoughtfully curated drinks elevate the entire experience. The package offers bubbly, crisp whites and velvety reds perfectly suited to the fresh seafood and rich meats –imagine a Sauvignon Blanc cutting through oyster brine or a Pinot Noir complementing that Wagyu. Beers, soft drinks, and juices cater to all preferences. Gracious staff ensure your glass is never empty, enhancing every savoury and sweet moment.

The Goji Kitchen + Bar dinner buffet is served nightly. Lunch buffets run Monday-Friday, while the signature Sunday Brunch is a deserved crowd favourite. Weekend reservations are highly recommended.

Goji masterfully redefines the buffet. It’s a sensory voyage through intimate culinary worlds – from Indian and Italian, to ocean treasures and carnivore havens to vibrant street flavours and decadent finales. You leave not merely satisfied, but with the lingering satisfaction of a luxurious, unhurried adventure for the senses. Come hungry, savour slowly, and prepare to be impressed.

HUA HIN’S FIRST WINE

TASTING ON A YACHT

An evening of fine wines, oysters, and ocean breezes

On the evening of Saturday, 27 September, Hua Hin’s social scene set sail on an entirely new adventure. Old friends and new acquaintances gathered at the pier of the former Pattaya Ferry terminal, where anticipation mingled with the scent of sea air. Their destination was not a distant island, but a journey of indulgence— Hua Hin’s very first wine tasting on a yacht.

Once aboard, the evening unfolded as the yacht Sea Queen cruised gracefully along the Hua Hin coastline. For two leisurely hours, glasses were never empty as Prosecco sparkled in the fading light, followed by a curated selection of crisp whites and full-bodied reds. The convivial clink of glasses was paired with an equally decadent spread: unlimited imported oysters, rich beef stew, smoky pork barbecue, and a medley of favorite Thai dishes. Together, the flavors captured both the sophistication of European dining and the comfort of homegrown hospitality.

The event was the vision of In A Good Mood Wine Bar & Tapas Restaurant, well-known in Hua Hin for its curated wine list and intimate dining atmosphere. Partnering with Wine DD Group, their trusted wine supplier, they transformed an ordinary Saturday evening into a memorable celebration of good taste and coastal beauty.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, guests were treated to a fresh perspective of Hua Hin. From the deck, the city revealed itself in a new light—temples and skyline glowing softly against the sea. It was a reminder that luxury is not only found in five-star hotels and restaurants, but also in the experiences that linger long after the final toast.

The success of this inaugural cruise is only the beginning. In A Good Mood Wine Bar & Tapas has announced plans to host these exclusive wine tasting yacht evenings every two months, offering locals and visitors alike a chance to savor fine wines and the romance of the open sea. To stay informed about upcoming sailings, follow the restaurant’s official Facebook page and prepare to raise a glass on the waves. https://www.facebook.com/inagoodmoodwinebarandtapas

CEO Of The Mister National Universe Organization

What is your full name and age?

Kosit Namchue FORTIN (Fiat)

What is your current Job Position?

CEO of Mister National Universe Organization

What do you like most about your profession?

I really enjoy to meet people from various sectors : models, entertainment professionals, business community which provides most of our ressources by sponsoring the events and naturally our audience always warm and enthusiast. I like to encourage the participants to the events not only to succeed in the competition but also to mesure their potential in the perspective of their professional future.

How long have you lived in Bangkok, and where did you live prior?

I have lived in Bangkok for the last four years. Previously I have accompanied my spouse who was French diplomat in the countries where he has been assigned for more than fifteen years. We used to stay three to four years in each country: the Philippines, Iceland, France, Cambodia, Pakistan, &Madagascar.

What do you like most about Bangkok?

Bangkok is a vibrant city, alive day and night, you can choose to live in a very quiet neighborhood or in a busy district with a large choice of activities, sports clubs, bars and restaurants, department stores. It’s a cosmopolitan city with the authenticity

of Thai culture and, at the same time, many influences of foreign culture.

What is your favorite restaurant, and why?

I have few favorite restaurants, Japanese, Thai, Korean, French where I go regularly because I know the quality of food and service is consistent and, at the same time, the choice of dishes is still innovative. A few of my favourites include Brasserie 9, a French fine dining restaurant, Sushi Masato a Michelin starred Omakase restaurant, as well as the food court at Seri Market the nine Rama IX.

What is your favorite “Special Occasion” restaurant, and why?

I like the one Michelin starred Sushi Masato which I mentioned above and get there almost every month. Chef Masato always offers an excellent omakase experience. Everything is handled with care and from bottom of the heart of the chef. Reservations are essential and slots open monthly on the 15th, as the restaurant is very popular and seats are limited.

What do you like to do in your free time, and why?

I like to be active on social media, to follow friends, to know more about new places for entertainment through testimonies of people I know and, at the same time, to exchange about my own experiences, positive ones mainly.

Where do you recommend first time visitors to Bangkok go, and why?

I recommend to the people to explore old districts of Bangkok like Chinatown and around the Chao Praya

river banks, don’t scare to be lost, probably you will find small food stands offering delicious authentic Thai food or an old store which has not really changed since the Rattanakosin period.

On a night out with friends, where do you like to go, and why?

I like to explore new places for enjoying food with friends and we appreciate restaurants where there is a real care taken in the choice of wines. The historic Bamboo Bar at the Mandarin Oriental is a favorite, as well as The Commons on Thong Lor.

Tell us a surprising fact that the public might not know about you?

I am not particularly gifted to learn foreign languages but I have a good ear and I catch easily the words prononciation and, even I can say only few words in Icelandic or in Tagalog, the people are surprised by the fact that my way of speaking is similar to a native one.

What is the most outlandish thing you have ever done?

I think what one of the outlandish things I did, particularly for a Thai individual, is to enjoy a bath outdoor with temperatures reaching minus zero in the middle of a snow storm, of course in a natural hot spring in Iceland.

Longevity, Leisure, and Health: Why Travel May Be the Medicine of the Future

From reducing stress to lowering healthcare costs, wellness and medical tourism are reshaping how doctors and insurers think about treatment.

Could the future of healthcare involve a boarding pass as well as a prescription pad? Across the world, a quiet revolution is brewing as doctors, insurers, and tourism authorities begin to see outdoor tourism not only as leisure, but as medicine. The notion is simple yet profound: travel, particularly wellness-oriented travel, can support mental health, lower blood pressure, and improve longevity.

From City Clinic to Nature’s Healing Countryside

The medical fraternity is increasingly aware of the therapeutic benefits of outdoor activity. Studies show that time spent in nature reduces stress, elevates mood, and encourages physical activity. Something as basic as increasing one’s daily step count by exploring new destinations can strengthen the heart and reduce risk of chronic disease. For patients struggling with mental health, anxiety, or hypertension, travel is proving to be more than a holiday indulgence. It is a tool of prevention and recovery.

Countries such as the UK and New Zealand are leading the way. The UK’s National Health Service has piloted “green prescriptions” that encourage patients to walk in parks or participate in guided outdoor activities. New Zealand has gone further, actively integrating nature prescriptions into its national healthcare strategy, with doctors issuing formal recommendations for hiking, cycling, and coastal walks.

The Economics of Prescribing Travel

At first glance, paying for a patient to go on holiday might seem extravagant. Yet insurers are beginning to ask whether such approaches could, in the long term, save money. The rationale is clear. If doctors can prevent costly hospitalisations for stress-related illnesses or cardiovascular conditions by encouraging active holidays, then the economics turn in favour of travel as medicine.

Health insurers traditionally focus on reducing claims and costs. Supporting wellness tourism fits neatly into that mission. For forward-thinking companies, covering part of the cost of a medically-advised trip could be less expensive than long-term pharmaceutical prescriptions or recurring hospital visits. Spending less money while improving outcomes is the holy grail of healthcare finance.

Why Your Doctor Might Send You to Thailand Instead of the Pharmacy

Thailand is increasingly positioned as the world’s favourite medical tourism hub, not only for hospital procedures but also for wellness journeys that improve daily health. Doctors may recommend active travel as an alternative to medication because time spent in Thailand’s tropical climate, with spa treatments, yoga retreats, and daily exercise, can lower blood pressure and ease stress more naturally than a pill bottle.

Instead of refilling prescriptions, patients could be encouraged to spend two weeks at a wellness retreat in Hua Hin, a meditation centre in Chiang Mai, or on a beach walk in Phuket. For many conditions — particularly hypertension, anxiety, and mild depression — such programmes can achieve measurable health benefits. What was once seen as indulgence is now being recognised by medics as a legitimate and cost-effective form of therapy.

Insurance and Medical Tourism: Following the Money

Insurance companies are also beginning to authorise treatment abroad, especially when major procedures can be done at a fraction of the cost in Asia. The United States remains the most expensive country for healthcare. By comparison:

» USA: Heart bypass $120,000 | Hip replacement $40,000+ | Dental implant $3,500

» Thailand: Heart bypass $15,000 | Hip replacement $12,000 | Dental implant $1,000

» India: Heart bypass $7,500 | Hip replacement $8,000 | Dental implant $900

» Mexico: Heart bypass $25,000 | Hip replacement $12,000 | Dental implant $1,500

» Turkey: Heart bypass $20,000 | Hip replacement $10,000 | Dental implant $1,200

Such stark differences explain why US and European insurers are increasingly willing to cover patients who opt for accredited hospitals overseas. Thailand, India, and Mexico have all reported growth in partnerships with foreign insurers, who recognise that authorising a $15,000 heart bypass in Bangkok is more cost-effective than paying over $100,000 in Boston.

Top Countries for Medical and Wellness Tourism

According to recent surveys, the top five destinations for medical tourism are Thailand, India, Mexico, Turkey, and Singapore. Thailand stands out as a favoured destination. Renowned for its excellent hospitals, English-speaking doctors, and lower costs, Thailand attracts more than 3 million medical tourists annually. Beyond procedures, the country’s wellness resorts in Hua Hin, Phuket, and Chiang Mai combine spa treatments, fitness programmes, and traditional Thai therapies with sun-drenched beaches and cultural immersion.

Medical tourism authorities, especially in Thailand, are now aligning their marketing campaigns with wellness and longevity. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has emphasised medical and wellness travel as a core pillar of its 2026 “Value Over Volume” strategy, positioning the country as the ultimate place to heal body and mind.

The Future: Travel as Prescription

The evidence is mounting. Wellness and longevity are trending, supported by medical research showing improved recovery times, reduced stress markers, and healthier lifestyles after immersive travel. Tourism authorities are beginning to promote these benefits alongside their beaches and temples. And for doctors, the idea of prescribing travel is moving from radical to reasonable.

If insurers see the same potential for long-term savings, tomorrow’s prescription may read: “Two weeks in Thailand, daily meditation, and at least 10,000 steps a day.”

PARADISE PROVEN

Palawan Crowned the World’s Best Tropical Island

You taste the salt before you see it. The banca’s bow slides through a limestone keyhole and the lagoon opens like a jade bowl. Morning light combs the cliffs, a kingfisher stitches a blue line across the water, and the sea breathes in the cave’s dark mouth. The air is cool and mineral—the kind of hush that settles you into the present. Palawan at daybreak doesn’t perform; it simply reveals itself, and you feel your shoulders drop.

This year, travelers around the globe agreed with what locals have always known. Palawan was named the World’s Best Island to Visit (2025) and simultaneously Asia’s # 1 island.

Palawan: Province, Island, or Both?

Palawan is all three at once: a province, a long main island, and an archipelago of roughly 1,780 islands and islets that sweep between the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. The province sits in the Mimaropa region and includes the Calamianes to the north (Busuanga, Coron, Culion, Linapacan), the Cuyo Islands in the Sulu Sea, and Balabac near Borneo. Puerto Princesa—geographically within Palawan and the island’s gateway—is the provincial capital and a highly urbanized city in its own right. In everyday terms, when travelers say “Palawan,” they may mean the province, the main island, or beloved corners such as El Nido and Coron. However you define it, the experience is the same: limestone, blue water, and a horizon that keeps opening.

A Short History of an Island Frontier

Long before resort timetables and airline codes, people sheltered in Palawan’s Tabon Caves at Lipuun Point. Excavations point to near-continuous human presence from roughly 30,000 to 9,000 years ago, with stone tools, hearths, and burial jars telling a story of long memory. Trade later braided Palawan into Southeast Asia’s maritime world; ceramics and words arrived by sail, and communities learned the winds the way others learn the seasons.

Spain folded Palawan into its empire in stages. Fortified churches rose at Taytay, Cuyo, and Linapacan to face down Moro sea raids; southern Palawan was ceded by Brunei to Spain in the mid-18th century; and the long main island—known for a time as Paragua—saw capitals shift between Cuyo, Taytay, and Puerto Princesa as authorities redrew maps. American rule reorganized towns and laid roads; then World War II burned new names into memory when carrier-borne aircraft struck Japanese shipping in Coron Bay in September 1944, sending freighters to the seabed where divers now fin through rib and hatch in shafts of blue.

What followed is the arc that defines Palawan today: protection paired with access. In 1990 the entire province became a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; in 1992 the Strategic Environmental Plan created zoning across land and sea—mangroves, islands, reefs—so development would answer to ecology. Tubbataha Reefs earned World Heritage status in 1993 (expanded in 2009), Puerto Princesa’s Underground River in 1999, and the island’s stewardship matured into a quiet confidence. The result is a frontier that feels both storied and intact.

Five Palawan Moments

You’ll Never Forget

You board a small paddle boat at Sabang where the forest meets the sea, and the world narrows to the knock of oars and the drip of water. Inside the cavern, the temperature falls and the light becomes a silver wash, revealing stalactites like frozen curtains and cathedral-high chambers where your voice rises and disappears. Bats flutter, the guide’s torch paints grotto walls, and the river slides past in a tide-ruled pulse. It’s a rare place where geology, biodiversity, and stillness share the same address—and you leave blinking, as if stepping out of a dream.

El Nido’s Big Lagoon

Aim for slack tide, when the water turns to glass. The kayak glides over seams of aquamarine and emerald, and the limestone ramparts rise straight from the sea like a natural amphitheater. The sound here is a soft one: paddle, drip, breath. Mangrove roots braid into the shallows; a reef shadow moves like smoke beneath you. You park the kayak in a pocket of sand, sit with your feet in the water, and watch the cliffs trade green for gold as the sun climbs. It’s simple, elemental, and wholly absorbing.

Coron’s Wreck Dives

Sun-struck and bright at the surface, Coron becomes cinematic as you drop. Beams of light rake through blue water and resolve into the ribs and decks of WWII shipwrecks furred with soft corals. Sweetlips queue like traffic; clouds of glassy sweepers part as you cross a companionway; a turtle regards you with casual indifference and sails past a gun mount now claimed by the reef. Even if you only snorkel the shallower hulks, the sensation is the same: history softened by time, transformed into a living garden.

Pamalican Island & Amanpulo

The arrival is barefoot. A private plane lands on a ribbon of runway, and within minutes you’re in a casita steps from a sugar-white strand. The pace is unhurried—paddle boards at dawn, reef snorkeling off the beach, a book under the palms in the heat of the day. Service is quiet and anticipatory, a butler appearing with cold calamansi at the moment you think of it. There’s no golf course—fittingly—but there is a whimsical, eco-friendly seaside driving range where biodegradable balls dissolve into fish food, an island wink at play. At night, the beach becomes a cinema, and the Milky Way does its best to steal the show.

Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park

Far offshore, where the Sulu Sea turns a saturated blue, lies a diver’s Eden reachable only by liveaboard. Vertical walls fall away into indigo; schools of jacks shear past in mirrors of silver; mantas appear like quiet planets and keep their own slow time. Between dives you sit on the aft deck with coffee and watch the horizon do nothing at all. It’s wilderness in the truest sense—protected, pristine, and humbling—and it explains why Palawan’s brand of luxury is rooted in what the sea is, not in what we build beside it.

Flavors of the Islands

Palawan tastes like the sea brightened with citrus and smoke. Lunch might be kinilaw: tuna kissed with vinegar, ginger, and chilies. Dinner could be octopus charred over coconut husk and finished with kalamansi; or tiger prawns in coconut cream with a side of garlic rice and green mango salad. In simple beachfront shacks and polished hotel dining rooms alike, the ingredients stay honest. Order a buko juice hacked open to order; finish with halo-halo, a riot of textures under shaved ice, best eaten slowly while the sunset takes its time.

Getting There from Bangkok

Two easy paths lead you to paradise. The first is Seamless Scheduled: Bangkok to Manila, then onward to Puerto Princesa (for the Underground River), El Nido (for lagoons), or Busuanga/Coron (for wrecks). Connections are well-timed and, with a morning departure, you can be raising a glass by late afternoon. The second is Private Direct: charter flights deliver you closer to the sand with minimal fuss, ideal for families or groups who value privacy and daylight arrivals. Either way, pack light, bring reef-safe sunscreen, and plan lagoon paddles for mornings when winds are lowest.

Best Time to Visit

Palawan shines from November to May. December to February brings cooler air and soft light for photography. March to May is peak lagoon time with glassy seas and long beach days. Divers target mid-March to June for Tubbataha’s prime window, when visibility soars and pelagics are most reliable. The wet season has its charms—lush hills, fewer boats—but the sea’s mood turns changeable. If lagoons and long crossings are your goals, let the dry months be your guide.

Culture & Conservation

Palawan isn’t just scenery. It is home to the Tagbanua and Batak peoples, whose deep knowledge of currents, seasons, and reefs underpins the island’s character. Much of Palawan sits within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a status that ties conservation to community. You feel it in the briefings before a cave tour, in the way boatmen idle through turtle grass, and in island kitchens that buy their fish by the hook, not the net. The pride is quiet but everywhere—a sense that the island’s future matters as much as your holiday.

Industry: Nature, Energy, and the Blue Economy

Tourism leads the headlines, but Palawan’s economy is broader than beach days. Offshore, the Malampaya gas project has long powered parts of Luzon, with operations staged from bases near Puerto Princesa. In the far south around Bataraza, nickel mines and processing plants support thousands of jobs while operating under tight environmental oversight. Closer to shore, the small-boat fisheries—tuna, squid, reef fish—remain the daily heartbeat for many coastal villages. What sets Palawan apart is the way these sectors sit beside an ever-strengthening conservation ethic: zoning that keeps lagoons clear, environmental compliance for new builds, and communities that increasingly see healthy reefs and forests as their best long-term industry.

Real Estate: Owning a Slice of Paradise

For would-be homeowners, the rules shape the opportunities. Foreigners can purchase condominium units (in projects where at least 60% of the building is Filipino -owned) and may take long-term leases on land; outright freehold land ownership remains restricted to Filipino citizens and majority-Filipino corporations. In practice, that means Puerto Princesa offers the most straightforward condo options; El Nido and Coron lean toward boutique hotels, eco -lodges, and long-lease villas with strict zoning; and San Vicente—home to the 14 -kilometer Long Beach—has designated tourism zones that favor thoughtfully planned developments. Wherever you look, insist on clean titles, environmental compliance certificates, and alignment with local zoning. The smart bet here mirrors the island’s values: low-impact architecture, generous setbacks, solar and rainwater systems, and designs that let the sea and sky do the decorating.

Paradise, Perfected

Palawan doesn’t just look like the world’s last, best paradise—it lives that promise every day. From the hush of El Nido’s lagoons and the story-soaked wrecks of Coron to the cathedral cool of the Underground River and the blue infinity of Tubbataha, this is a place where wild beauty and careful stewardship meet. It’s luxury that steps back so nature can take the spotlight, and an island culture that welcomes without crowding. No surprise, then, that travelers voted Palawan the best island in the world to visit in 2025. The verdict matches the feeling: among all the names on the map, this is the one that still feels like a discovery—pure, protected, and unforgettable.

SANCTUARY ABOVE THE SEA

Discovering Sri Panwa's Unparalleled Perch on Phuket

Let’s Stay

Phuket. The name conjures images of bustling beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a thrum of energy that defines one of Southeast Asia’s most beloved islands. Yet, tucked away on its southeasternmost point, Cape Panwa, lies a realm of serene sophistication that feels worlds apart. Here, perched dramatically 60 meters above the Andaman Sea, sprawled across 80 rai of lush rainforest, Sri Panwa stands not just as a luxury resort, but as a meticulously crafted sanctuary. It’s a place where barefoot luxury meets tropical elegance, where panoramic ocean vistas are your constant companion, and where privacy is woven into the very fabric of the experience.

A Peninsula of Privacy

The journey from Phuket International Airport sets the stage – a scenic 45-minute drive culminating in the discovery of Cape Panwa. Sri Panwa’s genius lies in its geography. Occupying an entire peninsula, it transforms accessibility into exclusivity. You arrive not just on Phuket, but on a private headland embraced by Thai jungle, kissed by sea breezes, and blessed with 360-degree views of the azure Andaman. The elevation ensures a sense of remove, a detachment from the island’s busier shores, while simultaneously offering breathtaking, uninterrupted horizons. It’s a paradox: easy to reach, yet profoundly secluded; part of Phuket, yet distinctly its own priv ate universe.

Villas Where Horizon Meets Infinity

Accommodation at Sri Panwa is less about rooms and more about curated private estates. The design philosophy is unmistakably modern-Thai, seamlessly integrating with the natural landscape. From intimate one-bedroom sanctuaries to expansive multi-bedroom residences, each villa is conceived as a haven. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves boundaries, framing the ever-changing seascape like living art. The signature infinity pools are more than mere amenities; they are liquid extensions of the horizon, framing your private panorama.

Think king-size beds draped in luxury linens, L-shaped lounges perfect for sunset contemplation, ensuite bathrooms featuring indulgent double Jacuzzi tubs, private steam rooms, and outdoor rain showers that bring the tropics into your daily ritual. The Habita Enclave, housing Pool Suites and Penthouses, exemplifies this ethos, while the newer Yaya complex adds another 24 pool suites, their contemporary tropical interiors and distinctive terra cotta exteriors adding a fresh chapter to the Sri Panwa story. Every detail whispers privacy and unobstructed connection to the sublime views.

Culinary Journeys with a View

Dining at Sri Panwa transcends sustenance; it’s an integral part of the sensory journey. The resort boasts six distinct venues, each a destination. Baba Soul Food delivers authentic Thai flavours that sing with local provenance. Baba IKI shifts the focus to expertly crafted Japanese favourites. Baba Hot Box tempts with the smoky allure of grilled specialties. The resort’s main restaurant offers surprisingly accessible Thai fusion dinner experiences without compromising on quality or the stunning backdrop. However, the liquid crown jewel is Baba Nest. Consistently ranked among the world’s best rooftop bars, this iconic platform offers 360-degree vistas that steal your breath. Sipping meticulously crafted cocktails alongside sophisticated tapas as the sun ignites the Andaman sky is an experience that resonates long after the last drop. For an equally premium but differently atmospheric sunset, Shishi Lounge, overlooking the peninsula, offers an exclusive selection of high-end cocktails, fine wines, and champagne. The new TU, an extension of the Baba Nest legacy atop Yaya, adds another alluring rooftop option. Here, every meal, every sip, is accompanied by a panorama that elevates the experience to the extraordinary.

Wellness: From Spa Serenity to Advanced Vitality

Sri Panwa understands luxury encompasses holistic well-being. Recreation begins with the stunning swimming pools, most notably the Olympic-size Forest Waterfall Pool – a masterpiece of landscaping where water cascades naturally amidst lush gardens, blurring the line between curated luxury and wild beauty. The world-class spa provides a serene sanctuary of traditional and contemporary treatments designed to soothe body and mind. Yet, Sri Panwa pushes boundaries further through its pioneering partnership with BDMS Wellness Clinic. This state-of-theart facility integrates advanced medical science into the resort’s tropical sanctuary. It’s not just pampering; it’s personalised vitality. Guests can access anti-aging therapies, detox programs, hormone balancing, and comprehensive wellness regimens, all within the resort’s tranquil embrace. For the actively inclined, tennis courts and water activities like kayaking and paddleboarding in the calm waters off Cape Panwa offer invigorating alternatives to crowded beaches.

Gathering in Paradise: From Boardrooms to Ballrooms

Recognizing the desires of the discerning corporate and social traveller, Sri Panwa’s Yaya complex redefines event spaces. This is no sterile conference centre. It embodies the resort’s luxury aesthetic while offering cutting-edge facilities. Two expansive convention halls with a combined capacity of 400 provide a breathtakingly unique backdrop for large-scale conferences, exhibitions, or corporate retreats. For life’s grand celebrations – particularly weddings – Sri Panwa is peerless. Imagine exchanging vows against the infinite blue horizon, celebrating in sophisticated venues that open onto the sea, with guests retreating to ultra-private pool villas. The resort masterfully scales from intimate gatherings to significant events, all infused with its signature sense of place and impeccable service.

The Essence of Excellence

Sri Panwa’s reputation as a magnet for celebrities and the global elite is no accident. It’s forged through unwavering commitment: ultra-private accommodations where every villa feels like a personal kingdom; world-class dining and beverage experiences, crowned by the legendary Baba Nest; innovative wellness that spans relaxation to rejuvenation; and facilities capable of hosting both profound personal moments and significant professional gatherings. This dedication resonates, reflected in its stellar 4.5/5 TripAdvisor rating (soaring to 4.8 for rooms and cleanliness based on over 1,000 reviews).

Sri Panwa is more than a five-star resort; it’s an elevated state of being. It’s the feeling of discovering your own slice of paradise perched above the sea, where the jungle meets the ocean, and every detail conspires to create an experience of profound tranquility and indulgence. It’s where barefoot luxury finds its most sophisticated expression, and where the panoramic beauty of Phuket’s hidden cape becomes your personal, unforgettable sanctuary. For those seeking not just a holiday, but a haven, Sri Panwa awaits on the edge of the horizon.

STELLA & THE SKY

Hua Hin’s Rooftop Renaissance

Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin unveils a dual-concept transformation with the debut of Stella, an intimate Italian dining destination, and The Sky, a vibrant rooftop bar—crowned with a glittering grand opening celebration

On Saturday the 27th of September, Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin unveiled its newest rooftop concepts with an exclusive private Grand Opening celebration that set the tone for what promises to be Hua Hin’s most exciting dining destination. Attendees for the evening included His Excellency Khun Suwat Liptapanlop, VIPs from Bangkok and Hua Hin, and members of both local and national media.

Against a backdrop of sweeping Gulf views, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening remarks marked the official debut of the hotel’s reimagined rooftop. Guests were then introduced to Stella, a new Italian dining concept, before settling into a starlit dinner that perfectly showcased the restaurant’s authentic cuisine. It was a night of sophistication and intimacy, blending fine dining with festive energy, and a fitting launch for Hua Hin’s newest rooftop jewel.

A Dual-Concept Rooftop Experience

The private party celebrated the arrival of two distinct venues atop the 27th floor: Stella, a refined Italian restaurant, and THE SKY, a vibrant rooftop bar. Together, they represent Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin’s bold transformation of its iconic rooftop space, once home to the beloved Vana Nava Sky. By pairing a lively social bar with an elegant dining destination, the hotel has created a multifaceted experience that speaks to the diverse tastes of its guests.

Stella: An Italian Dining Experience with Soul

The heart of the transformation is Stella, a restaurant that brings Neapolitan-inspired cuisine to the rooftops of Hua Hin. Inside, sleek Italian-inspired interiors create an atmosphere that feels contemporary yet warm, while the open-air terrace overlooks the dramatic curve of Khao Takiab. It is an ideal setting for romantic escapes, family dinners, or even intimate wedding celebrations under the stars.

A highlight of Stella’s approach is the Tableside Trolley service, where chefs prepare dishes right at the table, turning dinner into a performance that is both engaging and memorable. Seating up to 60 guests, Stella strikes a perfect balance between exclusivity and approachability, ensuring every visit feels like a special occasion.

THE SKY: Cocktails, Energy, and Unmatched Views

On the same rooftop level, THE SKY continues to shine as Hua Hin’s ultimate perch above the city. Modern and cosmopolitan, it exudes an upbeat atmosphere perfect for cocktails at sunset or latenight gatherings. Its signature feature, the Sky Deck, dares guests to step onto a glass-floor platform suspended above the skyline, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of Hua Hin and the Gulf of Thailand.

Behind the bar, seasoned mixologists craft signature cocktails that rival the views for attention. Paired with a versatile menu of snacks and main dishes, THE SKY is more than a bar—it is a full experience, where modern luxury meets casual vibrancy.

Elevating Hua Hin’s Rooftop Scene

With Stella and THE SKY, Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin has set a new benchmark for dining and nightlife in the city. The Grand Opening celebration underscored not only the glamour of the new venues but also the hotel’s commitment to elevating Hua Hin’s hospitality landscape. Guests now have the option to begin their evening with cocktails high above the city, savor an authentic Italian dinner under the stars, and return to the lively atmosphere of THE SKY—all within one unforgettable night.

Both venues are open daily from 5:00 PM to midnight, welcoming locals, travelers, couples, and families alike. With this rooftop transformation, Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin hasn't just raised the bar – they've put it on the 27th floor and dared us all to reach it. Challenge accepted.

ELITE CELEBRATE TWO DECADES OF EXCELLENCE

The PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards Mark a Golden Milestone with Vision and Sophistication

Under the glittering chandeliers of the newly reopened Dusit Thani Bangkok, Thailand's most distinguished property developers, architects, and industry luminaries gathered for an evening that epitomized luxury, vision, and twenty years of transformative real estate excellence. The PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards—the kingdom's most prestigious property honors—celebrated its landmark 20th edition with the kind of sophistication and forward-thinking spirit that has defined Thailand's ascent as a global destination for luxury living.

The black-tie affair felt quintessentially Thai: gracious yet ambitious, rooted in tradition while boldly embracing the future. As judges and consumers together crowned a new generation of champions, the evening served as both celebration and testament to the visionaries who have sculpted Thailand's architectural landscape into something truly world-class.

A Crown Jewel Victory

The evening's most significant triumph belonged to Frasers Property (Thailand) Public Company Limited, which claimed its first-ever Best Developer title—a victory that resonates far beyond the ceremonial stage. As the visionary force behind One Bangkok, the transformative mixed-use district that is redefining the capital's urban fabric, Frasers has proven that luxury development today must be both spectacular and sustainable. Their additional recognition for The Grand Riverfront Ratchapruek -- Rama 5 underscores a design philosophy where luxury and livability don't merely coexist—they enhance each other.

This year's breadth of winners reflected Thailand's maturing property landscape. Real Asset Development claimed dual golden statuettes for Aestiq Thonglor, including the coveted Best Condo Development (Thailand), while Asset Five Group's Cinq Royal The Eighteen Bangna KM.7 earned Best Housing Development (Thailand). These victories signal a market that continues to elevate standards, where excellence is not just aspired to—it's expected.

Bangkok: The Crucible of Innovation

Thailand's capital remains the epicenter of property innovation, and this year's winners showcased a remarkable diversity of vision. Pruksa Holding PCL was honored as Best Wellness Developer, with Pruksa Real Estate PCL also securing victories for Chapter Charoenkrung Riverside and The Reserve Villas Sukhumvit 89/1. These wins signal wellness has evolved from luxury amenity to core design philosophy—a fundamental shift reflecting post-pandemic priorities.

The city's retail imagination equally impressed. Asset World Corporation's Hatch Dome -- Asiatique The Riverfront Destination triumphed alongside Lead8's Parade at One Bangkok, both signaling the next generation of experiential destinations where shopping, dining, and cultural immersion converge into something approaching art.

Ultra-luxury developments dominated the evening with projects that redefine opulent living: Scope Company Limited's Scope Thonglor, Land and Houses' Nantawan Pool Villa Rama 9, A35 Estate Corporation's D Space 3, and Triya's Triya Panwa by The Element. Each represents Thailand's sophisticated appetite for best-in-class design that rivals anything found in global luxury capitals.

Particularly impressive were the multiple victories secured by industry stalwarts Land and Houses PCL and AP (Thailand) PCL, each claiming four wins. Their projects—including Vive New Krungthep Kreetha and Vive Phuket (Land and Houses), and Beon Kaset -- Nawamin, Centro Sathorn -- Suksawat (AP)—reaffirm these developers' enduring influence and their ability to consistently deliver excellence.

Paradise Perfected: Thailand's Resort Capitals

Thailand's legendary resort destinations took a deserved bow, reflecting the renaissance of leisure-focused luxury living. In Phuket, Sansiri's Canvas Cherngtalay offered a sophisticated coastal statement that perfectly captures the island's evolved aesthetic, while AAG Development's Naturale Phuket Luxury Pool Villas interpreted island elegance through the lens of private-villa intimacy.

Central Pattana's expanding Phyll collection—from Phuket II to Krabi—signals a developer's calibrated expansion into resort-city living, where luxury meets accessibility without compromise. Meanwhile, Land and Houses' Vive Phuket established a new benchmark for island contemporary living, balancing absolute privacy with proximity to Phuket's world-class dining and marina scenes.

Triya Panwa earned its place among ultra-luxury standouts with a dramatic cliffside posture that feels custom-designed for Andaman sunsets—the kind of property that transforms a house into a destination.

Coastal Excellence and Regional Recognition

Samui celebrated a banner year with Tropical Life Real Estate Co., Ltd. named Best Developer (Samui), bolstered by victories for Nathee/Thawee and Suntree by Tropical Life Residence. These projects distill the island's barefoot luxury philosophy into homes designed for extended stays and lasting memories.

Along the Gulf Coast, PNP Real Estate Co., Ltd. claimed Best Developer (Hua Hin) with La Felice Exclusive Villa Hua Hin—a private-villa concept that pairs contemporary architectural lines with the relaxed charm that defines Thailand's royal resort town.

The Eastern Seaboard crown passed to The Riviera Group, awarded Best Developer (Eastern Seaboard) in recognition of their enduring excellence in Pattaya-Chonburi's competitive luxury market. Together, these regional victories chart Thailand's evolution as a destination where second homes and investment-grade assets converge with hospitality-level service standards.

Voices of Excellence

Democracy took center stage with the People's Choice Awards, powered by DDproperty and Think of Living. The 2025 winners—including Areeya Property PCL, Sansiri PCL, Central Pattana Residence, and Major Development— reflect a public increasingly sophisticated in design literacy and brand recognition.

Three special honors illuminated the evening's deeper significance. The Life Achievement Award celebrated Kamala Sukosol, president of Siam Hotels & Resorts, for a legacy intertwined with responsible tourism and Thailand's cultural fabric. Rising Star recognition went to Supachoke Panchasarp, CEO of Asset Five Group PCL, for pioneering new approaches to self-built homes and identifying consumer desires others overlooked.

Most significantly, the Real Estate Personality of the Year honor recognized Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat Group. Few executives have so completely reimagined how Thais meet, shop, dine, and celebrate. Her stewardship of destinations like IconSiam and Siam Paragon has elevated retail into cultural placemaking— proof that exceptional spaces can serve as civic stages for both locals and global travelers.

A Kingdom Building Its Future

As the evening concluded, the broader message emerged clearly: Thai real estate has achieved world-class status while maintaining its distinctive character. From Bangkok's dazzling skylines to Phuket's relaxed coastal elegance, the winners represent a kingdom unafraid to dream ambitiously—then execute beautifully.

Fittingly, Thailand's top winners now advance to the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final on December 12, 2025, where they will compete for Best in Asia titles against the region's finest. For the developers, designers, and visionaries honored at the Dusit Thani, the path forward remains clear: continue crafting the narrative of a country that stands among the world's most desirable places to live, work, invest—and return to, time and again.

In Thailand's property excellence, luxury isn't just about opulence—it's about creating lasting value, sustainable beauty, and spaces that enhance life itself. That philosophy, twenty years in the making, promises even more extraordinary chapters ahead.
