Days a er their Big 12 Championship win over Baylor, Texas Women’s Basketball defeats Fairfield in Round One. Aliyah Matharu scored seven points, two assists, three steals, and two rebounds. Senior Audrey Warren scored eight points, five rebounds, and four steals. Jurnior #10 Shay Holle had one defensive rebound, but it was instrumental. #31 Audrey Warren

Remember #21 Aaliyah Moore. Pronounce uh-LEE-ah Moore. Teammates, coach Schaefer, and media call her ‘A-Mo’. Moore, a freshman, was the No. 6 ranked player coming out of HS, Two- me Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, and McDonald’s All-American in 2021. Moore scored 18 points, 10 rebounds (6 Off. 4 def.), shot 10-10 (100%) free throws, and had one steal. We may be witnessing a Mega Superstar.

Texas Women’s Basketball gave the Frank Erwin Center the perfect ending by shoo ng the lights out and winning against Utah 78-56. Texas ended the game hi ng 35-55 (63.6%) FG. During the second quarter Texas shot 1113 (84.6%) from the field. It was the third game in a row Aaliyah Moore scored double digits. Moore hit 9-10 (90%) from the field, 3-4 free throws for 21 points, and had five rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Senior Joanne Allen-Taylor scored 12 points, two steals, and two rebounds.
