So why is The Teachers College at ESU is THE education destination in the region? It’s our unmatched teacher preparation training model. Whether you’re looking to teach in elementary, middle or high schools, classroom observation and student teaching prepares you to be confident in your abilities and take on your own classroom after graduation. And back on campus, you’ll spend your time learning from educators who have been in K-12 classrooms themselves. When you choose the middle and high school education route (or secondary education, as we call it), you’ll benefit from classes both in the education department and your content area. Health Sciences

EXPERIENCES Healthcare professionals, from nurses to athletic trainers to mental health counselors, help keep us happy and healthy. Emporia State University has a variety of programs to prepare you to enter your field or go on to medical school, veterinary school, dental school, pharmacy school, graduate programs and more. ESU has been producing excellent Nurses for over 100 years. You will get to learn and practice in our brand new nursing building opening fall 2025, using state-of-the-art equipment and gaining clinical experience to support your classroom learning. There is high demand for great nurses like you in Kansas and across the nation. And a bachelor’s degree in nursing means more career advancement! Get into the lab with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where you will get hands-on experiences to prepare for your future career, whether you’re interested in biomedical research, forensic science (check out the Forensic Science 4+1 program!), medical school or something completely different. Last year, 100% of 2023 ESU graduates who applied to medical school were accepted. Dive deep into the human mind and psyche to build a happier and healthier world with the Psychology program. You’ll have opportunities to present at conferences, study in the animal vivarium and work on original research.

Health + Human Performance major. You can take advantage of the Athletic Training 2 + 3 program to earn your bachelor’s and master’s in five years! Our HHP program can also prepare you to go on to physical therapy school.

From business to cybersecurity, marketing to communication, ESU has a program that will help you build the skills to take your future organization to the next level. The Business Administration degree at ESU is all about flexibility. You’ll gain the knowledge and background to stand out in the business world, while focusing on one of 11 concentrations that help you follow your passion. Regardless of the program you choose, you’ll take advantage of connections to mentors and alumni who have made a name for themselves and can help you do the same. ESU’s Computer Science program prepares you to take your tech skills to the next level. Three concentrations in Cybersecurity, Data Science and Application Development allow you to shape your degree to fit your future career. Not to mention, you’ll get to take advantage of the brand-new Cybersecurity Research + Outreach Center, which offers state-of-theart technology and opportunities to partner with local businesses for work experience before you graduate. The Information Systems + Analytics program will help you learn how people, data and technology work together to grow an organization. Choose from three concentrations in Business Data Analytics, Business Information Systems or Cybersecurity Analytics. Communication is a critical component of successful organizations. With five concentrations in Public Relations, Public Dialogue + Advocacy, Organizational Communication, Leadership Communication and Communication, Emerging Technology + Society, the Communication degree at ESU helps you develop connection and communication skills to be a valuable asset to any organization.


ART, FISHERIES + WILDLIFE, UNDECIDED + Every Point Between Our Art degree has one-of-a-kind programs, including Ceramics, Engraving, Glass Forming, Graphic Design, Painting and Photography, that let you explore your medium and be part of a thriving community in Emporia and beyond. Our engraving arts program is the only engraving arts bachelor’s degree in the world!

Get out of the classroom and into the field, literally. With Emporia State’s Fisheries + Wildlife program, you’ll get out into natural areas around campus, around the state and around the nation to build skills in conservation and resource management. And thanks to partnerships with local and national wildlife agencies, you’ll have access to internship and job opportunities. ESU also has the only on-campus aquatic research center in the state! Are you interested in social justice or diversity, equity and inclusion? The Ethnic, Gender and Identity Studies program at ESU focuses on analyzing personal and social identities to build skills in critical thinking, social awareness and advocacy. You can pair this degree with marketing, communication, business—or take your skills into

further study with graduate programs in education, law, public health and more. Did you know an average one-third of college students change their major at least once?
