Touring the [Topeka Correctional Facility] for my program was nothing I ever imagined. We were not just greeted by the walls of confinement but also real-life stories of those who are giving their entire life to the facility. The experience changed my view of corrections and has piqued my interest in the field.

My experience studying theatre at Emporia State has been by far the most encouraging and transformative experience I've had. If you show the passion and drive to try something new, the faculty will always encourage you to do it, providing endless support and guidance along the way. Having now graduated, I am so thrilled and inspired to go out and create art, and I feel so confident that the training I received will be invaluable in my career as a theatre artist.
Rachel Shaffer
Theatre Graduate

Being involved in music ensembles allows me to continue my growth as a flutist and make strong relationships with my classmates and faculty. Emporia State gives me the unique opportunity to follow my music passion alongside my academic commitment to accounting. Balancing rehearsals, performances, and coursework has improved my time management skills and has deepened my appreciation for both fields.

Senior Accounting and Music Major
I loved watching how passionate elementary students were to come together and help celebrate Freedom Week and Constitution Day. Leading a breakout session gave me the chance to connect with my peers around important civic themes and helped me grow as both a speaker and a student leader.
